From the first day we met the Proprietor Colin he was nothing but a pleasure to be around. We had a mishap with our toilet, no fault of his or ours but he was straight to fix it and even offered us a different room. The decor inside is to a very good standard, and the beds as comfy as one could expect! If anyone is staying, I would definitely recommend the breakfast as it was brilliant, never had a morning breakfast like it, it definitely set us up for our day and prepared us for our meetings! If we we're to stay in Dumfries again, I would definitely make Dumfries Villa my first point of call. Just wish all our hotel stays we're a similar experience, as I could not fault it!
There was nothing we didn't like!!
This B&B is very well located just a two minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes from the town centre. The room was spacious and the rate was good value for single occupancy. The owner was friendly and accommodating.
The bathroom is tiny and the toilet has a noisy electric shredder and pump which also operates whenever you run the hot water. The breakfast was adequate but could do with an upgrade. The wifi reception and internet speed in the bedroom upstairs was poor.
My first time staying in a B&B and it was excellent. Room was spotlessly clean, breakfast was really nice and the service was top notch. Will definitely stay again.
I stayed here whilst touring scotland with a friend, the owner was very polite and friendly, the room was comfortable quiet and well decorated, having a bathroom in the corridor was a bit annoying! but for the price i paid im not complaining, its a very short walk from the main town so going out for food is easy! breakfast was really nice a good selection of food to have! space to park cars too next to the B&B, a perfect location for a stop off exploring scotland!
situation proximity to centre of town pre-arranged breakfast heating that works well wonderful shower shampoo and soap for the weary traveller
Excellent stay large comfy room , Good choice at breakfast ,Colin the Owner a polite and friendly guy
Just on the edge of the town center so you can park your car at the house and walk to wherever you wish to go. Good hot breakfast. Great value for money.
staying in own annexe, going for breakfast to main house in the mornings. good choice on breakfast menu.
We received a friendly welcome from the owner. We stayed in a room which was an annexe. It was pleasantly furnished and very clean. Plenty of tea and coffee and lots of milk!!our breakfast was excellently cooked and served by a pleasant young lady. We would definitely stay there again if we were visiting the area.
lots to like-closeness to railway station.guess 1-2 minutes on its main rd, very amenable and friendly management and staff, clean rooms, a superfriendly dog to play with in front garden, tasty breakfast, intend going back and this my 1st choice
2 key holes on my room door. one yale type and the other type-gawd knows how long wiggling till nice staff member came across(just needs a bit of filler to avoid further embarrassment), nothing else really
Perfect stop over, on way to Elgin. I only needed a single room, own shower room next door. Cheerful staff. Brilliant breakfast. Easy walk to the high st with shops, pubs and restaurants. Great price.
Easy Walking distance to Town
The location was fairly easy to find. We were near shops, restaurants etc.Having a main floor room was an added bonus. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was excellent.
Friendly staff ood location nothing not to like would recommend
the owner Colin was very friendly and most approachable. The young lady waiting on at breakfast was also very friendly. The whole experience of staying here was thoroughly enjoyable.
The vegetarian breakfast, the friendly staff, the relaxing decor, the competitive price, the free wifi.
The carpet in my room was grubby but the rest of the room was very clean.
Nice building, good room overlooking war memorial. Car park space. Friendly Nice breakfast.
Decor old fashioned but typical for that type of accommodation.
Friendly staff, good breakfast served at the time requested, comfortable room.
room was very good, clean and tidy. lots of tea coffee and biscuits. in a quiet location. room decor was good, everything you could want for a night away from home, Very good.
car park limited space
Lovely quiet location and very close to the river, Arts Centre and Casa Mia restaurant which is superb. I have stayed here before and intend to return again next year.
Car park is a bit tight for space but not really a problem if you are careful.
Close to the railway station & town centre, I arrived very late time but didn't have problem to find the way. Lovely house and comfortable room. And good to try full scottish breakfast here.
the guest house is close enough to the town to allow easy in and out visits, but far enough out for a bit of peace.
The toilet is very noisy!
Good location, nice staff.
Breakfast could do with being a later finish.
Hotel was very clean, plenty of tea, coffee and milk supplied in the room. Plenty of choice for breakfast. In a lovely area. Would definitely recommend.
