It's a handy location with regular buses throughout day and night. Only 15 mins from city centre and loads of shops (inc. Sainsbury, tesco) and food places near by. Staff were friendly and polite, especially the guy that runs the food bar on the hotel grounds, he couldn't help us enough. Bar staff were lovely and drink prices are fairly cheap. Food bar serves really nice food with plenty of options.
The room was dirty, stains on the walls, door handles. Holes in the ceiling and door. Spiders nest above bed. Filthy curtains and giant ladybugs on the windows. The heating did not work so we were supplied with a fan heater. The shower in the room did not work and the bath was stained and filthy looking as was the grouting on the tiles. The sink was cracked also. One of the beds were broken so slanted down every time one of us sat on it or slept on it. Although staff were friendly the receptionist seemed like he did not want to be there or want to help us with anything, he couldn't look us in the eye and would continue to look at his laptop while speaking, which came across as ignorant.
The room was clean, the bed comfy and the en suite bathroom was fine. The shower was amazing! Exactly what I needed for a cheap, short business trip at the university. All hours access so no problem staying out late. Didn't have any problems with noise from fellow residents or the pub. Short bus journey into town on the cheap student buses.
The room got a bit chilly because the heating is centrally controlled.
Perfect for a one night stay! Cannot argue about the cost! I've stayed with the ram about three times now never had any trouble!
cheap . good food in the lodge
room a bit tired
This room worth a GBP 10 max.
Not a lot
The hotel was attached to a run down pub which was full of young people. The hotel rooms were worn, dirty. Didn't see any staff except the chap who we signed in with in the pub. He was fine but other than that it was an expensive bed. Because of the state of the hotel we breakfasted elsewhere.
Really cheap rooms and perfect for a single night out in Manchester but not ideal for couples.
Really dirty room and scary looking location.
Turning up and looking at a catle shed
The price for a room in Manchester when booking at the last moment.
You get what you pay for.
Free wifi that works Free Parking Location is convenient for south Manchester
Dirty Other guests smoke in their rooms No chance of breakfast
The room was nice and clean
Mattress on bed was very uncomfortable if this was changed we'd stay again
Turning round and leaving
Mary had a better bed in the stables one christmas, I'd avoid this place at all costs. Stained mattress and sheets, carpet not even been hoovered, bathroom was a mess, dirty and in need of urgent updating. We didn't stay, my big mistake was paying before I'd seen the room. Never again
Easy to get to Nice big busy pub Room is at the back away from the noise Great value for money
The room was filthy.
weird location, at the back of the pub, the 'hotel reception' is in the pub!! Doors looked like they could be broken down easily, room was full of stains, couldn't shower as the bathroom was dirty and shower curtains were stained
cheapish. behind the pub
tv broken not all plug sockets worked sealent around bath was not all there when you filled the bath with water the gap between the bath and tiles got larger
The location is ideal coz I like going to Curry Mile to chill. The room sizes are perfect and I like the fact that all if the rooms are ensuit.
The bathroom facilities need to be improved especially the bath tub, needs to be cleaned or changed and shower curtains changed too
Kettle in the room for having breakfast It is a cheap hostel
Appearance, worn out bathroom, untidy, not very good room service
The room was very very dated mould on cillings in bathroom and around bathroom overall terrible but there is worse in manchester park villa to name one cant understand why its so hard to get somewhere clean in manchester
The pub was great and bar staff were really friendly. The location was great as you just walked a minute up the road and cross over and theres a bus stop. Buses near enough every few mins and only cost £1 to get to town.
The noise from other guests on saturday nite kept me awake til 6.30am! The bathroom was covered in mould so didnt use the bath or shower! The bed was like sleeping on a bed of nails, the springs were almost thru the matress. Also no management around and no breakfast available til 9.30/10 am only on a weekend nothing thru the week!!!
Great location if you want to be in the student nightlife district of Manchester which we did. Staff helpful and room ok, TV, kettle etc were good to have. It was clean but I will say that the room and bathroom is old, desperately needs redecorating and the corridors reminded me off student halls! But for a great night out and a place to put your head down it was fine. My boyfriend and I don't care where we are as we just love getting away together as much as our small pay cheques will allow, but if you're after luxury, avoid!!
Another of the guests told me that they had seen people (not guests) trying the doors in the hotel during the night, which was a bit un-nerving but the rooms are secure enough. I also think that the building looks terrible from the outside, really run down!
Good location for food. Weatherspoons and McDonalds only a short walk.
The comfort of the room was poor in that the bed was so old you could feel the springs.
The location was some distance from the city. The place needs a complete refurbishment but for the price you cannot grumble
Cheap & free parking.
Pretty dated, but what do you expect for the price
