scrambled eggs at breakfast
Wonderful, exemplary staff, nothing too much trouble. Upgraded to suite in arrival.
The room was very cold and hadn't been prepoed for guest arrival properly. The decor in the room could do with a refresh and the bath front was actually rotten wood with a large hole in it.
Lovely small hotel with lots of character, good location. Excellent breakfast and very good value for money.
Have stayed here previously, felt hotel looked a little tired, shower was a let down, no force at all. Felt the small sitting room looked drap and unwelcoming. The rooms are named after the munros , good idea but that's it. Why not put a big print on the wall rather than a flower, along with information about that particular Munro. Also why wasn't the fire on in the lounge, would have made it more welcoming on a cold frosty winter night and might have had a drink in the lounge .
Food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast. Well looked after by John & Brian and our dog was made v. Welcome too!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great only a couple of miles from Inverness and the hotel is quite luxurious in beautiful grounds and makes an ideal place for a weekend getaway.
Lovely friendly welcoming ambience, small hotel with a cosy feel and wonderful roaring log fire in the lounge.
The menu was limited and very expensive especially for business travellers who are on budgets.
Staff could not do enough...very helpful. Excellent breakfast cooked to order
No issues at all
Amazing welcome. They had read my eMail and knew about our requirements. We were upgraded to a larger room with a bath. There were very few guests due to the time of year but they could not have made us more welcome. Roaring fire, food was amazing and my knowledge of whiskey has greatly improved! Excellent
Nothing! There was no way they could have improved our stay.
But they served is anyways! If you get this place on a groupon of a deal night! DO NOT pass it by! The room was so comfortable and clean.
bathroom a bit smallish- but ok
Cozy lounge, staff were very warm and welcoming, food was excellent. Stunning location
Our bathroom window on the ground floor didn't lock. No minibar
Location, friendliness, helpfulness, comfort, late check-in
Warm, friendly staff. Beautiful building and grounds. Comfy room. Excellent breakfast. Easy parking.
Draughty corridors and rooms. Hard to find in the dark. No bar (!)
A lovely spacious, homely place in the country although one is very conveniently just out of town. Pretty garden. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food and service. Loved the wood fire in the lounge. Warm and cosy. The gardener was out early to grit the road as it was full of ice the first morning. Would love to go in the summer and enjoy breakfast on the garden patio!
Staff were friendly and helpful
Rotten bath panel and windows banging at night
The explanations by the waiters of the dishes - they were amply fulfilled by the delciious food
No problems at all
Best nights sleep I've had in ages. Lovely large room with excellent customer care demonstrated by all the staff. Being 37wks pregnant we wanted to stay somewhere special and this fitted the bill exactly. We would highly recommend the hotel and would return in a flash!!!!
Possibly a light on the roadsign would be handy as we drove past at night.
Lovely setting.Very good breakfast. Hotel very clean. Staff attentive and helpful during stay.
Initially presented with bill 300 pounds over booking price. Senior staff member then called to desk and after several minutes, found correct price on computer. Stay due to family bereavement. Staff member knew this but gave me no apology for mix up. Could definitely have done without this.
Beautifully peaceful setting with ample grounds. Highly professional and very hospitable staff; excellent standard of comfort and cleanliness. Interesting and diverse menus with emphasis on fine local ingredients all prepared with significant culinary expertise. Real value for money at the high end of Highland hospitality.
Nothing not to like!
Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. Staff were friendly, kind and efficient. Best antidote to the stresses of the day is to relax by the roaring fire with a wee tipple. Breakfasts were first class, and don't forget to try the Belgian chef's chocolates as they are seriously delicious.
Very comfortable stay. Friendly and efficient staff. Lovely surroundings
Real milk in the room fridge, great dinner beautifully presented, comfy sofas, attentive but not too attentive staff. I've already recommended it to two friends.
The bed was lovley. The evening meal, although quite expensive and very 'nouveau' was amazingly good. I really recommend the venison.
The shower was not very strong.
The outside lighting was very poor ,also on the road side sign unable to be seen after dark.
The staff Location
What a beautiful location, nearer Inverness than we thought. Staff were genuinely friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very good , one of our party hade the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. The salmon on its own was an absolute feast.
The ceiling above the shower needed a paint as did the bath panel. Just small things with a big impact. !
