Booked a one night stay to attend Granddaughter's graduation and on booking in discovered that the booking had not been registered. On producing my paperwork issue was sorted quickly & efficiently. Having booked B & B but not feeling up to a walk round Plymouth booked a meal at the Hotel and although the food was slow in coming it was delicious, well cooked and the professional service from the Waitress was excellent. Will use again and would not hesitate to recommend.
Room - particularly the view of the fire escape from 511 and our sons room 309. These should be sold in such a way as it is know as time of booking. Don't like bed so close to door of room. Bathroom floor disgusting. Expensive for this room £50 room and £95. Shame on you.
Original victorian gas lamps converted into bedside lights, impressive staircase, some larts of hotel need updating
Fixed overhead Shower head, no overhead light in room, decor slightly dated
Pillows were very poor
Location wise, you could not get closer - literally across the road from the pavilions. Good standard accommodation.
Bar closed by 10 p.m, so had to go elsewhere for a nightcap.
Welcoming, friendly & helpful staff. Excellent room & even though a 'standard' was large with plenty of storage. Good bathroom with separate shower, all nicely decorated, comfortable & clean.
Nothing we can think of!
We stayed for a Saturday night. Grand old hotel which oozes history. Good location although beware of the parking if there happens to be anything on at Plymouth pavilions, as the roads get jammed and the hotel car park is small. This led to us crawling around and around looking for a parking space! Both the evening meal and breakfast we are in the room we're very good and excellent value for money. Would stay again even if the decor is a little dated.
Good value and quality of room service.
Very good value good location and very oldie worldie.
When asked for a drink in the bar was directed out the hotel (in the rain) to the Tiger Milk by a member of staff the older guy who I noticed often stood by the lift just around the corner only to find the hotel actually had its own bar !!!!!!!!
The food was excellent. The room was beautiful.
Parking was limited. The bed was two single beds pushed together.
Poor lighting (none) outside of our room which made difficult whether morning or evening
Comfy room Good Lift TV Parking
couldn't wangle the Wi-Fi with our IPAD Shower controls primitive Bathroom needs updating Single glazing allowed road noise to uncomf. level. Deep puddles on walkway between car park &rooms
Everything - but especially the dining room and menu.
space, cleanliness, freedom
Great old Fashioned Hotel not too far from the city centre.
The room brochure said there is a charge for internet. In this day and age All hotels should have free internet/WiFi.
Size of room Friendly and helpful staff Short distance from city centre and Hoe.
Car parking size
Breakfast - not up to standards of regular business traveller and out of context looking at the premises' expectation level (where is the fresh orange juice ....)
convenient for the city ,clean and relaxed
Comfortable classic room. Gooe ensuite and great comfortable bed. All you need. Excellent breakfast.
The history of the building and its design which makes it individual. Clean , comfortanle and relaxing.
Noise from TV above in evening and workmen in carpark in morning. Bar was closed on wednesday evening but did organise a drink for us.
Drinks far to dear. Would not recommend eating in the bar.had a curry which was a plate full of rice with a couple of bits chicken covered with sauce sent it back twice then I refused to eat it. Better of in weatherspoons across the road.£12 for breakfast.rip off. Wifi poor.
Good location with free car park
Noisy main road to front of hotel.
Character of hotel & friendly staff. Location was perfect
The hotel was very well decorated. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
The room was very dated, and equipment quite old. kettle took ages to boil.
