The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was clean, spacious and well furnished.
Our room should have been available from 3.00pm but was unavailable until 4.20pm. Whilst we were given a complimentary drink and the staff were apologetic this was not ideal as we were leaving for an engagement at 5.15pm. Also, the room had a very disappointing view over the rear of the building and felt cramped because extra furniture was too large - and really unnecessary.
Quiet and spacious room, well appointed. Excellent, helpful and efficient staff.
Breakfast service was rather disorganised and took it longer to be served than one expects in a hotel of this quality - though the food itself was very good. Very expensive hotel, though the prices matched comparable Cambridge hotels.
Language barrier with staff made them seem grumpy and rude
Thought the hotel was over priced and the meal is the Bistro was of poor quality and well over priced.
Great atmosphere and a lovely bistro. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. All in all, a good place with a comfortable bed, great food in the Bistro du Vin and friendly service
Bed clean and comfortable
Breakfast service poor Noise from ac fans in adjacent property Towel rail and bath water dangerously hot
Hotel and staff were good reception was empty when we arrived but still had a greeting with a smile when the receptionists arrived
The bistro was massively understaffed we waited over an hour for the first course , the second was inedible the fish pie was cold ,the lamb was cold and still had a pulse after two attempts the management need to address this issue urgently
Not good value for money. very expensive and I will not be staying at this hotel again
It was perfectly located and the cutest thing I've ever seen - which compliments the city quite well. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I love the little bistro!! Love dinner and breakfast
Very helpful staff, from arrival through to departure. Comfortable bedroom. Bistro is high quality.
The one relatively small room/library for guests was rarely accessible as booked out commercially.
Friendly staff, great quality service from staff, location
Breakfast service Room Service No turndown service
The bath tub in the bedroom is obviously a lovely feature for a romantic getaway. A lovely wide bed and all the refreshments available you could want. Spacious room and a lovely quirky building, for a city hotel the main building is full of character and a luxurious decor.
Television could of been bigger for the room size.. In a standard room it would of been fine. Not very sound prove... The couple next door sounded like they was enjoying the romantic setting!! My pillow smelt like damp washing and the bath was dirty and upon first filling I had a bath full of lime scale stones.
Location was good and hotel was quirky but characterful. The library was a nice place to sit and we were served a complimentary tea. Staff were pleasant.
Payment for offsite parking Not advised to book the restaurant. When we did go down for a meal no tables available so ate in our room. My wife's meal was incorrect so we we didn't eat together. On balance the stay was 3 star but the price 4 star.
The staff, especially William was helpful n made our stay very pleasant by upgrading us to a superior room on our 2nd nite.
Great welcome. Helpful, flexible and competent staff. Beautiful and stylish room, very clean. Excellent location. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.
Our only criticism concerns the door lock, which wasn't up to the standard of the room itself. It was very difficult to open and close with the room key. At least in our home country of Finland, the hotels (and countless other buildings) use electronic locks operated by plastic 'keys'.
attentiveness of staff, Bistro meal was also excellent
Great and very cozy ambiance, nice location - very close to the university, museums and nightlife area.
Breakfast buffet is somewhat limited, the room although very nice was extremely tiny, price tag is set too high + they start spamming with their newsletter after the stay.
we both enjoyed our stay ,good staff ,food and accommodations. ideal for punting, museums, collegies and shopping
just a small one as this is a old building the setup has quite a lot of stairs, but does have a lift and some rooms on the ground floor ,so need to let them know when booking if you are not so good on you feet and i am sure they will be able to accomodate your personnal needs
Convenient location for sll the colleges. Lovely period Hotel, proffessional staff, clean, good amenities e.g. bar and restaurant...a very enjoyable stay.
It was all good...
The welcome, the ambiance, the décor. Good beds. The staff were doing their best to be helpful.
The bistro was noisy and the service was slow. The hotel where unable to provide fish knives and forks when asked for them. Didn't like the lack of separation between the bedroom and the bath because steam could cause dampness in the bed linen, I know that this is a design fad at the moment but I hope that it soon goes away! Musty smell from washbasin waste. Washbasin cracked.
Location. Most staff helpful and friendly.
Room very small although "Superior". Bath in bedroom took up space which might have been used to provide storage. Dim lighting. Bistro staff unfriendly and unhelpful.
pleasant staff central location excellent food
noise of fans outside room room with view of wall & vent, very dark & gloomy no bath (disabled facilities) but not informed of this nor asked if ok
The easy car valet parking Breakfast bacon burnt Waitress foreign and confused mussels with mushrooms. Just meant a long dealt at supper
Should be free water by the bed to be competitive.
Across from Fitzwilliam Museum 3 excellent eateries in and nearby Near Hop OnOff Tour stop (train, attractions) Chair I could sleep in Monsoon shower Quiet and nice view of trees Details: Minibar, iron, robes, warm towels Helpful with special needs
