The ambiance of Hotel du Vin. A superb boutique style hotel, close to Town Centre. The shower in the room was amazing! The room was well equipped with decor befitting the Hotel. The restaurant at night was very good, both food itself & service.
The Hotel was not cheap - to be expected with such a quality hotel - but I did think the breakfast prices were a little steep - hence we went elsewhere for breakfast. The hotel is quite a maze, which adds to its quaintness, but I think the stairs would be tricky for some people. Not for us though, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
The room was gorgeous the best nights sleep I have had in a long time.
The breakfast staff were pretty miserable and not very helpful. We waited 45minutes for our cooked breakfast!! So that was a bit of a let down.
The room was just not right for the money I paid . 2 blown bulbs light switches with parts missing Noise from air conditioning unit if you had window open Most staff great but Du Vin seem unable to get rid of those views of 'I'm better than you' from some staff members it's so obvious and nauseating.
decor, snazzy interior, cheerful restaurant, great, well thought out rooms, good food
nothing not to like except perhaps price but even that reasonable enough
The ambience in the bar & restaurant.
The food is overated & overpriced, breakfast was however excellent.
Everything spot one
Nothing to dislike
location good atmosphere, relaxing environment.
car park is a challenge very little space.
Bedroom lighting too too low throughout
The staff, the room, the dinner, the breakfast, the spa, etc, etc.
Nothing springs to mind!
Ambiance and design were very good, and the room was excellent
Great bathroom with beautiful deep bath and plenty of fast running hot water!
A really nice hotel with very pleasant front of house staff, however it took ages to get served a drink and when we were finally taken care of the bar staff were just rude. It was simply too much trouble for them. Such a shame in an otherwise very pleasant hotel!
Comfortable bed with adequate room in standard double room. Wifi in room fast and efficient.
Bathroom not as clean as would have liked.
We paid for an executive room and had a comfortable room with a good sized bathroom. Dining room was interesting.
toiletries were not as good as before and were not replaced after use. the corridors and the lift had an unpleasant stale smell. the menu was a bit limited and very poor service. without the excellent Briony and her Rumanian fellow waiter, the dining experience would have been a disaster on our 41st wedding anniversary.
Too many immature staff in all disciplines
Poor value at £240 for a night. Lights not working, bathroom like an oven with no obvious way to kill the underfloor heating and you had to move furniture to turn lights on....and this room was apparently a free upgrade.
No mirror near a plug for hair appliances Room pol roger
Friendly staff, nicely appointed room - great breakfast
Evening meal - a little disappointing
The dining room had a great atmosphere and great food.
difficult parking and few spaces
The lo cation could not have been better. The hotel is very stylish and comfortable. The bedrooms are quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast.
Parking was difficult. My duvet was too hot. I would have preferred a top sheet.
Expected excellence and by and large not disappointed. Meal good, wine fairly priced ie not over the top like some expensive restaurants. Good location for walking Cheltenham high street.
Given wrong post code on booking form so spent 15 minutes driving around. Reception are aware that the post code is wrong but no warning. Limited parking so late Saturday afternoon you also have cars parked on site by people booked into the restaurant and not staying. Double bath and double shower looked very nice but would have preferred a lounge area with a sofa to sit comfortably as there was nothing useful in the bedroom.
Breakfast options weren't good, and as I was travelling for business it was disappointing that they would not serve breakfast before 8am.
Everything about the hotel was extremely professional
Slight difficulty in checking out with only 1 member of staff available which meant 4 couples had to wait We were not in a hurry, but if you were, it could have been a problem Otherwise, super
Hotel position great, the ambience of the bar was particularly good, very fine room for cocktails, dinner superb too, rooms very good and well equipped.
nothing of note
Bistro was good but expensive, staff were helpful, breakfast was very good. Pillows was lovely just about right.
Our room was very dark even with lights up full it felt dingy and dull likewise the corridor's were also very dull with poor lighting. Drinks very expensive and bed a tad hard ! I would but recommend but only after after explaining a bit about the hotel !
