The peace and quiet. Was not busy, so when we did come back to our room, we got to relax. We did book the courtyard room, but there was heavy rain, so had a poor nights sleep on our first night due to velux windows. We advised the staff who offered us an alternate room straight away. Both staff at the guest house were very friendly and made our staff extra enjoyable. We also enjoyed their breakfast too, which was all freshly made. |

We felt like second class citizens, the owners have another hotel so when you stay here it feels like you are just an afterthought, which is a bit unreasonable considering the price, and the fact that normally with a UK bed and breakfast you are made to feel welcome. As for breakfast, the toast was burnt but they would not make fresh - and certainly not worth the extra you have to pay. |

We weren't actually in the Dunlay Guest House. We were in the Berkely Mews Hotel because despite booking online the guest house was double booked. We were happy as a hotel would much nicer. The rooms were very plush. The hotel provided us with everything we actually needed. Very nice rooms with good bathrooms/showers, close to the city centre and the venue of the weddinWhen we arrived it seemed they had let out one of the rooms in the family suite we'd been promised so we had to change rooms on the second night. Everything was very new which I think also explains why it wasn't 100% efficiently run. Apparently breakfast was available but we never found out where it was served. All the doors into the main building seemed to be locked The staff had always been very helpful and friendly but on the morning we left there was no one around - a good thing we didn't want breakfast - and no-one was answering the phone so we had to drive to the Dunlay Guest House and ring the bell. Eventually the owner's son got out of bed ( it was about 9.30am) but couldn't process our bill so I had to get him to write our card details down on a scrap of paper. I don't know yet whether it has been processed. |

very friendly, very helpful and felt very much at home. would highly recommend & and would like to try the berkeley hotel which is the same owners. Could you please send me details of the hotel as we would like to book for next year. I think maybe a breakfast menu to let guests know what they can order, apart from that excellent |

Very friendly staff and full of useful information on the area. We felt like one of the family! I don't think we got the room that we booked, however, we were still very pleased. |

We really liked Meghan and her assistant. We had a slight problem in that we didn;t have a working cell phone, and there was note on the door to call them. We found a neighbor outside who lent a cell phone, and M was there in two minutes...The breakfasts were wonderful and it was a pretty little room, very old and charming. No phone in room, but we didn't care. |

Ignore the frighteningly late check-in times; the owners have another place they run, which I think is the reason why they say check-in is from 6pm onwards or whatever it is, but they're happy for you to check in at a more reasonable time if you drop them an email. Our room was fine; comfortable bed, tiny but practical bathroom, TV and Internet if we needed it. |

Megan the owner was very helpful and even though Booking.com had overbooked her she put us up in another of her properties which was very comfortable, decorated beautifully and in an equally good location. |
