After booking into hotel the reception looked very nice staff were freindly but as we headed up the stairs to our room we started to feel dread. They had run out of paint on ceiling and walls and was getting dirtier as we went up the stairs. The room was even worse was very dirty and cobwebs on window frame we decided we could not stay there and asked for our money back as they had no more rooms available. Would not recomend this hotel.this hotel was nothing like photos on internet.

The hotel was spotless clean.Beds were comfortable.Location is good. Nice and warm.Meals were fine. Hotel decor in rooms a little tired ,can do with a little spruce up but it is an old hotel and to be expected.

Room was nice and warm.Hot water was hot.Tea-making facilities were adequate.Room was a comfortable size.Breakfast was excellent with a quick and friendly service.Just a short walk to breakfast room.Slept well with no external noise. Room door rattled a bit and I was never too sure if it was secure. I couldn't get used to the hand held shower spray.Used to having both hands free to wash.My wife had trouble with opening the screen door after showering but it was easy to use after initial panic. The only real problem was the car parking facility. We didn't find a sign to show were the hotel car park was and ended up in the council car park. When we booked in the receptionist enlightened us.Even then I wasn't comfortable using it.Didn't feel like a car park.I would have rated the hotel higher if this situation was improved.

The hotel was in poor decorative order with for example wallpaper coming off walls in our room. Breakfast was ofr a poor standard and though staff were pleasant they were not usually available .

The price is important to me as I am just travelling through. But it is kept clean even if basic and the manager always tries to do his best. It is a no fuss hotel.

location great, this hotel could be one off the best in the highlands but for this to happen the owners would have to spend a lot of money to bring it back to what it must of been twenty years ago. and the out buildings at the rear of the hotel needs to be removed and the car park made bigger.
