Score from 572 reviews Wonderful
The room and the food were excellent. The breakfasts in particular were outstanding, although the one evening meal we had was not too bad.
Nothing other than finding the place, and the weather.
Friendly and helpful Staff. Very clean hotel and rooms. Rustic charm. Ideal place to stay if you like period country houses.
Road to Dunsley Hall, badly lit and very narrow. Car park rather small spaces.
The hotel was set in lovely grounds in a rural location. The house itself was old and interesting and our room was clean and comfortable.
We had to wait for quite a while for our food (cooked breakfast on both days and a bar meal in the evening).
We aren't vegetarians but I like to eat vegetarian food but the menu seems very limited on that score. In fact, the bar menu didn't seem to have any vegetarian options on it
The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfy. Staff were very helpful building was lovely.
It's a bit out of the way and as there's not a great deal to do at the hotel or around it, a taxi into whitby is your only option unless you want to drive everywhere.
Everything will deffinatly stop again
Nothing was all good
The hotel was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive.
The green safety light that was on constantly in out room throughout our stay.
Staff were nice and helpful, location was quiet and not too far from Whitby town, breakfast was nice
The room was a good size but not worth the cost. We had no hot water Sat night & the shower was also cold, after a day of travelling & walking we would have liked a shower or wash.
The food and staff were excellent. Room ok. Had better had worse. The hairdryer was disgusting needs replacing. Food very good value for money.
Location, room size, quality
No shower screen or shower over bath
Room 18 excessive noise from vent fans from the kitchen until 10pm & early AM
Location Character of Building Old world charm Breakfast
everything . This was a lovely venue, relaxed atmosphere & the staff were excellent. I'd go again anytime
Very relaxing. Friendly staff. And the breakfast was perfect. The hotel is the perfect distance from whitby town center to be peacefully quiet.
The building and location are fantastic.Staff were excellent and the food was fabulous.
Didn't have a shower but this was a minor detail as we were offered an alternative room
Park & ride from near by. Close to Sands end The Lounge complementary sherry on Friday night
The sausage was like sawdust but rest of breakfast was great incomplete games in lounge
The food was very good and the smaller restaurant much much nicer to eat in. The potential is there but it all costs money....was told a revamp is to take place over winter
Like many such places the potential is all there but the place does need a substantial upgrade grounds, layout etc. eg bedroom opening onto a small garden area which should have been very nice but dominated by a propane tank without any bushes to screen it.
Probably wasted on us - we've been married for 25 years! Only joking. The facilities were super, staff were attentive, breakfasts were well presented and good quality. The cod in wholegrain mustard sauce for breakfast was very tasty. Location and views from hotel are lovely.
Nothing to complain about. We have travelled pretty broadly and stayed in some very nice places over recent years. We would definately recommend this hotel from all perspectives. We will go again.
- Location: - Quality of breakfast; - New and extremely comfortable bathroom with a heated floor; furniture quality; - great shower cabin (although slippery...careful)
- a "weird" way to make the room. The maid literally sometimes just put the sheets and blankets on top of the bed again without doing anything else....
Our room consisted of a large bedroom,a living room and modern bathroom tastefully furnished. We had dinner which was extremely good and moderately priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. The 4 acres of grounds were well maintained and helped walk off the full English breakfast.
The fact that it was only 2miles from Whitby, which is why we stayed. The breakfast was average, plenty to eat.
Receptionist extremely helpful. We had booked two twin rooms but receptionist swapped us to family room as children 12 and 14. Room was great
Clean and tidy all around.
Itv in room 10 was a hit and miss as well as wifi it was very intermittent.
Dining room and lounge Location Breakfast staff very helpful Pleasant grounds Quiet and peaceful Relaxing atmosphere.
Room was too small I felt there should have been a larger welcoming reception area Long corridors and quite confusing layout. Putting green poor standard
room was lovely spacious and relaxing
tennis court used as a car park which was very disappointing as we only booked with this in mind orignally
