The Staff were really friendly & helpful; The Bistro meal was excellent and they fitted us in at short notice; The bar had a lovely atmosphere with little nooks and crannies; The Room was large and spacious. A lovely place to stay and highly recommended!
Decor Parking option Location Bistro
Check out was busy and a bit chaotic
Loved the atmosphere, loved the bar down in the cellar, loved the roll top bath.
very helpful staff
Location, breakfast, comfy bed
Overpriced given general quality standard - felf surprisingly generic. Especially the bedrooms.
Excellent helpful staff, the hotel is in a great location. Our room was very good comfortable clean and quiet. Breakfast was very good individually cooked and excellent quality. We will make a return visit soon.
Would have been good to have more nespresso capsules.
Impeccable service Lovely room and facilities including AC Car pick-up service helpful Great breakfast
The hotel was great and lovely room. The highlight had to be the breakfast and the wonderful decaffeinated coffee! Thank you. We will be back x
Great location for business purpose. Room is nice. Staff is quite helpful.
It is quite expensive. No lift.
Like the cozy downstairs bar. Excellent Eggs Benedict.
I would come back, but not until the hotel has been renovated. I understand it's been open for 7 years - time to freshen up. Particularly the loos for the bar/restaurant. Also, problems with not having enough hot water on a Saturday morning.
Location was perfect and room was lovely. Reception staff and valet parking great.
Breakfast not very good warm and under cooked and bar staff downstairs not so helpful considering we were overnight guests.
The setting and the lounge areas
The food in the restaurant and the size of our room compared to the cost!
clean, environment, good location
showering facility, air conditioner is too loud
The care and attention given to us by all staff was excellent. The room was wonderful and quirky. We only stayed one night but felt as if we'd been away for a week judging by how relaxed we both felt!
I was surprised at how bland the food was at the Bistro - it was quite disappointing. Whilst I would definitely recommend the hotel to everyone I would not visit the Bistro again. However the service in the Bistro was once again excellent and the sommelier was fantastic.
Air conditioning on a tropical evening, amazingly comfortable bed and incredibly courteous and helpful staff!!
Not staying more than 1 night!
seemed a bit dated, décor very average, road noise terrible at front of hotel, windows wouldn't open due to old secondary glazing so no fresh air
Valet parking was handy, rooms were reasonable size and a lovely deep bath helped.
Why do hotels ALWAYS have doors that bang loudly and make so much noise when you try to lock them - no hope of a lie in! Our sausages were possibly still able to be resuscitated at breakfast - badly undercooked and very slow service - 40min wait for a fry up!
the luxurious, spacious and comfortable room; excellent wine cellar; facilities; staff's accommodating and helpful attitude
later check-out would have been helpful
Lovely old building, nicely restored and decorated in a convenient location.
View at the back of the hotel is not the best in Cambridge.
The dinner in the restaurant was very disappointing quality
Staff very friendly. Room clean and comfortable. Great bath!
Staff, bed, bar and bathroom. Coffee machine in room.
Loud baby shower party directly outside room door in courtyard. Should have been told at check in.
Staff - friendly; great location but overpriced;
Walking in the room through the bathroom - bit odd; being offered £50/hour to extend stay by a couple of hours! Tour de France weekend - hotel looking to take advantage of location....? Yes - but not the only one. Not surprising hotel still available for last minute booking. £275/night including breakfast is over the top....
Clean, luxurious hotel, very friendly and respectful staff.
Milk was off even when we received a replacement, staff on check out apologised which was appreciated, but felt a small token gesture would have gone a long way, eg free parking.
Genuinely quiet rooms are available - unusual for a city. Great restaurant at the hotel. Staff lovely. Rooms have the usual fab Hotel du Vin decor
The price! But that's normal for Cambridge
