The location with some good walks and views. Excellent friendly staff. Good food and value for money. Ideal base for touring the area with stunning scenery and drives. The pool and other facilities were first class.
Brilliant location, peaceful and scenic.
Bar and food prices appeared high, we did not have an evening meal at the hotel. The full English breakfast was often dry as if it had been on reheat for a long time.
Location,Facilities,Options for activities, Peacfulness, cleanliness of site
The access road form Rest and Be Thankful to the Village.
Bistro restaurant was excellent. had the place to ourselves and top quality food.
rob roy bar was very basic and well used. food average.
Location is brilliant.
Impersonal staff. Bed uncomfortable. Wifi reception useless in hotel; coffee ar breakfast horrible
View from bedroom of the loch, remote location, the castle hotel, the four poster bed, the powerful shower, the walks nearby, cost cutters shop selling wine, friendly staff.
Hotel cheapened by Tacky signs in the hotel, rough toilet paper, grotty carpets in the en-suite, paper thin walls so felt like we were sharing a room with the guests in the next room, breakfast used the cheapest ingredients like value white bread and horrible instant coffee, eggs so overdone they were inedible. Jacuzzi out of order and so many extra costs to use other facilities.
Four poster room Lovely staff notably Anna! Good food and good value
The floor in the spa changing room desperately needs a go with the pressure washer as it was quite dirty. Stood out as everything else was so clean and cared fir
Lovely genuine staff , comfy beds clean big rooms loved it and would book again
Steam room didn't work.
The surrounding landscape, Lochgoilhead is beautiful, shame about the hotel.
The hotel was tired and dirty, the staff were indifferent, we were given a windowless room, with no natural light, poor air conditioning, an ill fitting fire door poor fitting, dirty carpet and surfaces and the mattress thin and uncomfortable.
The location and the hotel grounds
The family bedroom with no window, which i overlooked when bookin, is very claustrophobic and we would not do one again especially with such fantastic views outside. The hotel is mazy and dated with little charm. The brilliant weather and setting saved the trip.
Staff very helpful and pleasant and excellent location . House requires refurbishement and upgrade ? Breakfast requires upgrading should look at continental breakfast should look at the continent for the way it should be done?
The whole hotel service was not there?
The hotel needs updating.
Staff very helpful and pleasant, pool lovely, wifi
shop poor selection - understandable at end of season but we were peak. No window in inner family so while very comfortable overall a little institutional.
Surrounds we're tasteful and elegant
The staff was very kind and the room very large and nice
We liked the room and the activities available.
Nice room ...great view .
Breakfast was a let down ..after staying here for the third time ,was disappointed,no breakfast was served in the Castle dining room .As it was excellent .Not this time ,being served in the main hall...was like being in a works canteen.
The location was excellent and fantastic views staff were friendly
The breakfast was poor lack of choice for the amount of money paying for room
Promise and photo of a castle. And we did not even stay near or close to the castle. False advertising. Staff was clueless when we complained and did not even care when we did so. Not worth the detour. The kids and we were very disappointed.
I thought the customer service was absolutely first class. Really kind, welcoming, great attitude to there job. Everyone I spoke to on my stay didn't have a bad word to say about the resort. Top class facilities. Great entertainment.
The only thing I didn't enjoy was the wasps. That's no fault of the resort. Or the people who work there. That's something thats apart of nature, that surrounds the beautiful place.
The bowling area was directly above our room - it was very noisy until 9pm when the bowling stops. We had to stay out of our room until 9pm to avoid the racket. We ordered lunch packs instead of breakfast due to our early departure the next morning. Only one lunch pack was provided instead of two. We called reception twice to inform the hotel & complain & were told the duty manager would call us back. More than a week later I still have not had any contact or compensation. Very poor service!!
Location was stunning! Children enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna. Food was good and staff very friendly and helpful. Family room was a good size and very clean.
Felt there could have been a few more options for dinner. Also having to pay each time the children used the soft play area.
Beautiful landscape Activities for kids Rusty
The breakfast was the worst Overpriced food Felt like microwavefood Too many trainees working the same shifts Tap water was brown They have rooms with no windows Expensive kids play area
Room was an excellent size with a large comfortable bed; although let down by having no windows in the room. The room and facilities were clean Excellent choice of facilities and activities included within the room price
Complained about a barking dog waking us early in the morning on the day we checked out. The member of staff on the reception desk only said sorry but didn't offer to take this further. If they are going to allow dogs in the hotel they need to ensure that their owners are held accountable for any adverse impact on other guests. Residents breakfast served in area of function room and had a transport cafe feel rather than hotel; suggest they would be better serving residents breakfast in the Rob Roy Bar.
