What is the definition of a 'Service Charge' and how can it be described as discretionary if it is added to the bill and included in the total. Very, very bad and not worthy of what the hotel purports to be. Think again!!
The bed was very comfortable, and was great to have a dressing gown to slip into after a long relaxing bath.
Did not like that parking is not nearby. The room was clean but the floor tiles in the bathroom need grouting in certain areas. Also thought the wines were over priced.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Food excellent and hotel in a lovely position. Would recommend a stay here.
found drinks expensive.
Fabulous receptionist sorted out late arrival and arranged for late meal at the Bistro. Staff were fantastic. Polite and attentive, helpful but not pushy.
Staff very good and friendly
Room was tired, not cleaned properly, needed complete refurb. U/floor heating and air con not easy to use. External covered area dirty, cigarette ends, ash all over floor Additional cost for carparking not mentioned when booking
Size of room (did book larger room) Comfort of bed Good coffee machine!
Bathroom layout as it is in the room and not separated
Location near to Thames is excellent. The staff were always ready to help and explain. Quality of food was excellent. Wonderfully comfortable bed.
Plumbing needs a little improvement. But can only speak for one room. Wine list was a trifle expensive.
INTERESTING QUAINT HOTEL IN A GOOD LOCATION GOOD BATHROOM GOOD BREAKFAST
BEDROOM WAS SMALL FOR A "LARGE" ROOM LACK OF CHAIRS ONLY ONE DESK CHAIR PROVIDED !!! TWO SMALL TABLES BOTH FILLED WITH ROOM ITEMS--COFFEE MACHINE, SNACKS, TELLLY ETC ETC ELECTRIC KETTLE NOT WIRED IN ?? BAR RAN OUT OF BEER BOTH DRAFT & BOTTLED !!! NOT A "4" STAR HOTEL
Ideally situated 10 minute stroll to the Thames river footpath Nicely renovated Brewery. Had a room at the top of the old building. Told this had a river view
Couldn't see the river from the room. Was told that you could see "the tops of some of the cruising boats" as they went by!!! Front desk staff do need to experience for themselves what view each room offers before making misleading statements
Hotel Du Vin like its sister hotels Malmaison are consistent in their delivery of luxury boutique hotel with a standard and style you expect from hotel to hotel. Henley was centrally located and the staff were friendly - our stay was a little marred by a problem with the lack of hot water in our room but the staff did their best to resolve the problem quickly and eventually moved us to another room.
The staff are fabulous. The location ideal. Car parking is convenient and the restaurant fitted the bill
The bed was uncomfortable and the room too dark. A common problem with boutique hotels. The desk was too small and cluttered to work. No direct daylight. Make up and shaving is a challenge in mood lighting. But for one night it was ok.
Staff was so accommodating!! never had service like this even at the Ritz Carlton. Food was excellent as well as the Patio and bar.
We were in a handicap room and I am a bit of a clean freak so giving them a break here. Could have been a bit cleaner.
Service at the reception was friendly and professional.
Service at the restaurant was very pushy and at times a little rude.
Staff have bad attitude and they're treating clients in bad strange way made me feel uncomfortable. Won't advise anybody
Pretty location. Good brrakfast.
Had to park 15 min walk away and go down at 9am to put more money in. Not good as my husband has a hip problem.
Night porter very friendly and helpful.
Although very clean throughout, the heating system was very noisy and ran all night, and continually blasted cool air out. Not a very good night sleep considering the high cost. The shower too although very powerful was very noisy.
Everything was as you would expect and hope. The staff were extremely nice and the Deputy General Manager Helen was especially helpful.
Architecture of the building, previously Brakspears Brewery. Very comfortable room, we chose a large double room which was pretty big with a huge sized bed and en-suite was large and classy. Breakfast excellent and cooked to order. We did not eat dinner in the hotel, but found a superb Italian restaurant just round the corner. Will definitely stay here again.
No parking on site
No outside signage so nearly impossible to find Bed poor Hotel a little tired Car park seems to be for own staff and laundry and mainly empty. So you have to find a spot on the road then get up early to put money in the meter No air conditioning in room. Heat or nothing.
lovely decor bar staff excellent
car parking felt is should been more readily available
About restaurant, the food was only just acceptable and the service was excessively slow
A fantastic Hotel set on the site of the old Henley Brewery. Great atmosphere created by the fact the old brewery building has many of its original features still visible.....The beer is pretty good as well!!!!
Limited parking was the only drawback...
Tried to get a drink when we arrived and was told we'd have to wait 10 minutes for bar man and then being told at 11.30pm that there were no cocktails after 11pm (I asked for a Bellini)...it seems the Hotel Du Vin is shy in serving actual vin! Almost non existent staff offer sullen, slack service.
Loved our tri-level suite on the 2nd floor with fantastic bathroom (matching roll top baths, side by side) The huge arched shaped window with a wonderful view of the church & countryside beyond, bedroom view of the River Thames. Vaulted ceiling, Very friendly staff, fantastic receptionist...wish I knew her name but she wasn't wearing a name badge. I could go on........
of theNothing to dislike.
The courtyard area to sit in Nice lunch and drink selection Polite professional staff
Staff cars parked in the courtyard entrance
