Hotel du Vin & Bistro Harrogate  

-The Bar – Good selections of drinks and the bartender was both passionate about the things that matter. - The Bed – Very comfortable - Free WiFi – A nice touch.

-The view from the window. -The lack of free water (Most other luxury brands supply this.) -The design of the shower, it looked more prison than hotel.

We did early bird dinner and did not get the free carafe of wine even after asking about it.

The Rooms were very well presented and I credibly clean. The general Ambience was perfect and the staff were helpful albeit non of them were British.

The cooked breakfast was sub standard. We felt like our order hadnt been cooked for us and it had been done the night before.

My booking had been cancelled in error - by them as it turns out when I askedif I should complain to Booking.com. I was made to feel "privileged" because they still had some standard rooms left. Room and bathroom were very small.

The location was great, the room had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.

The meal in the bistro was not the standard we expected. The crab starter was sloppy in texture. The lemon sole did not taste fresh, it also had a strange texture and the sauce on it was mostly butter. The hot grapes were different but okay. We felt it was overpriced,had it been of good or better quality we wouldn't have minded quite so much.

Private dining. Excellent sommelier enhancing our experience at the series 60th party - nothing was too much trouble.

I don't understand why our overnight stay cost £15 extra to our friends (mr & mrs Rudd) when they had exactly he same food and a better room - a puzzle to me - we both booked on line.

location is good close to some excellent eateries and pubs and ideal for shopping. good parking arrangments. reception staff excellent.

The cost compared to other quality accomodation in Harrogate is high. The bar prices are exhorbitant. The bathroom mirror was too high, my wife is 5'3' not perticularly small but still could not get close to it because of depth of sink, no alternative. i

Relaxed atmosphere

Mattress was very hard, stayed in brown brothers room constantly heard the front door banging shut

Lounge area, food, bedroom and large bathroom.

Dirty glasses not being removed from room. Towels unchanged. Reception of maitre d who announced we were on a 'set menu deal' as if we were second class citizens - the a la carte menu was not offered to us on our first night. Paying for parking was not made clear before arrival.

Parking. Limited parking is not policed properly by staff, and thus causes chaos to the guests. We booked parking, ok on the first night, second night we arrived back at the hotel, our pre booked parking was not available. We ended up parking on the the street, by the time we got to the car in the morning it had received a parking ticket by the local authority. Spoiled a lovely couple of days. Service great when quiet, but goes to pieces when a few people are waiting. Forty five minutes for four croissants in the bar. Sat in breakfast on the second day, it took twenty minutes for staff even to take an order, and a further twenty minutes to get served. (must say food was great).

Bathroom needs redecorating in places. Mirror over basin needs longer arm to facilitate shaving.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional. The hotel is attractive, and comfortably furnished. The breakfast was delicious.

the lighting in the bedroom was too subtle, not great for trying to apply makeup!

I did not think the menu was as good as previous visits,that is apart from the "moules"which were superb !.
