Setting was lovely .Staff nice but really busy. Room comfortable.
No where no get away frrom children .fireside bar not open and Bistro only open 2nights of our stay. Friends came to vist and nearest place they could park their camper van overnight was 12miles away although loads of room for such a facility nearby. The hotel lost custom because of this.
Lots to do for kids. Beautiful setting.
The room was tired looking and the air conditioning unhealthy - and loud. Didn't sleep a wink on my stay :( Felt a bit like accommodation for school trips.
Location was stunning. Hotel very comfortable.
When it said golf and spa hotel it seemed like a wonderful get away for us as a couple. The photos and comments seemed to exclude the fact that it is in a large family /kids resort and the spa is more like a kids leisure centre. We still had a good time but not the romantic getaway we had quite planned for! Great for taking away a family though.
Location Staff Facilities
Carpets, wallpaper and fixtures were all very old and tired and looked grubby. Hotel is a beautiful building with some excellent original features but is let down by the tiredness of the decor
We stayed in the main building big and classical clean great views 8/10 plenty of amenities for kids seem to be loads of children everywhere and old people all enjoying themselves breakfast 1/10I have to say was extraordinarily low quality in fact it was a lowest quality experienced dinner was quite good but it was very overpriced for What it was 4/10 if you stay there and bring your own food. ... Or book a table in one of two or three restaurants the location is fantastic
Staff were very good building was nice and clean I certainly would recommend staying in
The food was fantastic, the staff were helpful, friendly and we really enjoyed chatting to the bar staff in particular in the Fireside Bar, exactly what we wanted from our 1 night break. The 9 hole golf course was great and again just what we expected. The manager Aileen tried to help by arranging for us to have our meal in the Fireside Bar and that was appreciated.
The bedroom was adequate, bit scruffy but very clean with a lovely large bathroom which unfortunately had a carpet! We were unable to use the residents lounge, as there was a private function on and as we were looking for a quiet time away to recharge and unwind, we only had the chance for 1 night and we really didn't want the hustle and bustle of the busy family bars which had entertainment this was a bit disappointing.
Friendliness of staff. Lovely location.
The hotel is situated in an ideal location with excellent facilities to hand. The surrounding scenery was also spectacular.
The hotel room that we were staying in didn't appear to be the cleanest (notably from finding several long blonde hairs on the bed, the bathroom and on the carpets. Neither myself or my partner have long blonde hair!). The supplied white towels in the bathroom also appeared to be stained, so we didn't use these either.
Loved the location, stunning scenery. Excellent staff, made you feel welcome and always helpful. Plenty to do for energetic and the sedentary. Easy to operate from for day trips to sample the local seafood and taste a few wee drams.
Not a criticism - Decor a little dated.... But you can say that about most similar accommodation in UK
Friendly hotel, lots to do especially for the kids. Lovely surroundings, lovely walks near by. Staff very friendly & helpful. Room was lovely and there was plenty of room. Food is good too.
Steam room wasn't working but we did report it.
Huge bathtub with great hot water
No elevator to the room
Scenery Room basic but clean continental breakfast very good staff friendly
food not a good variety soup was tepid bacon overdone tea coffee not very hot water quality poor this was not the hotels fault bar prices high
uncomfortable beds - they should at least invest in mattress toppers .very noisy karaoke and very slow breakfast service
bed was comfortable and linen clean, breakfast was very good
tv reception not good, staff were generally ok but took a while to get a coffee when we arrived. bathroom carpet looked grubby & door wouldnt shut
views and golf course on site and nice walks
Bar and Restaurant in hotel only opened weekends at this time of year and Shore Restaurant closed Monday and Tuesday as it was a celebration only place opened was Goil hotel where we could have a meal in the evening food was not great .
Bedrooms in castle need refurbished especially the bathrooms. No hair dryer & TV didn't work.
The location with some good walks and views. Excellent friendly staff. Good food and value for money. Ideal base for touring the area with stunning scenery and drives. The pool and other facilities were first class.
Brilliant location, peaceful and scenic.
Bar and food prices appeared high, we did not have an evening meal at the hotel. The full English breakfast was often dry as if it had been on reheat for a long time.
Location,Facilities,Options for activities, Peacfulness, cleanliness of site
The access road form Rest and Be Thankful to the Village.
Bistro restaurant was excellent. had the place to ourselves and top quality food.
rob roy bar was very basic and well used. food average.
Location is brilliant.
Impersonal staff. Bed uncomfortable. Wifi reception useless in hotel; coffee ar breakfast horrible
View from bedroom of the loch, remote location, the castle hotel, the four poster bed, the powerful shower, the walks nearby, cost cutters shop selling wine, friendly staff.
Hotel cheapened by Tacky signs in the hotel, rough toilet paper, grotty carpets in the en-suite, paper thin walls so felt like we were sharing a room with the guests in the next room, breakfast used the cheapest ingredients like value white bread and horrible instant coffee, eggs so overdone they were inedible. Jacuzzi out of order and so many extra costs to use other facilities.
Expensive drinks. Misleading advertising, that makes you think the hotel is away from main leisure Park but is actually a few rooms attached to the main building of the park - no warning that there was an indoor bowls Green above our room
The photos on Booking.com are very enticing, showing a large stately Home. Not once does it state that it is in the middle of a caravan park and that the rooms are beneath the Indoor pool, in a tacky added on building! No where near the House. Unfortunately our money was taken the minute we booked on the Internet, otherwise we would have driven elsewhere. Booking.com should get the Hotel to state clearly that accommodation is not in the Home, even though photos look as if they are.
Four poster room Lovely staff notably Anna! Good food and good value
The floor in the spa changing room desperately needs a go with the pressure washer as it was quite dirty. Stood out as everything else was so clean and cared fir
