Friendly hotel, clean throughout, quirky and good value for money. Themed room. Chocolates were left for us as we had stayed during Valentine's Day Room number 15 had no toilet/bathroom door - only a curtain!

the hotel is dated and in need of a refurbishment, but it was comfortable and cheap. we only stayed for one night so it was just somewhere to lay our heads. If I was staying for a week, maybe I would be more critical. The breakfast was as good as you would get in any 4 star hotel. service was excellent. I would recommend this hotel for short stays. decor very dated .

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's overall standard. I have stayed in many of the town's hotels in the past and this one is as good as the best but beats them all on value. Parking is limited, although I managed to park my car in the hotel drive although there could be a problem at times when the hotel is more full. Immediately opposite in Duke Street, the United Reformed Church has a large park-and-display car park, so there really is no problem.

Staff were friendly, good location and very comfortable bed, breakfast was freshly cooked and was really good. Had to move room after I couldnt get the shower to work second room wasnt as nice and was on the ground floor and a bit noisy, apparently the shower was working but the staff that were workin at the time didnt know about a switch on a wall which I couldnt see or the staff, wasnt offered an apology about this or any discount so as nice as it was I prbably wouldnt return.

Very friendly polite staff. Clean themed rooms. My son and his partner had a four poster bed which they loved. We had a caribbean themed room and my daughter a chinese theme. As most hotels have identical rooms this was a pleasant suprise. There was a good choice for breakfast and the full English was excellant. Only one towell in our double room which was not changed daily

The hotel is in a great location, just off Lord Street. I went with 2 friends and we booked 3 single rooms, which turned out to be double rooms, on the ground floor, next to each other, which were spotlessly clean, with very comfortable beds. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was freshly cooked, really good. We will definitely stay there again.
