Excellent WIFI. Great gym & pool. Large comfortable rooms. Courtyard rooms are very convenient for accessing the gym and pool.
No real ale, I didn't expect hand pull but no bottles either. Expensive food & drink (but catering to a captive market). Jacuzzi is a bit disappointing, as part of, and same temperature as the pool. Hotel is a bit spread out.
Fantastic stay, room was huge and spotlessly clean. Nice breakfast and very attentive staff
Boy the room was hot, but that's just me who likes things cooler
Good value for money and enjoyed the meal in the restaurant too
We heard one guest complain that there was no policy for clamping cars who park in disabled spaces- have to say I agree with him that ther should be
Spa, Internet worked, Big Room
Car Park is a disgrace and has been the same for a long time. It is difficult to park without getting out of your car in a puddle if it has been raining. Staff need to be more able to make customers feel welcome. Not bad but plastic and could definitely be improved with a little training or recruitment selection.
Good Food Fair price for Hotel food & wine
Had to go back outside for room & gym
Pleasant staff, easy location, tasty breakfast, champagne by the glass. The receptionist willingly helped with photocopying and didn't charge.
Reception staff were exceptionally helpful trying to deal with problems caused by other staff negligence
Breakfast in room card wasn't picked up so no food, room service forgot parts of orders, quality of good was average at best
Staff very helpful, bedrooms large and well equipped, food good quality, with plenty of choice. Pool lovely. Lots of Christmas party groups in the evenings, but none of them disturbed our sleep or spoilt our enjoyment.
Car parking a bit limited and we had to wait a bit for a table at breakfast, BUT it was party season, so totally expected and no problem.
Being able to sit in the bar and not be in the disgusting rooms
The cleanliness of the rooms . 207 208 and 202 disgusting dirty smelly actually appalling curtains walks bathrooms and toilets not cleaned properly from previous guests . The hygiene side very bad indeed I need of a refurbishment I think
The staff are very helpful and courteous, the breakfast was excellent and the room was comfortable.
In a modern hotel, the lack of an in room fridge was something of a letdown.
Loved the room and facilities
For disabled everything was such a long way away and such long walks each time through heavy swing doors.
All of it
Rooms were made nicely each night. Nice building and nice view from the window.
Asked for a double room, was provided with a bed with 2 single mattereses. This was then changed on request for the remaining 3 night out of 4. Had to shower on one occasion with cold water due to there not being hot water available. Requested a towel through the phone, it was not delivered to my room.
The whole experience I travelled to football and the hotel was perfect for my weekend
Location very close to relatives we were visiting Price paid via Booking.com very competitive Good breakfast
Room very cold - no central heating system just electric heaters. Poor double glazing - mould around windows. Large bathroom with only a heated towel rail for warmth
The staff very helpful and friendly. The staff manager at breakfast managed a quite chaotic breakfast period extremely well. The room was clean, it was very quiet and we both had an excellent sleep.
The hotel had the bridge club tournament on which led to long queues for a table at breakfast. Once we got a seat after about 30 minutes, we had self servicewhich was fine as was the choice at breakfast. However tea and coffee was served by staff and they were posted missing. I had finished my breakfast before eventually attracting the attention of the waiter which somewhat spoiled the meal.
The setting and area
No coffee or tea making facilities in the room. Therefore quite expensive room service.
politeness cleanliness room breakfast
The room was comfortable and the customer service was very attentive.
The food was not very good and the location was a bit remote
The mattress on the bed was terribly uncomfortable. The food was cold on our evening meal for one of our friends, it was replaced but was the same piece of lamb just now over cooked. We were seated in the portrait room in which we had to listen to people on Christmas parties arguing and using bad language. We had our civil ceremony here 3 years ago and it was fantastic but felt very disappointed and do not think we would stay again.
Use of the gym, spa and swimming pool
Breakfast not included
Location excellent Leisure facilities excellent Quiet Excellent car parking
Room 98 Flickering main light complete with strobe effect. So bad that the light bulb had to be removed. Stain on the ceiling that looked quite ominous next to the fan that decided when it felt like working. Heat unbearable in the room. The Bed had its own Grand Canyon in the middle the slightest act of rolling over resulted in sinking to the abyss. £247 for three nights in the unbearable room 98. Food awful.
Bar is excellent
Outside was freezing. I came into room and it was not warm at all. I had to put heating on! This is not a motel with two stars. Rooms need renovation or at least mine. It probably looked fancy in 80's but today it looks like from tv series that my grandma follows.
Friendly staff and good facilities
Friendly efficient staff. Good food and comfortable rooms. Handy location.
Minor point: iPhone map & satnav took us to a location the wrong side of a busy junction. The hotel should be able to get Apple, or whoever, to correct this.
