Noisy - thin walls. Could hear guy on phone next door then snoring. Kept awake by hotel fan and the loo filling up.
Great place to relax and location was excellent for touring to the Brecon Beacons and the Gower Peninsula..The staff in the hotel were very helpful and made our stay most enjoyable..We had secure parking at the rear of the hotel for our motorcycles..
No problems at all..
Able to have breakfast at 7.00am
Excellent breakfast. The rooms have been re-furbished and were very nice. The staff were very helpful.
Those using the out-door smoking area were somewhat loud, and some of the rooms are directly above this area.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, location excellent, breakfast was spot on.
Bed was not good, no where to put a laptop and the screaming, yawping drunk women (?) were rather annoying when trying to sleep (thats being polite)
Cutlery Bar entrance Décor Bathroom Safety of kettle due to location of sockets Noise from bar
friendly run place and very nice place to stay. clean and fresh.breakfast very nice
noisy at weekends and maybe new beds they were comfortable but noisy.
the breakfast lay out was fantastic and thr room was very clean
there was nothing that i didnt like
Black mold around bath and shower. Walking through crowded drunks at bar to get to rooms upstairs. Having to listen to people in beer garden outside until past midnight.
Staff friendly, rooms clean, breakfast good.
Noisy in the extreme, including shouting and brawling in the next room until around 2am. Frightening!
Exceptionally friendly staff
Room above smoking area, luckily not many smokers out!
Excellent breakfasts friendly staff nice restaurant room clean accommodation and bedding liked having TV with DVD player
very basic rooms. Could be noisy from the public bar area in the evenings as our room was not too far away from smoking area below. The room was quite dark as it looked out on to a grey wall. I think if you were only staying one or two nights it would be fine but we booked for seven days.
If a pint of beer is £3 a half should be £1.50 not £1.60!
On main road, convince.
A little old fashion, but with character.
Because the price was so cheap I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised . Huge comfy bed, lovely breakfast and very close to the town centre.
Breakfast was excellent and very well prepared.
The booking said no need to book parking.....wrong! I had to park on the public road and move to a pay and display car park by 8am. The hotel car park which is big enough for only about 6 cars had 2 large builders van and one car in.
Even though rooms are upstairs from the bar, my room was lovely and quite. My room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfy. But the best bit by far, was breakfast, the chef cooked my scrambled eggs perfectly :)
Very noisy until very late at night and early morning.
We were more than surprised by the nice room. Walking into a small town pub and considering the low price we expected nothing. However, the hallway and rooms seemed freshly renovated. The bathroom was new and very clean. The breakfast was very nice since freshly made. Personal was helpful and cleared parking spot for us. We learned not to do judge anything by the outside! We can only recommend it!!!
Nothing to dislike.
We enjoyed the friendly helpful staff, and the well cooked morning breakfast. The hotel was very convenient for Bulwark Park and the town centre, as it was also a good base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. We stayed for two nights while we attended a local event as participants.
The water in the shower was cold. It required switching on the fan to become warm and operational. The previous occupants must have switched the circuit off as it was noisy. Noise was also apparent when the bar was open, as sound was transmitted upwards through the canyon of bricks which surrounded the allleyway just outside the bedroom window, though staff successfully managed the opening hours of the pub which mitigated the intrusion.
Located in the center of town, very good offerings for breakfast
Room was very noisy until late at night when the pub was open
The staff were friendly and very accommodating in allowing us an early check in. The room was clean and the breakfast was very nice.
The room was over a very busy pub, so for the one night we stayed in the room it was very loud until closing time. Not a problem for us but could bother other people.
staff great, breakfast & the chef superb
walls are thing, drunk people runing in the corridors shouting & fighting (fueled from the pub downstairs), was a struggle to get some good night sleep.
Music from bar was rediculous when trying to sleep at 23:00 at night whilst trying to sleep!! Must really hard fpr local residents if that is happening on a daily basis!! Baring in mind this was mid week and on weekends it is probably louder. Stay there regularily as its cheapest with out being to bad.
The windows are old and not soundproof so we were kept awake until 3am by the people in the pub next door and we were given the wrong times for breakfast
