For us it was about location as it was adjacent to an event we were attending at the Sports Connextion Ryton on Dunsmore. However it turned out to be a much nicer hotel tan we had atticipated. It is open plan with the bar, restaurant and reception all in one large area, so not made for quiert contemplation or intimate dining but as the hotel is part of a Golf Course complex this would not be a problem for its normal clientele. The food in the restaurant was excellent and not over priced and neither was the wine. The inclusive breakfast was superb and all staff were very efficient and always smiling. The onsuite rooms were ample size well furnished and with free Wi-Fi it made for a comfortable stay. A minor negative as with many hotel/motels was the corridor system, which meant you got some noise intrusion from a small number of guests who ignored the hotels notices requesting restraint after 10.30pm. But it was not a major issue for us. Not a problem but for prospective users information. When travelling towards the hotel you cannot make a right turn into the hotel grounds from the dual carriageway. You must travel beyond it to the motorway roundabout and return on the opposite side and turn left in to Golf course and hotel.

I enjoyed my stay there, the only thing that put me off was that I was given a room which was not ready and it was after 2 in the afternoon.I Was given the keys to the rooms and when I got there the house keepers werestill in the room the bed was still not made.I Think that if the rooms are checked before which I think you guys do but maybe it was too busy.besides that I love the place, Im a nurse and at times I mentor at st Cross hospital but I live in shipston on stour now that I have found a comfortable place to stay its definately Drycote and I will be back.

it is a familiar hotel to us we have stayed there several times. The breakfast is brilliant and the gym is one of the best I have ever used. Would recommend it to anybody.

Special offer was very good value. The room (room 5) was spacious and quiet. Free WiFi (essential). Perfect location, excellent bar food and breakfasts, excellent staff. I thought the room (room 5) was spacious but very tired, especially the bed, the old carpet and obsolete tv. I could feel every spring through the bed upholstery. However I had the room on a special offer and the room was fine for the price paid. I saw that the normal room rate was £105 per night (plus breakfast?) and I would have been very disappointed with the condition of the room at that price. For that price I would have expected recently refurbished, better bed, modern tv and full Sky tv, not just Freeview. Also the room was booked partly because the hotel was advertised as having a gymn, and when I asked to use it I was told there wasn't one. Overall though, for the price the facilities were ok.

My room was not clean when I checked inn and the second night either. It seemed as if the cleaning lady just pulled the duvet over the bed and that was all she did.

Gym, Initial impressions were good of the hotel and reception and staff Our room was not the same as the picture on the web site. The tv had to be replaced. The bedroom was not up to scratch for a 3* hotel. Bathroom door could not be closed. Our initial room already had someone residing in it when we turned up, so had to move

Beautiful gardens. Quite different inside. A lot of the furniture was in need of replacing. Staff seemed preoccupied and not always available to help. And on the evening there were 3 staff and only one gentleman seemed to be doing the bar and helping on reception.

Leaving I rang for directions and no one could tell e where it was. I booked a double room and recieved a twin room with two very uncomfortable beds pushed together. The walls of the room needed painting. The curtains had shrunk. Breakfast is only served from 7.00am 9.00am and was only average quality. Some staff training is desparatly needed. When I signed in no one offered to carry our bags or show us to our room, we were just told that it was down the corridor, when in fact it was upstairs. When we went for breakfast in the morning we had to wait for a table being cleared, then when we were showed to a table no one told us that it was a buffet, we were just left sat waiting.

The food was excellent - beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The open plan layout of the public rooms meant the ambiance could have been better - very noisy.

It was a very relaxed hotel, the staff were ok and the breakfast was good. There were plenty of paths to stroll around and explore for those who wanted to walk off that extra sausage! Staff were a little slow, we waited a while to check in, staff just ignored us! At breakfast we had to ask a few times for toast, butter and drinks.

Breakfast was good! Also the communal areas were very pleasant and relaxing spaces. The grounds were lovely too. Our room was in an older part of the hotel and was a little tired, although still clean. Likewise the en suite bathroom. The bed was comprised of two single devans side-by-side and there was a gap between them - less than ideal for my wife and me.
