The location of the hotel was beautiful.Walking around the grounds after breakfast before going out and about in the Cotswolds. The view from my room was breathtaking, the weather being lovely and sunny, and all the different colours of the trees in the grounds.I Didn"t eat dinner at the hotel but breakfast was excellent and the dining room lovely.

As an older couple we liked being offered help with our luggage. We also liked the warm atmosphere in the dining room. The log fires were a lovely touch. To access our room we had to walk through workmen. There were tins of paint and tools left in the corridors when not working. Our room could have been warmer. Our bathroom door hinge was loose (mentioned to receptionist) The washbasin tap had the end missing (mentioned to receptionist) Steak on Saturday evening was so tough, my husband could not eat it. IHe mentioned this to waitress who apologised. When we said we enjoyed our dessert, we got the comment "that made up for the steak then".

Just what we hoped it would be Although there was a large wedding party we had a very peaceful and private large room away from the music and the dining room staff were very good to the guests who were eating there We took our Golden retriever with us and had lovely walks in the magnificent grounds in such a tranquil area The lakes were an added attraction with the pair of black swans and much wildlife

Friendly, helpful staff A nicely decorated historical country setting Great to see a lift in an old house like this, which was much appreciated by my parents. Good value Champagne offer Difficult to find the entrance to the hotel in the dark as there are no lights by the entrance gate from the village. There were 8 of us for dinner and although all of the food was served at the same time, some of it was not hot. Cooked breakfast contained only one egg - staff should have asked if more than one was required as normally I would anticipate 2 poached eggs on an otherwise empty plate!

The hotel was idyllic - Downton Abbey / Pride & Predudice like. The family room we stayed in was a lot larger than we expected and was very comfortable. Everywhere was very clean and all the staff were very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was cooked lovely and was very fresh. Nothing to dislike for the purpose of our one night visit. If staying longer it does need more facitilities.

What a beautiful place. The smell of wood fires greets you and the staff are really helpful. The hotel has undergone a bit of a refurb recently and the roome we had was lovely! (#6) Would recommend staying here for business or pleasure. The surrounding countryside is a wonderful backdrop for this historical hall.

Dumbleton Hall is a really amazing place to stay, packed full of history. The public rooms and staircase are very impressive. Our room was large, comfortable and had lovely views of the garden terraces and beyond. The choice at breakfast was wide and both the quality and service were excellent. Great value for money! We all left Dumbleton wanting to return again soon

Lovely old property on beautiful grounds. Great sized room for a family of four, with comfortable beds and a huge bathroom. Well cooked English breakfast. The first girl we encountered on the front desk was not friendly and did not make us feel welcome (the second girl we encountered, who was the manager, was lovely though). The berries at breakfast were still frozen and the "fresh" apples were bruised and soft.

We arrived on the Sunday, weather was beautiful, and as we drove up to the Manor very breath taking. Hotel, staff and surroundings could not fault at all. Room was clean and comfortable, and staff where very helpful. Service was good We ate one night what i would say although the food was very nice little pricey for what you got. Other than that breakfast was plenty for the 3 night s we stayed

Dumbleton Hall is as nice a hotel as we have stayed in for many years. It has a very charming atmosphere of olde worlde comfort and elegance. The imposing large manor house building is set in beautiful grounds that abound with wildlife, particularly in the morning. Our room was very spacious and well appointed with a very large and modern bathroom and plenty of storage space. The range of options for breakfast (which was included in the room rate) is extensive and the dinner menu offers good choices that we tested on the two nights of our stay. We used the hotel as a base for a couple of days around the Cotswolds, and with our car, it was perfect for that, but it would also be wonderful to just stay in and around the hotel for a restful break. Dumbeton and the hotel are not the easiest places to find and we found it almost by accident. Better instructions would be useful.
