The hotel grounds were stunning. The room size was fantastic. Tea/Coffee making facilities were excellent as was the provision of a fridge and free bottled water. Breakfast was very impressive. All in all a fantastic hotel in a perfect location. The bathroom fittings were a bit tired and could do with updating. The bathroom could also have been slightly cleaner. (There were some blood smears on the door and tiles which I had to clean myself!) It detracted slightly from the otherwise luxurious surroundings but didn't spoil our stay.

staff - every member, without exception, was very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and staff went out of their way to assist in choice. the bathroom. An elderly or anyone with a slight disability would not be able to either get into the bath or use the shower. The shower screen was static, and you have to climb into the bath (which was high) to operate either the bath taps or the shower. Both myself and husband found this difficult and neither of us have a disability!

The food at this hotel is a real surprise, it is as good as any Michelin starred restaurant. It badly needs an Interior Designer to give it a makeover, the public rooms are so dull which is a shame as the house has some great features. New decor with the current chef would be a real winner!

Food was delicious. Hotel is in dire need of maintenance, windows were rotten and crumbling, bath panel cracked and dirty, windows could not lock, room was needing cleaned, furniture was dusty. Reception was tatty, not a good impression on arrival. Needs a bar.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a good size and comfortable and the bed was great. Hotel is in the countryside not far from Inverness, so it was quiet and restful. Good views from eastern side of hotel. Restaurant staff were inattentive. I had to go and find the waiter at one stage to give him an order at breakfast. Dinner waiter was better although the food came out a bit fast. On my second night, I asked for there to be more time between courses but it was still a bit fast. On commenting on this, I was told the chef had said it had to be served when it was ready!

Staff were very welcoming and flexible. Did not want to eat in the restaurant on the second night so planned room service or bar food. Staff said I could have the bar menu in the restaurant so got the best of both worlds. All of the food was delicious. We had read on the internet booking site that the hotel rooms could be cold but found the opposite. Room and throughout the hotel was very warm and comfortable - staff said heating issues in 2011 had been resolved by new system and it certainly solved the problem - it was cosy when very cold outside. Liked the gardens particularly the walled garden/decked area although the weather did not allow use of these areas. I booked an accessible room in the main building and ended up with a beautiful room with adjoining sitting area looking onto the gardens. The hotel was very accessible to Inverness and close to business venue. Would definitely visit again. Food was delicious but thought the range of food available both on the dinner/bar menu could have been extended/varied a bit more especially if guests are staying a few days.

The location is superb, minutes from Inverness and yet in the quiet countryside close to Loch Ness. The staff are excellent, they offer a very friendly personnal touch as its a small hotel. They were all very proffessional and passionate about their job. The room was beautiful, spacious and very romantic. It was old fashioned and yet had all the modern touches you want. The building and garden are so pretty. It must be a real treat in summer. Also parking is ample. The dinners were fantastic. Really well prepared local produce. I liked that you sit in a living room next to the log fire with a pre-dinner drink and the menu. Your food order is taken there. They take you through to the dining room as the first course is about to arrive and the wine you ordered earlier is ready on the table. Can I go back there now please?? There is no bar. That said you sit in the lounge and within seconds a wine and Whisky menu arrives. There is no milk in the room for Tea/Coffee despite a fridge in the room. You call reception and they bring some to order within seconds. They claim its because they want guests to only have the freshest food/drink in their hotel. This is good, but how many of us want to be seen minutes after getting out of bed!!!

Very large spacious room, lovely clean bathroom, excellent views The fire alarm went off at 5.15am during our stay, there was no staff around to advise what to do or if it was a false alarm. Staff took time to come to reception when asking for advise on certain matters.

From the start the staff were very helpful and informative. The rooms are very traditional country house, well specced and delightful. The evening meal was not cheap but one of the best I have ever eaten out, the pudding (pannacotta) was definitely the best tasted. Only stayed one night as it was a work trip
