Food in bar was terrible Bed extremely creaky
The room - Spacious Breakfast - Well cooked & grnerous Staff - Helpful & Profesional Bar/Lounge Menu/Food - Good choice well cooked & generous helpings The one night we did use the dinning room the service and the cooking were great
Main dinning room menu - Not a lot of choice & same menu all week.
large room and bathroom good breakfast fair price
some of the décor could do with an update
Very good position for Plymouth Pavilions and the Hoe.
Slightly jaded, needs some care and attention to soft furnishings ie. fabric of dining room chairs was filthy. Could be an very good hotel if some money was spent on it.
Location, appearance , food
room was excellent
prices at the bar a bit expensive
Hotel had lots of character and the room had lovely decor it was located right opposite the venue we were going to and was good value for money defiantly stay again !
The food staff and room
Breakfast excellent, staff very friendly and accommodating, when I made two special requests.
Bathroom was dusty.
The hotel was warm and welcoming, the staff were very helpful. I really did like the cleanliness of the place .
I am sorry to say the beds were the worst I have ever tried to sleep on. Not only could we feel the springs coming through the mattress but every time we turned over they also made a noise. Unfortunately I visit three times a year but have been put off staying with you again purely because of the beds!
Close to centre and maritime district Helpful Staff Charm of a bygone age Excellent breakfast Great location
Great hotel brilliant location, huge room and breakfast brought to our room couldn't fault it would definitely stay here again.
Location Facilities Food Staff were friendly Comfort
the location was good, not the closest to the main shopping centre. room was excellent size and just what we asked for. staff were helpful and pleasant.
we had hoped to eat at the restaurant in the hotel, as it was award winning ,but disappointed to be told it was closed due to a christmas party, could have been told this when booked or by email, just managed to get a table somewhere else(which was fantastic).
we have stayed at this hotel 4 times now over several years the first 2 times were very nice the 3rd time 2 years ago we could have written a list of complaints the length of our arm , so were a bit dubious this time . but what a surprise all round everything was as we would expect it to be
there is nothing negative I can say this time , the hotel has been completely refurbished which it needed , and we are so pleased because we like older hotels
The bottles from the bar being emptied at 7.30 in the morning, right out side our window and waking us up, was inconsiderate.
Quiet room at the back of the hotel Friendly staff
Everything, friendly helpful staff made the stay all the more welcoming.we'll be definitely be staying again!
As we stayed in the reynolds suite my only problem with the room was there was only a bath other than that a fab stay!
Would have liked some drawers in the room suitable for underwear, woollens etc.
Pillows very lumpy, shirt pants and socks from previous occupant still in bedside draw.
Good location; great rooms; good breakfast; good service; easy parking.
Having to buz the buzzer to get in from the carpark.
comfortable room Pleasant staff A friendly atmosphere throughout Beautiful building
Breakfast being an extra charge
Booked a one night stay to attend Granddaughter's graduation and on booking in discovered that the booking had not been registered. On producing my paperwork issue was sorted quickly & efficiently. Having booked B & B but not feeling up to a walk round Plymouth booked a meal at the Hotel and although the food was slow in coming it was delicious, well cooked and the professional service from the Waitress was excellent. Will use again and would not hesitate to recommend.
Room - particularly the view of the fire escape from 511 and our sons room 309. These should be sold in such a way as it is know as time of booking. Don't like bed so close to door of room. Bathroom floor disgusting. Expensive for this room £50 room and £95. Shame on you.
Original victorian gas lamps converted into bedside lights, impressive staircase, some larts of hotel need updating
Fixed overhead Shower head, no overhead light in room, decor slightly dated
