A friendly atmosphere staff were always accommodating we felt happy to be there
The beds were well used but must say I did sleep so may not be a dislike
Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was reasonable, staff were very good.
Room was freezing, bathroom had no heating at all. Same with the bar and dining room, very cold. Didn't like the fact that had to pay when registering rather than when leaving which is what normally happens in my experience.
cold in dining room, would have been better to serve breakfasts in bar lounge area
Very central in Callander. Staff friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable. Room quite and clean.
It was central to what we wanted to do.
A bit slow on getting cooked breakfast in hot trays as customers were waiting for a while
Location Price Able to have dogs
Lukewarm shower Bed sinks in the middle Un cleaned
My husband and I both felt our bedroom distinctly smelt of stale smoke. A staff member whom we spoke to at reception stated she had been in the room earlier and definitely had not smelt anything. This comment made us feel a bit silly. As there were a number of bus parties staying in hotel there were no other rooms availabe. The receptionist offered a refund which we accepted. We were very fortunate in finding excellent alternative accomodation in the Waverly hotel where, despite arriving at a busy time for them, we were given a very warm welcome and an excellent room.
Was nice enough room for the money.
Noise from Toilet Cistern and bed wasn't too comfy.
Being able to find acceptable, convenient accommodation at short notice during the Ryder Cup weekend.
Very tired hotel. Waste bin in room not emptied when we arrived or .over a 2-night stay. Noisy (as directly adjacent to the main road, and on ground floor)
The staff Beds were comoftable Bathroom was clean Good breakfast
Couldn't get the radiators to work Windows were really hard to shut Function room directly downstairs so a lot of banging and music but we were understanding and overall weren't to bothered
relaxed @ friendly staff
loud heavy traffic noise through the night
no evening meal ,on returning from eating out just before 9pm we were told that the bar was closed so had no other option but to go up to our room and watch television
location was great, I love old buildings with great stories such as this hotel, city is simply beautiful, it was clean, quiet, I slept like a baby
The full thing was shocking accommodate was a disaster and staff had no organisation they are in the wrong game
Bar meals and location
No car parking
Spacious single room bright and airy with excellent views. Breakfast was just perfect.
A trunk road runs past the front off the hotel and with single glazing and heavy traffic throughout the night I eventually dropped off to sleep around 1am but then I was woken by other hotel clients returning to their rooms from the jazz festival by doors banging and people talking on the landing. And finally a loud crashing in the next room when something must have been knocked into their bath. By this time I gave up and made a cup of tea.
no breakfast included in price. for the amount it is to stay in a room, no even a slice of toast is pretty poor!
Receptionist was friendly
Room was awful. Peeling wallpaper. Sound of upstairs room flushing toilet. The waste water pipe actually situated on our rooms ceiling. Consequently every time the persons above went to the toilet during the night we heard the "tinkling" then the flush of water racing across the ceiling. Could say more but I guess no-one would be willing to accept that thie room was well below the standards expected..
Bedrooms were nice - staff lovely - easy access to events in the town
Carpets in communal areas not clean - shower not very powerful- porridge cold on one of the mornings
Daily Roast dinner 5 pounds 99 excellent value
Noisy bar across the street. Bad food. Had no hot water, bed was terrible. Room wasn't cleaned daily
No wifi in the room. Wifi only available in parts of the bar. Car parking not available. No phone in the room. Room was not made up during stay. Smoking room requested not provided.
Beds are comfortable
Looks very tired, not very clean.
Central town location. Reasonable price for a stay.
Rooms could do with updating ie old shower unit. Old carpets , cleanish room ,
Staff, McNabs bar and food, value for money, clean.
Hotel decor is tired, Room noisey overlooking main road, no double glazing.
