The location and the bar and waiting staff, very helpful.
The room was gorgeous it was very stylish to, the room was spotless and had everything in it for a great stay.
The staff were help full and very friendly. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices and plenty to fill the plates.
Window was not able to shut shower was freezing until hot water eventually came through
Situation to Venues
Room was very cold, No Double Glazing, Curtains and Decor very Tierd.. Food Very Mediocre for price, Staff very inpersonal.
Room & breakfast were excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location.
Shower was only over bath mixer taps & towels were small.
Nice interior, pleasant dining room, great location for pavilions.
Allocated room 309 very small, severely limited light. Window opened into internal staircase so no fresh air. Felt very claustrophobic.
We have stayed many times in this hotel food good staff cannot fault them anice place to stay
After staying many times at this hotel we where a little put out this time as we had a room next to the lift very small and noisy but next visit we will make sure before we arrive for a different room would not put us off staying at duke of Cornwall again
Convenient for City centre and attractions.
Not a lot.
Car park bays poorly marked leading to disorganised parking and lack of spaces. Small blood smear on the toilet seat on checking in "Sanitised for your use"! Creaking floorboards in our room and room above - very loud and disruptive. Radiator that intermittently clicked throughout the night - loudly, such that I had to get up 5 times in the night to adjust the thermostat to stop it. A grand old beast, but past its "Use by" now. If land was worth anything in Plymouth it would be demolished.
Awesome staff, couldn't be more helpful.
Firstly and most importantly staff were excellent from start through to the finish, nothing was too much trouble and they were attentive and friendly without being over the top.
Food in bar wasn't very good, and only wifi in public areas. Wired internet was available in the rooms, but not suitable for ipads etc only laptops.
Great room,excellent location.
Free wifi was not that great
Nice atmosphere. Great breakfast with efficient service. Helpful at Reception.
Interesting grand old building which has recently been refurbished to the public areas.
The bedroom was dated, small and uninviting.
Dirty bathroom, Trouser press not working, Hardly any heat in the room, Curtains did not meet together. Breakfast not that hot and juices were warm and should of been chilled. Service poor.
Comfortable and large room with extremely large and equally comfortable bed. Private car park.Excellent location for restaurants, bars and the Hoe.
Hotel looks grand from the outside and doesn't disappoint when you enter! The rooms are slightly tired but comfortable. Fantastic location for concerts etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Handy for music, food and drinks!
Only slight downside was the bed 'caved in the middle'! Kept rolling into each other !
the room was really nice, great bathroom, location good.
dirty cloth at breakfast, had to ask for teaspoons, very poor buffet table, had to wait ages, and then ask for our breakfast. Coffee stewed.
Location was fan , nice and warm , staff friendly
Couldn't park in car park so was told to park on the road somewhere , not much help when you don't know where you are going ! Paid for council car park in the end.
Room was huge and comfortable - not grand and slightly faded but perfect for our needsl
Stayed in the same hotel that Ernest Shackleton stayed at before his voyage
Good value deal.Perfect location for Plymouth Pavillions
Without exception, all the staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and my teenage daughter and I loved the whole "feel" of this historic hotel. Perfect location for a visit to the Pavilions too, which are literally across the road.
My daughter was a little taken aback by the price of the drinks in the hotel bar (mainly because she was paying for them I suspect) but that won't stop us from returning...
