Staff are so very friendly
Leaving, could have stayed another few days !
Bed, hotel in general. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Room lacked light.
The bath room was fantastic wet room and a lovely bath which was down stairs. Breakfast value for money you could have a different one each day for a week.
Pleasant helpful staff. Delicious food.
Small room for price. Asked for quiet room and given one facing main road with traffic noise.
The location is convenient, the bed, pillows and bedding were very comfortable. Coffee machine in the room amazed us.
Lovely bath but too high for elderly to claim on and quite wobbly. Nice shower but has no rails or support for elderly as well. They forgotten to leave a tea spoon even there was a good selection of teas and coffee and fresh bottle of milk in the fridge. You can turn desk light on only together with the sealing light, which wasn't convenient for a couple. We found a newspaper on the door hook only when were leaving the room. When I mentioned this at check out I was told that I should ring the reception and ask for a spoon. Should I? All this little bits, but nothing serious. Overall that was a pleasant stay.
Location State and ambiance of hotel staff attitude
one of the bars were temporarily undergoing refurbishment.
I am so overjoyed that this hotel was the one I picked for my partners suprises birthday treat! The biggest thing that we were so pleased about was the fact they catered for me- I sm a coeliac and come up against problems everywhere I go. They made it no problem and there was no fuss! Very relaxed and romantic stay away, thank you!
The room was spacious and the bed comfy, we had a free standing bath which was a nice touch.
The bar was closed and we didn't have any prior knowledge of this therefore the hotel lacked any atmosphere. They had a limited supply of spirits and were serving from a table in the hall! Not what you expect at almost £200 per night. A drink on the house would have been a nice touch. Wine was very expensive.
Room was fabulous amazing bed dreamy shower and roll top bath with huge chaise in bathroom
Pricey but good for a treat
Excellent location , beautiful hotel and very attentive staff
Was pricey but lovely for a treat!
Can't be better. I will come again.
Professionalism of staff. Lovely room and fantastic terrace. Glad I did my own research as booking.com did not make it clear that rooms in the cottage were tiny.
Booking.com did not make it clear rooms In Cottage were not part of main hotel and were tiny. Did my own research and discovered this for myself.
Service and quality consistently good. Great location for town centre.
Have stayed many times before and room was smaller and more 'tired' looking than on previous visits.
Staff were always on hand and were polite.
Rooms both bed and public are stylish
Couldn't open cupboard by bed Much too busy. It was like staying at a railway station.
Beautifully appointed building, helpful and courteous staff, at least on reception. Spacious room clean with air conditioning, an actual teapot and a fridge with actual milk, not uht rubbish. Bathroom was superb with bath and walk in shower.
Despite the name the hotel serves vastly over-priced and decidedly mediocre wine. Food is also overpriced with additional charges for vegetables with a meal.
The huge bed and lovely linen The monsoon shower Coffee machine Proper glasses
The lock on the door is too close to the handle and I bruised my hand on first use as did my husband a little later
the location was within walking distance to all we wanted to do or see
we booked a cottage, not what we expected, it was just another building with rooms that was inconvenient. the hall was narrow, the steps uneven and hard to get to with a large suitcase
Friendly, professional, staff. Quiet Rooms facing the Park Always a good Breakfast
Was given an upgrade! Lovely room overlooking the garden.Bistro food is excellent and good atmosphere. Staff are top notch.Decor lovely.
Restauraunt was a bit slow but can be forgiven as they were very full.
Great selection of wines at the bar.
The lighting in the room was so dim, we couldn't see to get ready (make-up, hair etc). My husband couldn't even see himself clearly in the full-length mirror! We were away without the children going to a party and this was very frustrating. We mentioned it to reception who brought up a very dim lamp which didn't help at all. For £200/night we expected more. The ceiling paint was flaking off and looked shabby. All together v disappointing. Not at all up to Brighton Hotel du vin standards.
Having to pay £50 for incidentals it gave a feeling of not being trusted and resulted in three credit card transactions one for the room plus separate one for the £50 plus one for final bill!!
Helpful staff ... lovely hotel, spacious rooms and gorgeous luxury bathrooms!
Carpet in bedroom was a bit worn and sub quality of the rest of the hotel. Parking was a hit or a miss depending on arrival time.
room and amenities excellent
final bill was incorrect three times.
We had a one night stay visiting the dentist and family. I asked for a room at the rear overlooking the park and I booked a parking space. Both my requests were provided, and we were even upgraded! The front of house staff were excellent (especially Ella) and we were looked after very well. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but we thought it looked very inviting. Overall a very pleasant hotel with bags of character. We would be very happy to return.
The lift is rather a problem in this hotel. I appreciate that is 'listed', but somehow a way of closing the door automatically should be found. On two or three occasions when we required the lift (our room was on the top floor) it was stuck on a different floor because the door hadn't been closed. This must be very trying for the Reception staff who often have to run upstairs to fetch it. Our reserved parking space was taken by somebody else during the evening, but we found another space and we were not charged. Our carpet was very slightly worn/damaged, and we couldn't use the desk lamp and standard lamp without the overhead lights being on. Finally my wife was unable to get Wi Fi Strange! We stayed in Pol Roger.
