Great location if you want to be in the student nightlife district of Manchester which we did. Staff helpful and room ok, TV, kettle etc were good to have. It was clean but I will say that the room and bathroom is old, desperately needs redecorating and the corridors reminded me off student halls! But for a great night out and a place to put your head down it was fine. My boyfriend and I don't care where we are as we just love getting away together as much as our small pay cheques will allow, but if you're after luxury, avoid!!
Another of the guests told me that they had seen people (not guests) trying the doors in the hotel during the night, which was a bit un-nerving but the rooms are secure enough. I also think that the building looks terrible from the outside, really run down!
Good location for food. Weatherspoons and McDonalds only a short walk.
The comfort of the room was poor in that the bed was so old you could feel the springs.
The location was some distance from the city. The place needs a complete refurbishment but for the price you cannot grumble
Cheap & free parking.
Pretty dated, but what do you expect for the price
Smelly carpets dirty smelly bath room I will never stay there again Wast of money
All staff were extremely helpful, they gave a relaxed welcoming feeling, only spent 2 nights there but would defo return. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the laid back pleasant staff. I I was to return to manchester that would be my choice of accommodation
The entrance to the lodge rooms and the net curtains (very dated)
Nice and quiet location set back from the main road. Also, bus stops to town are right outside, and the train station is fifteen minutes walk away.
Very much feels and looks like it was built in the 1970s, and in need of a revamp.
Assistance from the people working there, special named to the girl at afternoon and night, who help us with some issues and was really kind! Has supermarkets near and the bar and restaurant in the front were excellent! We drink coffee in the room wile watching tv and look for things in the internet in the room.
The bed need to be change, my wife present, at the other day, marks in the hip.
location is nearby the university plenty of shops nearby easy to drive to private parking spacious room, big bathroom overall good value for money
shower curtain too thin or light, it moves towards the shower water old building, could use a bit redecoration but not too much some cigarette smoke smell detected even though building is non-smoking but for the price, it's quite allright
I was there for one night, the room was nice and cleaned, the wifi was perfect, not too far from the city center.
value for money, considering it was booked on the day I booked a single room, was asked if I wanted a double bed; relatively clean, over 700 of TV channels
the room stinked of smoking, though the sign on the door was @No smoking. bathtub needs a good scrub no internet in the room, only in the bar, where the music was groovy and blaring, even I had a business meeting there, asked the staff to turn it down a bit, they refused, directing me to a bit quieter corner, where internet sort of worked, but the was no phone reception
Is on a main bus route so although not near city centre you can get there for £1 on the bus.
Cat litter tray under radiator in room, presumably to catch leaks. mildew in bathroom with overall 'damp' smell Thin mattress with basic bedding fire safety instructions stuck to back of door with masking tape taps in bathroom both had red tops although one was actually a cold tap door hinge hanging off on top of door door entry code didn't work every time and took a couple of goes to work
The new Rams Restaurant next to the Lodge Silent Environment
Wifi isn't available in every room
In the heart of the student area where I used to live.
Could be cleaner. But for the price, you can't complain.
Bed was comfortable Kettle tea bags/milk provided Clean towels Quiet even at the weekend
The decor could do with a bit of a spruce up... Didn't bother us that much though
People smoking weed inside building. People been loud on floor landing. Bed wasn't comfortable. Toilet wouldn't flush properly. Wouldn't recommend
Easy check out. You just drop the keys in the mail box on your exit. Cheap (ish)
Noise at 5am in the morning. People talking loudly at parking lot right under our windows. The place is smelly and run down, and a bit scary. There was a huge Polish dude with tattoo across his neck wearing sports outfit loitering in car park in the night. We thought our car will go missing next day. :) But it was all fine. Phew. We didn't have a courage to take a shower.
Nothing in particular.
The rooms are filthy (in particular the carpets and some of the utilities) the shower was more or less just a pipe from the wall. Our door (which is suppose to be a measure of security) didn't even function correctly, you could easily break into the room by just a firm push (not safe at all) and the whole place stank of what seemingly was cannabis ( not sure if that's even illegal) so overall disappointment and no refund! AVOID!!!
Windows couldn' t open far
Bit of a dump
close to town,buses frequent
place smelt of smoke, toe nail clippings on floor by the bed, curtain hanging down, bath in bad condition and mould on ceiling, breakfast was advertised but main building was all closed up next morning
