Believed to be named after acclaimed surveyor Thomas Drummond, who used the site as a reference point in his calculations.
Local attractions include an 18 hole golf course and excellent salmon and coarse fishing available throughout the year. The beach offers 6 miles of unspoilt white sand and is recognised as one of the cleanest in Europe. Some of the rarest birds in the world can be seen in the area.
