The hotel was lovely and finished to a high standard. The room was cosy, warm and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very polite and friendly too. We knew the area but I thought it was excellent that there was so much info about where to go and how to get there. I did think twice when booking because I did want a b&b originally but I loved the discount offered by local cafes! We went to The Chambers and it was brilliant!
The only thing that I disliked was the extra door off our bathroom, leading into the corridor. It was locked but it did make me feel uneasy when showering etc.
Free Wifi, Chinese across the road, inclusive on-road parking
Rooms were really small, Room door was left open by housekeeping one day, I had a door in my bathroom that opened into the corridor
We had a small double and it was perfect, still enough room around the bed to change. Very clean and lovely bathroom. Parking permit was another plus point. No complaints.
Nice friendly staff do almost anything for you
We were met by friendly staff and had a comfortable night in decent bed with comfy pillows! We chose a small double room and it was indeed compact but perfect for the one night we stayed. Nice that the hotel has a pub too! Can walk into city easily or take one of the many cabs around.
Very clean rooms
I stayed here on business, and as I got a very cheap rate so wasn't expecting much. Was pleasantly surprised to find a spacious, well decorated and very clean room - with great heating on a very cold night! The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly - all in all a great experience.
The little cottage - parking permit -
Good value for money and very clean. Parking permit was no issue. The recommended breakfast spot was close by and honoured the discount for Duke of Buckingham. Good stay - Thank you
The place was Immaculate. I was initially worried about parking as I arrived ate evening, but there were spaces on the street and the parking was free. Even though I checked out at 9, I was able to remain parked with the pass for a few hours afterwards. The walk to the shops isn't too far away, but there is a walk. Directions are very clear and available at reception on convenient printouts and easy to follow. I came here to visit my son at marines band school, so was nice and close for that.
location was fab , only a short walk to Gunwharf shops, bars and restaurants . Room was spacious , modern and clean . Staff were extremely friendly and helpful . Free parking permit too ! Fantastic value at £65
Only slight negative for me was that the sound travelled quite a bit so I could hear people banging their doors and talking in the next room .
Great value and lovely place to stay. Would stay again and recommend to friends, family and anyone who needs a hotel in Portsmouth.
I loved the breakfast. The quality of the food was complemented by wonderful friendly service. What a great way to start the day!
comfort, the cottage, friendly staff
Location, parking, price and free Wifi.
Rooms are small but this is reflected in the price.
The lady on reception when i arrived was lovely and the place was very clean and smelt nice. rooms were very tidy and clean perfect for a overnight stay. Nice gesture with the hot drinking facilities and showergels. The parking permit was good aswell so i didn't have to pay. Good location as i need to get to the ferry terminal to get to the isle of wight. thank you for a pleasant stay
I stayed in room 12 and the shower wasn't very hot. After working out in the cold all day it would have been ncie to have a hot shower. Maybe this is being a bit padantic but i thought my pillows were too hard. its like they were brand new and needed to be worn in a little bit. The mirror was ridicously low in the bathroom!!
Had a baby and was near the top floor
A very nice place to stay.
Location, Room, Parking
Ability to contact hotel reception staff out of hours, it was though late News year Eve!
The staffs are very friendly and attentive. Beautifully decorated and love the dressing table.
Room is a bit small for double room but it's ok. Overall I had a very nice experience.
Room was great
Beds comfy, staff helpful and polite, close to ammunities, clean, hot water, freeview tv
Reasonably priced stay. Shame didn't offer breakfast. Tried order evening meal saturday night at 945pm and was told no longer serving. Really fancied advertised steak 2 for £10.50!
There wasn't hot water for the shower. Room under the roof by windy day is really noisy. We felt that the roof was about to take off.
