good location room clean
Wasn't sure wot to do with parking permit so needs to be told to guest and very noisy at night
Staff were great. Nice pub attached.
Walls were thin. Could hear people in the next room.
Lack of soundproofing in the rooms upstairs in the cottage Small awkward bath with hand held shower
I have previously stayed here and enjoyed it the first time; hence why I stayed again. Brilliant location 5 minutes walk to the sea front, Gunwhalf and town centre. Will definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Quietness of accommodation. Desk manager very nice appeared happy in his job a ready smile goes a long way.
We decided upon this hotel because of the great price and we really enjoyed our stay, rooms were lovely and cosy and cleaned well everyday, would stay again without a doubt
not enough space, the bedroom was dark and rudimentary. we could not have stayed more than one night.
The staff were absolutely fantastic. The room was nice and clean. Really enjoyed the stay.
Bathroom was very small.
Great location with really friendly staff
Sadly my experience was impacted but other guests. The walls are very thin and it was not a great night sleep. The default sound on the TV is loud and some guests didn't turn down so would suggest this is looked at. Also pillows are very thin.
Excellent meals at ajacent similarly named pub up to 9pm. Convenient location to dockyard exhibition where we were displaying our company. Would use them again.
Room was a bit chilly overnight
location and friendly staff
price too expensive for what you got
This is not a hotel and would barely qualify as a hostel. It feels unfinished, remote and as if all humans had left in a hurry. A year ago things were much different. Warm and friendly and a crowded bar with guests having breakfast at 10am.This year it seemed abandoned and devoid of human influence. No bar facilities at 10pm....apparently bar closes at 5pm. No breakfast!!.No staff at reception.Made own way to room at 10pm. Reception deserted. Same in morning. Waited a while. Staff member arrived and told me to have breakfast at a cafe some 10 mins walk away...I did not feel like a guest but merely someone in the way. OUTRAGEOUS!
Arrived late in the evening but staff happy to wait for us to check in.
Sounds from bathrooms on floors
We were there for the Great South Run and the Duke of Buckingham is in the perfect location as the run actually goes past the pub. It is also close to the shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and very helpful and the pub food is also very good. We have booked to come back again next year.
location staff cleanliness
small room window opened to flat roof with a door used by staff, so we didn't feel comfortable leaving it open, even though it was hot
Rooms were spot less and staff very friendly, room I had was a single and was great for me as I was doing great south run.A parking permit was giving for my car to park any where in local area around B&B which was great
Breakfast!!!!!!!!!!! or lack of it ,I know when i booked it said as much, but it really was the only thing i missed.they give you the details of a place round the corner ,but this is a posh wine bar that does breakfast as a side line at win bar prices
the location was ideal as we were catching the morning ferry , the rooms were clean and comfortable ,very little noise from the road even with the window open
shared toilet ,
We were participating in the Great South Run and the location was perfect for this.
Wasn't anything to dislike.
great location, friendly staff and room was adequate.
Would have been nice if breakfast was available downstairs, rather than a walk aways
Nothing was too much effort for the staff, they were very helpful friendly and welcoming Thanks
One of our rooms didn't have a bathroom. That in itself wasn't an issue but it didn't even have a sink, which there was space for. The shared bathroom down the corridor was very small and basic. The room was non-smoking but clearly someone had ignored that and it stank. One of the beds had sheets that had been cleaned but were still stained (not very appealing). Therefore I slept on the hard bed by the window - which was open because of the smell. My neck was very stiff after such an uncomfortable night. My suggestion would be to put sinks in the rooms that don't have bathrooms. Maybe also look to change that uncomfortable bed.
Bed so comfy. Room clean. Staff fab.
Creaky floor upstairs. Shared bathroom. No wifi in rooms. No breakfast
Location and price.
Paper coming off walls in room. Very small bathroom and no B&B option.
