Situated in Stow-on-the-Wold, in the heart of the Costwolds, Stuart House Boutique Bedrooms offers en suite accommodation with free WiFi. This guest house is set in a grade II listed townhouse.
Score from 101 reviews Exceptional
The hotel advises that Wifi is readily available however you need to be in the reception area to obtain any sort of signal and the strength is very poor indeed, if the hotel advises Wifi is available you should be able to get a signal any where in the hotel. We waited 50 mins for our cooked breakfast on the Sunday morning without any explanation as to the delay.
Friendly, attentive staff.Warm greeting on arrival; great breakfast and service; wonderful location; accommodation for single room was excellent
Staff extremely helpful. Food was very good. Beautiful setting.
Secluded location, close to places to visit, yet easily accessible.
Food, Excellent clean and comfortable Kingsize bed, cleanliness of bathroom. The grounds to walk in and the wildlife around.
Excellent location in a quiet village. Extensive grounds. Good base for touring the Cotswolds.
Hotel in need of some redecoration.
Location was stunning although it was Autumn, set in wonderful grounds. Customer service was beyond expectations very friendly staff . Food second to none. Good quality clean tasty food in abundance. Enough breakfast to last all day! Accommodation atmospheric and welcoming especially the warm open fire on a wet damp day. Intend returning with the wife for her birthday treat in the not so distant future. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a stay at Dumbleton Hall.
Wish I had booked for the week!
The location is absolutely spectacular, the pictures on line do not give it credit. The exterior suggests something out of a movie set.
Once inside, the hotel looks a little run down and shabby. The carpets are a little worn and the paint could use some warmer colors. Both on arrival and on leaving we had to wait until someone called up the receptionist. The food was not outstanding but the prices certainly were. Small detail, but the bathrooms had almost no towel bars or hangers. All in all, 3 star quality with 5 star prices.
Relaxed cosy atmosphere - staff friendly and helpful. Amazing country views with great walks. Definately a place to stay if you want to relax and take a step back.
Location and surroundings
Shower was not as clean as I would like to see. Breakfast eggs were slightly off.
Stunning location and grounds
Decor slightly dated and smelly drains in our room
We liked the staff, food, bar, outside environment, afternoon tea on the terrace
Comfortable lounge, excellent staff , room and bed comfortable. First class breakfast and dinner. The cedar trees were magnificent as was the deer and fawn in the morning
Wine and drinks were a bit dear. £20 for a bottle of wine which probably cost no more than £5 was a bit much
Public areas and halls were poorly maintained: Tired and a bit shabby. Understaffed
The drive up to the house is breathtakingly beautiful! The house itself is so lovely & it's great to read & see the history of the House. You can really sense how they lived. The grounds are stunning & well kept . The lake is beautiful. The staff truly make your experience at Dumbleton to be rememorable & I thank them for that. I had a chocolate cake for my birthday, champagne & handmade chocolates in the room when I arrived! (Hubby organized & paid for these!) The four poster bed was very comfortable & the bedding was of a high quality too. Food was beautifully presented & was excellent in flavours & choice. It was a set menu, but very varied.
Great location and magnificent building with an amazing history. Rooms and facilities were extremely good. Food from the restaurant was very good quality.
Food was below standard
Location, size of room, facilities, look of hotel
Evening meal, bland and not good value for money eat out if you can !
Lovely countryside location. Building and grounds resemble a National Trust property with lots of history to read about. Food at dinner and breakfast was very good.
Inevitably the hotel is used for weddings on summer Saturdays and when we visited the whole place was taken over by the party. The live band played till midnight.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting and centrally located to visit the surrounding area. We would definitely stay again.
The food was overpriced in the restaurant and the meal we had was poor value for money.
Food, afternoon tea.
We are both disabled with Multiple Sclerosis. The 'disabled' room we were given had no mattress protector on the bed and we couldn't use the shower as it was above the bath which we couldn't get in.
Quiet Classic Hotel Food very good
Location, peace and quiet.
The hotel said it accepted dogs. The staff were so helpful with every request we made with regard to our dog, and all seemed to be dog lovers. They made such a fuss of Millie.
