Lovely staff, ambiance, luxurious rooms
nothing to dislike
The comfortable feeling of being in an old and beautiful, well maintained Victorian mansion, with a personal touch. The bunches of fresh sweet smelling flowers in the drawing rooms, the champagne upon arrival, the hot chocolate avery night from 9 to 12, served by a smiling butler, make you feel as if you still lived in that era. Also, i like the personal touch of having the bedrooms named after theater actors, artists and writers of that period. I like the fact it's elegant but not luxurious in an obvious manner.
the bathroom of my room was not up to the room's standards. it would need heated towel racks and a clearer explanation of how to operate the shower, somewhat of an enigma.
What station the Drake Hotel. Made us feel as though we were having Christmas with family. And Christmas lunch was the best
Having traveled 50 years on business and now retired, my belief is that the Draycott is in the top 1% of fine hotels in it's Class.
Pretty much everything
Wasn't cheap Little bit far out west for me (but great if you're in London for the posh shops)
Directions to the breakfast room are nowhere to be found . Waiter in the breakfast room was very pushy. I was waiting for my wife which I explained. Still the waiter kept asking for my order. One newspaper is not enough!
The staff!!! The room and the sitting rooms
bags of linens in hallway
with pre-authorized payment they reserved twice the money for more than 7 days. very unfair.
Everything... Third time here and always the same feeling: being home!
ambience, attitude and comfort
everything the staff were lovely and made every effort ( including providing me with gluten-free bread at breakfast - an a very tasty one , i might add ) to make our stay a pleasure. the suite was lovely, very comfortable, and had everything we needed. the location of course is tops - close to everything in the best location in london - preferable even to mayfair. we will defintely recommend the Draycott to one and all.
no complaints whatsoever
Staff are terrific. Location is great for sleep and peaceful moments during the day. No noisy bar.
Travel connections can be a bit awkward depending on one's primary areas of interest in London. Breakfast and in-room bar charges are on the high side.
the complementary tea and drink after 4h
The staff were excellent and hotel interiors beautiful. Location is the best just off sloane square. Champagne served on arrival and hot chocolate for bed. Wonderful.
Beautiful experience. Wonderful service. Happy hour every day with glass of bubbly. Plenty of room and fab location for shopping on kings road.
Noise from upstairs late at night. Sounded like chairs being dragged across a wooden floor. Also pipe/water noises. Walls are not sound proof.
It is a small traditional 5 star boutique hotel.
The bedroom which I have stayed in before is very small and with the small window and no view it would not be ideal for more than one or two nights. Good value however.
Very good location, garden, snacks in the lobby, room design.
* At night my "non-smoking" room was filled with smoke (!) from the smokers from the neighboring rooms, who went out into the garden to smoke. * The hotel stays near the Tube station, so that you can feel and hear the trains passing beneath till late night and from early morning on the lower floors. * breakfast is average, but good quality dining facilities are in the basement. * if you wish to change your travelling schedule and reservation (i.e. to leave early) - forget it! they are less flexible then any luxury chain (Four Seasons for a comparison), unusual for a boutique hotel. So I had to pay the full price of stay in spite of early warning (more then 72h before the date) about changed schedule. The presonnel was avoiding the discussion re the change of reservation dates (giving promises that they will settle down this somehow) until the very last moment of check out when they simply charged the full price and I had no time to discuss, rushing to the airport. Which was, well... disappointing at least.
we had room in the lower level, which is not too attractive
The staff were extremely pleasant. The champagne offered every evening. The location near to the Royal Court Theatre.
Only 2 very small lounges but guests allowed to "skype" at full volume for over half an hour despite a notice saying no mobile phones. Rather spoilt the pleasant atmosphere and the staff did nothing to stop them!
Tranquility and staff
This hotel is a gem. On a seven week visit to Europe staying at many good hotels, this hotel is the epitome, it is very hard to find any fault.
Leaving the hotel
Location, friendly staff, superb housing&furniture, excellent breackfast, astonishing park, even (bit strange for London) fabulous weather. Perfectly connected via tube and buses, at walking distance from touristic central London, good restaurants nearby (Manicomio etc.)
Staff and service probably among the best in London.
Not all rooms have DVD and/or CD players
Excellent service . Very friendly staff . Spacious room. Cosy atmosphere in the lounges . A wonderful stay . I look forward to go back to Draycott hotel again . Tommy Frank . Denmark
Good location, nice bed, comfortable .
A little bit cold in our room, even we the air condition was put off. Maybe it can not be controlled in the room.
