The landlord in the pub was affable and entertaining. In fact, the pub is the best part of this place. Go there for a drink, especially one of the excellent selection of whiskies.

We weren't expecting to stay in a pub, and the website gave no indication that this was the case - the photos suggest something more like a hotel. We weren't travelling on a budget, but this felt like budget accommodation. There are many other better places in or nearer Oxford for the same price. The rooms are cold, poorly furnished and finished, and uninviting; they were unprepared for us even though we had a confirmed booking. The location is miles from anything, and even the nearby, uninteresting village is too far a walk. As a one night stop- over the hotel is merely adequate, but we would have moved on immediately if we had planned a longer stay.

Breakfast should have inlcuded jam or marmalade - but not a major poitn. Also the stairs to the rooms were quite slippeery and could be dangerous - worth seeing if antislip could be used

Unpretensious and friendly atmosphere,good selection of beer/drinks,varied choice for evening meals at reasonable price and ample parking.Although the pub itself is sited alongside the main road sleeping accomodation is set back behind and away from any noise.

The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was just where we needed to be. The breakfast was very well cooked and served. The restaurant (actually just a reserved bar area) was unpretentious. We felt relaxed there

Although the room was adequate, it was well oversold in your advertising. I see now that on maps you are mentioned as a Motel not a hotel - and the rooms are indeed Motel standard. It was fine for us to stay there - just not what we were expecting for the price - we paid £85 a night, the Premier Inn advertises at £29 a night for the room and for the room, is comparable. Your food though was much better! The room heating was rather basic (=too hot or too cold) and on the ground floor we felt a little insecure having the window open at night with no lock open condition. The bed was not very comfortable (it was just OK) and had blankets rather than a quilt, and the bathroom had some mouldy fur behind the basin tap but otherwise the room was clean. An itemised bill would have been appreciated.

Very convenient for Oxford. Very welcoming and attentive staff. Very relaxing ambience. All in all a lovely couple of nights

Everything ! Location, warm reception by staff, comfortable, well appointed, warm room with excellent bathroom. We had a very relaxed supper and just had a good time !

Slightly misleading location details in description as we were looking for accommodation in Woodstock (to walk into Blenheim Palace) whereas the hotel was several miles out of the town in Woodleys. However parking was very easy at Woodstock and Blenheim.

Location just outside of Oxford, easy access to the city bus and ride servcies.

They made us very welcome, the food was good, staff friendly, close to everything we wanted to do.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Room comforable. Food in the Restaurant excellent. Position ideal for visits to Oxford & Blenheim Palace.

The only downside to our stay was discovering the W.C. in our bathroom had not been cleaned. The problem, however, was dealt with efficiently and fairly promptly. I like to think it was just a one-off oversight by the housejeeper!
