Score from 221 reviews Very good
Plenty of Tea and Coffee, better than expected T V selection and unexpectedly quiet considering the rooms are over a Public House.
The Breakfast Room was a bit cold.
The king room had been fairly newly refurbished. It was colour coordinated, the bed was really comfortable. There was a large on suite shower room with new fittings. The Bistro was excellent for the evening meal, food quality superb. There was entertainment in the Bar which we joined in with during the evening. The staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the company and conversation of the many local people who were keen to chat with us
This is a working Pub on a busy road. Accept that and then you can enjoy yourself.
I ate at the Pub and the food was excellent, staff were attentive.
My room was at the front of the pub by the road and the traffic lights.
smashing big bathroom friendly staff good food
some noise from traffic
Not much unless you dont like walking as the walk into town is uphill
Live music on friday night that was heared as it was in the room. Few hours of sleeples night.
LOVELY WARM WELCOME FROM STAFF AND THE LOCALS. NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE FOR THE STAFF A*
WAS NOT KEEN ON THE SHOWER IN ROOM. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS LACK OF SPACE, BUT MAYBE FROSTED GLASS
Off road parking, warm and toasty and good room
Price and narrow access to stairs but its an older unique building
Great location, huge rooms newly renovated
Satelite TV hard to work, staff not really interested in helping to fix this. VERY noisy from pub below to be expected but was excessive, bad sleep!
Nice clean room, well equipped. Good food both at breakfast and evening meal.
The noisy rock band in the bar on Saturday evening. Also the hotel was on a busy crossroad. Lots of traffic.
Cheep accommodation. ideal for short a stay and Eden project only 3 mile away. Breakfast surprisingly good and included
Staff very friendly and helpful
Great value for money. Excellent staff nothing to much trouble. Food fantastic value. The pub have great ambiance, ideal location for touring round. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
The Duke of Cornwall was overall excellent value for money. Helpful staff. Pleasant bar. Very nice breakfasts
We had to share a bathroom. We had two single beds - would have preferred a double.
Staff friendly. Breakfast substantial but you had to shift for yourself a bit, finding things.
Noisy road traffic. Had to use earplugs to sleep. Room arrangement with twin beds made it awkward to move around.
Good size room, recent decorated bathroom ! Quite a lot of road noise early in the morning ! Food in the Bistro is really good ! Good breakfast Staff friendly !
Road noise ! This was bad from around 7.00.. This may just be the King room ! A couple we meet and spoke to said their room was fine and quite ! Partner would liked to have had a bath !
The room was brilliant and the breakfast was amazing. Staff were very friendly and definitely a plus.
Room on top of the pub - can be a bit noisy till around 11pm - and the place closes at 11pm - so time limiting.
Excellent size room Good decor excellent breakfast helpful staff
Noisy at weekends until closing time (11pm) although was expected
Staff advised us of a nice walk to the sea
Duvet was a bit too warm for a summers night
The room was spacious and very clean, staff very helpfull and polite, location only a short drive from where we wanted to go (lost gardens of Heligan), close to town, great place to stay!
It was Friday night and our room was right over the top of the bar, there were celebration downstairs, but we were staying in a beautiful old pub gotta expect noise!
Very pleased with our stay clean basic good breakfast helpful staff simply a great base camp highly recommended :)
Everyone was very nice
Didn't know there was free Wi-Fi no one said
Very large bedroom Comfy bed with nice white linen Coffee/tea facilities in room Good hearty breakfast
Pathetic shower - new huge shower cubicle and then disappointing dribble of water. Stained bath towel Toilet roll holder had come off wall Curtain tie back missing on 1 side of curtain at one window in bedroom. Very thin serviette at breakfast. No side plate provided. Maybe they should make full English breakfast a little smaller and provide yogurts and better cereals / fresh fruit. Neither of us could manage the full breakfast and asked for just eggs & bacon and toast the 2nd & 3rd mornings. No butter provided - had to ask. Toast arrived on side of eggs & bacon plate.
Very friendly and helpful staff
