Rooms. Some of the food.Ambience.staff
no vegetables included on children's metals. Tarte tatin was poor.
Being with family
Accommodation, rain shower, baths with tv, large room tv. Enthusiastic and hardworking service at dinner for 6. Excellent breakfast. Hot plates at meals. Hot milk for breakfast coffee on request.
Smell of urine around the toilet. Air of lukewarm interest during booking with no confirmation of booking direct from Hotel only booking.com. Lunch/dinner bill had service charge as well as request for gratuity as though they weren't part of the hotel. Coffee/tea pots need insulation or cosy.
The bath in the bedroom was a big reason why we booked here. It was easily big enough for two. The bed was so comfortable too.
We are sure a staff member told us breakfast was till 11 but when we went down at five past ten we were told we were too late, so no breakfast even though we had paid for it.
Attention to detail, along with excellent customer service. Executive room was superb, waterfall shower was a real luxury. Great hotel to treat yourself to a luxury break.
Tiny car park
Our junion suite was lovely
We got there and it wasn't the room we asked for but staff was amazing
Excellent welcoming staff on arrival. Attractive and comfortable room and bathroom. Underfloor heating in bathroom and lots of hot water. Excellent breakfast in attractive room and smiling, attentive staff. Easy walking to town.
Room was a little hot. Very few parking spaces, we were lucky to use the disabled space as there were no street parking spaces anywhere near. Awful miserable staff on leaving. Had to ask a passing person for a receptionist to check me out. No apology for keeping me waiting. Not fond of them sitting behind a desk and I had no wish to sit first thing in the morning, whilst they sorted out payment problem. Spoilt an otherwise lovely stay
We attended for the New Years Eve party where the food, the band and the atmosphere were excellent. The hotel is well located, very comfortable and attractively furnished. Our (junior suite) room faced to the front of the hotel and was spacious, contemporary and well equipped, accompanied by an excellent bathroom with a shower that gets top marks! The staff looked after us well throughout our stay. Breakfast was relaxed, generous and high quality.
What's not to like? Whilst it wasn't a cheap way to see in the New Year, we would do it again.
Comfortable rooms location
good staff, clean good quality. It was freezing temperatures outside however all areas of the hotel were heated
front of hotel parking can be awkward if in a larger car although there is free on road parking
Reception staff were really welcoming and helpful. Free upgrade without having to ask. Restaurant was also good. Cleaning service was good but failed to replace used glass or shower gel. Reception staff were quick to correct though when we asked. Would definitely stay there again!
very comfortable room and good service
The ambiance of Hotel du Vin. A superb boutique style hotel, close to Town Centre. The shower in the room was amazing! The room was well equipped with decor befitting the Hotel. The restaurant at night was very good, both food itself & service.
The Hotel was not cheap - to be expected with such a quality hotel - but I did think the breakfast prices were a little steep - hence we went elsewhere for breakfast. The hotel is quite a maze, which adds to its quaintness, but I think the stairs would be tricky for some people. Not for us though, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
The room was gorgeous the best nights sleep I have had in a long time.
The breakfast staff were pretty miserable and not very helpful. We waited 45minutes for our cooked breakfast!! So that was a bit of a let down.
The room was just not right for the money I paid . 2 blown bulbs light switches with parts missing Noise from air conditioning unit if you had window open Most staff great but Du Vin seem unable to get rid of those views of 'I'm better than you' from some staff members it's so obvious and nauseating.
decor, snazzy interior, cheerful restaurant, great, well thought out rooms, good food
nothing not to like except perhaps price but even that reasonable enough
The ambience in the bar & restaurant.
The food is overated & overpriced, breakfast was however excellent.
Everything spot one
Nothing to dislike
location good atmosphere, relaxing environment.
car park is a challenge very little space.
Bedroom lighting too too low throughout
The staff, the room, the dinner, the breakfast, the spa, etc, etc.
Nothing springs to mind!
Ambiance and design were very good, and the room was excellent
Great bathroom with beautiful deep bath and plenty of fast running hot water!
A really nice hotel with very pleasant front of house staff, however it took ages to get served a drink and when we were finally taken care of the bar staff were just rude. It was simply too much trouble for them. Such a shame in an otherwise very pleasant hotel!
Comfortable bed with adequate room in standard double room. Wifi in room fast and efficient.
Bathroom not as clean as would have liked.
We paid for an executive room and had a comfortable room with a good sized bathroom. Dining room was interesting.
toiletries were not as good as before and were not replaced after use. the corridors and the lift had an unpleasant stale smell. the menu was a bit limited and very poor service. without the excellent Briony and her Rumanian fellow waiter, the dining experience would have been a disaster on our 41st wedding anniversary.
