The friendliness and willingness of the staff to help came over very clearly. The room was very clean and spacious and breakfast was excellent. The bathroom/shower was a little on the small side. |

Staff were friendly and efficient. Hotel had old fashioned charm especially the dining room which was rather grand. I particularly liked the cooked breakfasts which were cooked to one's individual needs rather than served up, buffet style, in heated dishes. I had a thoroughly pleasant stay. |

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff On the Saturday afternoon there was a gathering of junior footballers. They ran amock resulting in our having to approach the staff to resolve the problem. Secondly visitors/guests should be discouraged from drinking/smoking on the steps to the main entrance. This does not create a good initial view of the hotel. |

Restaurant was pleasant and breakfast was freshly cooked and hot with a good choice. Nice view from out room on the fifth floor. Room was clean. Flat screen TV in room. Staff helpful. Hotel is very tired, carpets and furniture are worn and poorly fitted. Room was basic and bathroom had cheap fittings and was more like a student bedsit. Bed was old and uncomfortable windows were old and draughty No double glazing. Shower pump noisy. Didn't eat in the restaurant as was empty and that put us off. Internet access, but charged by the hour. |

The room was nicely decorated and of a good size. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful The mattress was a little soft. The lounge bar needed updating. |

The convenient location for walks around the city and coast. Position near the Plymouth Pavillions. Views from room 415 the bed in the room was a regular double when I expected larger at the rate paid |

We stayed in the Hotel due to a business trip . We required a good nights sleep which we got which is unusual for a city centre hotel. Slightly dated compaired to modern hotels but due to it's age it has bags of charachter. The staff were very warm and friendly especially the young blonde Polish receptionist and the restaurant staff in the morning. |

The standard of cleanliness and decor of both our room and the public areas were most impressive. My wife left her mobile phone charger in our room. Unfortunately this had not been returned to reception by the cleaning staff when we made enquiries about it. |

The hotel is spacious and a graceful old building which has a good feel -it was built as a hotel not as a block of flats and has the right atmosphere.I loved the fact that breakfast was not self service. Mt room although very spacious was drab - one might almost say shabby. |

Staff were pleasant Booking included a buffet breakfast. Based on considerable experience in other hotels I expected all food to be available at the buffet including hot items. I did not expect a buffet continental breakfast with a cooked to order english breakfast. This should be clearer. |

very friendly staff and good location for our needs.Warm room(a little too warm in the bathroom!!) Could have been cleaner and hotel a bit jaded and could do with a makeover.Breakfast was excellent. Thought the price a little over the top for the tiny room we had-not even satellite tv |
