Exceptionally friendly staff
Room above smoking area, luckily not many smokers out!
Excellent breakfasts friendly staff nice restaurant room clean accommodation and bedding liked having TV with DVD player
very basic rooms. Could be noisy from the public bar area in the evenings as our room was not too far away from smoking area below. The room was quite dark as it looked out on to a grey wall. I think if you were only staying one or two nights it would be fine but we booked for seven days.
On main road, convince.
A little old fashion, but with character.
Because the price was so cheap I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised . Huge comfy bed, lovely breakfast and very close to the town centre.
Breakfast was excellent and very well prepared.
The booking said no need to book parking.....wrong! I had to park on the public road and move to a pay and display car park by 8am. The hotel car park which is big enough for only about 6 cars had 2 large builders van and one car in.
Even though rooms are upstairs from the bar, my room was lovely and quite. My room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfy. But the best bit by far, was breakfast, the chef cooked my scrambled eggs perfectly :)
Very noisy until very late at night and early morning.
We were more than surprised by the nice room. Walking into a small town pub and considering the low price we expected nothing. However, the hallway and rooms seemed freshly renovated. The bathroom was new and very clean. The breakfast was very nice since freshly made. Personal was helpful and cleared parking spot for us. We learned not to do judge anything by the outside! We can only recommend it!!!
Nothing to dislike.
We enjoyed the friendly helpful staff, and the well cooked morning breakfast. The hotel was very convenient for Bulwark Park and the town centre, as it was also a good base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. We stayed for two nights while we attended a local event as participants.
The water in the shower was cold. It required switching on the fan to become warm and operational. The previous occupants must have switched the circuit off as it was noisy. Noise was also apparent when the bar was open, as sound was transmitted upwards through the canyon of bricks which surrounded the allleyway just outside the bedroom window, though staff successfully managed the opening hours of the pub which mitigated the intrusion.
Located in the center of town, very good offerings for breakfast
Room was very noisy until late at night when the pub was open
The staff were friendly and very accommodating in allowing us an early check in. The room was clean and the breakfast was very nice.
The room was over a very busy pub, so for the one night we stayed in the room it was very loud until closing time. Not a problem for us but could bother other people.
staff great, breakfast & the chef superb
walls are thing, drunk people runing in the corridors shouting & fighting (fueled from the pub downstairs), was a struggle to get some good night sleep.
Music from bar was rediculous when trying to sleep at 23:00 at night whilst trying to sleep!! Must really hard fpr local residents if that is happening on a daily basis!! Baring in mind this was mid week and on weekends it is probably louder. Stay there regularily as its cheapest with out being to bad.
The windows are old and not soundproof so we were kept awake until 3am by the people in the pub next door and we were given the wrong times for breakfast
Bar staff looking At phone all the time cheap breakfast sausages and greasy. noisy when arrived with stag party remenants
The mattress was very uncomfortable!
Ok for a pub
Room only Had bins emptied once in the week we stayed.
Breakfast was fantastic. Staff we're very friendly. Very clean & comfortable.
Car park was very small & inadequate for the amount of rooms.
Conveniently located Good price
Room over disco and loud music till after midnight
It's just very noisy as you can hear what is happening to d people next door or upstairs. The walls are so thinxxx
On arrival the staff were very friendly. The room was very clean, and breakfast was lovely.
There was nothing we didnt like we only stayed one night. The rooms ate over a very busy pub this wasnt a problem for us but it could be if you wanted a quiet night.
Everything in perfect order!
The friendliness of the staff and helpfulness they gave in helping me with directions as I'm not from around there.
It was central
It was extremely noisy, for most of the night due to drunks from the hotel pub smoking in the alley below our room. The parking was behind the hotel where the staff park. We had to move the car twice so as not to inconvenience the staff or get parked in. It was also in clear violation of fire safety rules.
friendly staff good location clean room good breakfast
