We have stayed several times, and are likely to stay again. We find it an excellent, comfortable and comforting base. There was a slight problem with our room key but it was sorted out promptly.

This is the hotel we choose to stay in for a special treat, such as birthdays or anniversaries. The rooms are lovely and as we have stayed many times it feels like a home from home for us. In the past we have had a relaxing stay and made our way down for breakfast around ten o'clock, they used to serve until after ten but it seems that they have changed it. This time we arrived at 9.55 am to find the buffet being cleared,we sat down at our usual table and waited to be served. The waitress came through and said they stopped service at ten,we asked if we could still order something, she got another Irish waitress to come through, who refused to serve us,when we complained she offered us pastries and coffee in the bar! We decided to go elsewhere,we told the girl at reception that we were unhappy and would really not expect this in a five star hotel, she admitted that it was a new time change. We really think they should tell you about this when you book in or have a card in the bedroom,it really spoiled our visit.

The staff are charming, smiley and attentive, but not overly so. Great beds! The rooms can be a bit dark particularly if you are a girl trying to do make-up in the morning!

This is without a doubt my favourite hotel in Scotland - bar none. Just utterly splendid. The staff with one exception - are just incredible. Big thumbs up for the young lady sommelier in the Bistro, as well as all front of house people. A delight to stay there again. The Maitre d in the restaurant that night was clearly having a bad day ... in future he should take the evening off if he's feeling stroppy.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, nice ambience Room decoration tired, electrical outlets non-standard and inaccessible. Electronic equipment dated. Plumbing issues. Worst of all, I was served wine costing more than twice what I ordered. Not good for a hotel that specialises in wine!

Well stocked mini bar Comfy bed Quiet Good breakfast The free toiletries , the body lotion wasn't nice smelling at all, I preferred the arran aromatics range the hotel previously provided. A very small negative point, in an otherwise perfect setting

The reception staff. The decor throughout the hotel. The location. The building itself. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Our room was on the top floor and felt a little 'attic-like'. The room was also very hot during the night.
