The hotel was very traditional, quiet, peaceful, and we found it restful. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Hotel in general was lovely. Location perfect & very quiet & restful. Staff very friendly. The food was a big disappointment & really let the place down. Even the breakfast was pretty mediocre. L:imited cereal, no yoghurts, no kippers or smoked haddock.

Loved the setting with the ancient abbey ruins just outside the gardens.The gardens were a delight.Easy parking.Pleasant and spacious room.

Quiet location peaceful and relaxing.staff were friendly and helpful.my room had been freshly painted and looked really clean and updated.the room my friends were in looked as though it could benefit from the same.everything worked and the stay was very enjoyable. Menu didn't vary whilst there for 2 days and I was a little disappointed in choice available.I have stayed before and the food was exceptional.

Enjoyed the history of the place. The rooms were large and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was fabulous. The staff could not be more helpful. The grounds were lovely - so pretty looking over daffodils to the river nothing

No choice for a vegetarian after enquiring 3times if they catered for veggies. Food that was produced for main course was dry & tasteless. This was mentioned and waitress said she would tell the chef!! £35 menu!

Huge beds, fantastic surroundings. Restaurant was very good. Great selection of Whiskies in bar. Television was old, evidentally just in there to tick the box! Saying that I did not even turn it on.
