The staff were very helpful, and the food was good. The bed was very comfortable. The view from the room was of the car park, which needs a complete overhaul and a derelict chalet which needs to be knocked down. The shower was basic. Our room had a vey stiff door which could be difficult to open.

The hotel is well placed and acts as a centre point to work from. The staff are friendly and very willing to help when ever they can. The night life in and around the hotel is very good and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast would have been so much beter with beans and mushrooms. My first time in a hotel that does not have beans on the menu. Fried bread would have been nice too but that's just me :)

Room was warm and comfortable. Dissapointed that, because of a function, there were no evening meals available.Nothing was done to encourage us to stay in the hotel in the evening.

The hotel is good value for money (I paid £30 for a single room), but the trade-off was poor service. There was load talking and speaking in the corridor between 2 - 4am and the hotel made no attempt to keep guests quiet after 11pm. Therefore I got little sleep and a poor response from staff when I complained the following morning.

The Dreadnought Hotel is ideally situated in the Trossachs area which is ideal for forest walking and hillwalking. The Dreadnought Hotel is an old building and the general fabric of the interior is rather shabby and old-fashioned. However this did not detract from our enjoyment of the short break holiday.

The hotel was in poor decorative order with for example wallpaper coming off walls in our room. Breakfast was ofr a poor standard and though staff were pleasant they were not usually available .

Clean, comfortable single room with adequate facilities and a surprisingly good shower. Booked in for a cycling weekend and will definitely be back. Excellent value for money. Friendly, helpfull staff. Excellent location. A bit worn in places but it is an old building.

The location on the main street was good. There was also clean and fresh laundry. Breakfast was ok. The interior of the building was very dilapidated. There were threadbare carpets, 1970s decor with shabby furniture. The shower room was adequate but the shower itself was inadequate. The corridors were sadly neglected with sqeeky floorboards/old carpets and holes in the walls. The car park was barely accessible and once in there, we were surrounded by derilect buildings.

The price is important to me as I am just travelling through. But it is kept clean even if basic and the manager always tries to do his best. It is a no fuss hotel.

location great, this hotel could be one off the best in the highlands but for this to happen the owners would have to spend a lot of money to bring it back to what it must of been twenty years ago. and the out buildings at the rear of the hotel needs to be removed and the car park made bigger.

Location was good for centre of Callander easy to find. Staff were reasonably helpful but not adequately trained. Building was interesting and had great potential. Carpet in room looked dirty. Shower was useless only lukewarm water. Tv was too high and too near to watch. Bed comfortable and clean but furniture and general appearance of room was shabby and badly planned, It was a building which could have looked great but was run down and dated. Reception desk was not staffed and had a long wait to book in was handed key and told room was upstairs but they had no idea where.
