Poor rooms cobweb on ceiling never saw front of house stuff until check out poor overall
its cheap and cheerful for a girls/boys night. As it stands at present it does what it says on the tin and serves a purpose.
The lift has a carpet on the walls Not for a romantic couple weekend.
The location of this hotel is ideally suited to enjoying all the Trossachs have to offer and is very close to beautiful walks in the woods and Bracklinn Falls. When asking the Front Desk (Lindsay) where to eat or what to see, he was most helpful and enthusiastic about what he had to share with us.
Ancient but functional elevator. Hotel is showing its age and could use a little more attention. Wifi only available downstairs and not on the rooms.
passed its best
Location is great, not that Callender is big, but anyway. There is parking lot nearby and the variety of foods offered is satisfying. Rooms are big, all you need is included.
toilet did not flush in our room, some renovation will help.
That I hadn't paid 'full price'!
Being delayed for 45mins waiting for breakfast. Decor and general presentation of hotel.
helpful staff, classic hotel style, i.e. wide staircase
limited bar menu, bar staff not always there
location friendly staff great entertainment quick service value for money
location of bedroom (noise from lift and slamming doors) other guests trying to get into wrong room breakfast portion very small
The location. The bar.
Sleeping on the floor (no extra bed for the child).
Had nice comfy bed and was good to have a bath with a shower I had no hairdryer in room but when I asked a member of staff they where more than helpful and very friendly
I would have preferred a wardrobe with cupboards on it and there was no drawers in unit also had to pull bed away from wall to get into bed this would be a problem for some elderly folk that maybe couldn't climb into and over bed but bed was very comfy when I got in
Close enough to Stirling to spend time at Stirling Castle
The state of the car park. The trek from our car through muddy puddles to the hotel entrance in the rain. The run-down appearance of the back of the hotel. The slow, off-hand 'welcome'.
Clean and cheap place to stay for a couple of nights whilst attending a wedding. Nice location in a lovely little town with nice places to eat and drink.
No double glazing so every noise from the street could be heard and Callander has a busy nightlife! No consideration from other guests, doors banging and people talking loudly to each other until early hours of the morning.
Room 117 was excellent as the view from the bay style window was excellent. We were situated in the turret end of the hotel. Bar staff were excellent, food ( roast of the day ) was actually enjoyable. Breakfast was brilliant, Hotel was well worth the money. Would definitely go back. Location ideal
Hotel needs upgraded ( Lick of paint ) we like the rustic look but small things make a big difference.
Central location.Friendly staff. Comfy room.
The restaurant and charm were great. Convenient stopping place on your way into the highlands.
Seemed to never have hot water, but it was always just warm enough not to be unpleasant.
location. price. breakfast
Our stay was absolute dreadful would not recommend this hotel at all
I enjoyed the experience, the room was clean & very quiet. the restaurant offered very good value indeed & there is a large free car park, after hours which enabled me to park a van.
Price was reasonable and well-located in the centre of town
Bathroom was not totally clean. Parking area had limited space and was not easy to access. Outbuildings at rear of hotel and general condition of parking area was untidy . A vegetarian cooked breakfast would have been welcome.
Lift too small. Car park dingy and short of space. Staff interest in customers not quite up to level I like.
The room size was good
The hotel was old and tired. Could do with a lick of paint and new carpet thoughout.
There was a horrible smell in the hallway their was stains on the carpet in the reception and all along the hallway the lift is unsafe and there was a 1.5 inch gap all the way around the door to the room the staff at breakfast were not very helpful at all, they tryed to charge extra for the breakfast that we already had paid for.
Room was filthy. Poor decoration. Stink of stale smoke in room. Staff poor. Bed uncomfortable. Not a nice experience at all.
