The setting and area
No coffee or tea making facilities in the room. Therefore quite expensive room service.
politeness cleanliness room breakfast
The room was comfortable and the customer service was very attentive.
The food was not very good and the location was a bit remote
The mattress on the bed was terribly uncomfortable. The food was cold on our evening meal for one of our friends, it was replaced but was the same piece of lamb just now over cooked. We were seated in the portrait room in which we had to listen to people on Christmas parties arguing and using bad language. We had our civil ceremony here 3 years ago and it was fantastic but felt very disappointed and do not think we would stay again.
Use of the gym, spa and swimming pool

Location excellent Leisure facilities excellent Quiet Excellent car parking
Room 98 Flickering main light complete with strobe effect. So bad that the light bulb had to be removed. Stain on the ceiling that looked quite ominous next to the fan that decided when it felt like working. Heat unbearable in the room. The Bed had its own Grand Canyon in the middle the slightest act of rolling over resulted in sinking to the abyss. £247 for three nights in the unbearable room 98. Food awful.
Bar is excellent
Outside was freezing. I came into room and it was not warm at all. I had to put heating on! This is not a motel with two stars. Rooms need renovation or at least mine. It probably looked fancy in 80's but today it looks like from tv series that my grandma follows.
Friendly staff and good facilities
Friendly efficient staff. Good food and comfortable rooms. Handy location.
Minor point: iPhone map & satnav took us to a location the wrong side of a busy junction. The hotel should be able to get Apple, or whoever, to correct this.
Service levels dire and room decor very tired!
The room was VERY spacious and comfortable. Nice and warm had everything I needed. Restaurant Menu was good and great valure too. Friendly and helpful staff. A great nights sleep no noise from other guests or hotel itself.
Great gym Deliscious breakfast buffet Great castle-look
rather long walk to the room, but there are luggage carriers if necessary
The room (98) had two very small windows very high up which you couldn't look out of. The windows was open all night, we had the ceiling fan on full and an additional desk top fan on full but was far too hot to sleep. The bed was broken as it had a very servere sag in the middle - I estimated the sag to be between 3 and 4 inches !! The pillows were also very uncomfortable. Would I use this hotel again? No. Would I recommend this hotel to friends and family ? No. Horrendous !!!!!
The professionalism of the reception staff on arrival . Room very clean and spacious . Food in restaurant very good and well priced bar staff and all waiting on staff polite and friendly our daughters wedding was perfect and no one had any complaints
why is it called Blackburn mercure when it is in Hynburn so main town Accrington but hotel in Clayton le moors . Nit picking but we are proud in Clayton of having a hotel of this stature
Staff friendly and professional. Breakfast good with plenty of choice buffet style. On quieter morning breakfast cooked to your own specific order. Room 109 very comfortable and spacious very good value will visit again.
My one thought here would be a little more information in your room about hotel and things available.
The age and feel of the hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly but also professional
The bar prices
the room was a brilliant size and was very clean bed was very comfy and had no disturbance
