The food at the wedding was fantastic, the whole wedding package met my daughters standards. Was given room 211 next to a lift very noisy, the room it self was very small & very smelly. It smelt of sewerage. The stay was or my daughters wedding, so when I went down to complain I was told there were no more available rooms. I couldn't make a song & a dance because I did not want to upset my daughter! I was also accused of stealing flowers from the hotel, which in fact the manager had given me as they were in the colours of my daughters wedding. No communication between the staff, the receptionist did apologise but she should never of jumped to that conclusion without checking with other members of staff!

Our room was quiet, it was large - we had two adults and two grown boys with us, the location was perfect for attending an event at the Pavilion across the street. The bathroom was large. There was some street noise which is to be expected, but even tho we were there on a Friday and Saturday night, the noise level was not a problem at all. The lounge on ground floor is very nice. The breakfast was fabulous as well as the breakfast staff - very cheerful and very accommodating. The parking, we had a rental car we needed to store off the street, and on the second night we had to wait for a spot to free up.

The Hotel is very stylish and part of my treat when working in Plymouth The room was cold and radiator didn;t come on, I really wondered if the bed had been changed it looked unkempt! No hot water in the morning, 930am, I ran the tap but it was proving very wasteful to continue. I will book again, but having run my own hotel relate practicely and know this won't reaccur next visit.

Stayed here 4 yrs ago and liked it then. Lovely Victorian. Holding and nice decor throughout. Easy access to Plymouth Hoe. The pillows were awful, however on departure were told by reception staff that featherplows are available on request, it would have been useful to have known this beforehand!

Breakfast was good. Nice position opposite the Pavilions. I liked the twelve o'clock check out. Room was clean. Shower went from freezing to burning - really erratic. Hot water in sink took ages to come through. Pillow uncomfortable.

A lovely building just a short stroll away from the historic Barbican and the cobweb blowing away Hoe. The room was large and nicely decorated with a fabulous view. The staff were friendly and really efficient, and to top it all one of the nicest hotel breakfasts we've had in ages.

Its ideal for the theatres in Plymouth and for shopping. Had a good nights sleep as our room was very quiet. When there is a show on at the Pavillion which is just across the road you do not open your restaurant until 7pm when most shows start at 7.30pm. This means you have to go out and find something to eat when you could of eaten at the hotel if you opened the resaurant at 6.30pm. You are losing alot of trade.

We booked a superior room which was very spacious and comfortable. The English breakfast was substantial and tasty. One of the waiters was on the weak side but the more mature members of staff were exceptionally good. When booking we were told that shower gel/shampoo and soap were provided free of charge but, in reality, there was only enough for a single traveller and the hotel should be more generous in this respect.

Our original room was not up to standard. Room 308 - the carpet was dirty and the room and decor was dated and and grubby. After we advised the staff that we were not happy with the room we were upgraded to a much nicer room 517 (the tower) where the standards were much higher and we had a very enjoyable stay thereon - the food was gorgeous and the staff were all very friendly and attended us well. The first room was not up to standard and was vastly overpriced! I have stayed in many hotels and many cheaper hotel rooms are a much higher standard than the first room 508 - and the cleanliness was not good.
