It's recently been done up so it's very clean. The docor is lovely, expensive finishings modern but tasteful. There is no noise at night I heard practically nothing in my room at all. WIFI was excellent. The bar area was very relaxed and the service was great. The food is of a high standard I had 2 starters instead of main meal and both were delicious. Molten Brown toiletries are nice touch. Parking can be awkward, not many spaces.

We loved everything about the hotel from the decor to the friendliness of the staff. We would definitely visit again. The radiator was on full blast in the bedroom overnight. We felt like we were suffocating!

VERY nice old house turned B&B. Very well appointed, clean, classy, etc., etc. Food in the restaurant was excellent! Both breakfast and dinner were very well prepared and filling! I stayed in a single room #17, which was TINY. Best decorated and most comfortable "walk-in closet" I have stayed in, though! It was fine for my purposes, but If you feel like you need some extra elbow room, spring for a double even if you are alone.

The hotel is lovely and tastefully decorated. The staff are excellent and the food very good. The area around the hotel is very nice and the walk to city centre is vey easy. The room was too small for two people- more suited to a single person.

We really liked the comfortable room and conveniences. The staff were great. the meals were great too. We can't choose one of the best words which describes Dunstane House. It was elegant, very comfortable, and blissfully quiet at night.

Nice beds and pillows. Friendly staff. Tea/coffee facilities. Modern bathrooms and excellent linens. All areas are clean. Well prepared meals. Within walking distance of city centre and the castle. Bus service passes the door. High bar prices. Limited menu. Bathroom door would not close. Limited parking spaces, (though you can use sister hotel across the road.

Everything. I have paid similar amounts of money and come away feeling let down by the quality of the design and fixtures and fittings. The Dunstane however delivered everything it said it would and more again. Fabulous. The bar music. Very old. Could be updated and still be relaxing.

Warm cosy atmosphere, close to the centre of Edinburgh, but no noise. Staff friendly. Room great. Would have liked fresh milk in the room. Bacon and sausages not good.

Excellent staff. Rooms were top notch, very comfortable and modern. Breakfast was spot on. Fan noise came on in the middle of the night. Not very loud but enough to stop my partner from sleeping.

There was no parking available, despite this being specifically requested on the booking. On the Saturday, it was the Scotland v Wales Rugby international. The management crammed as many people into the bar as possible. There was no room to move. People were crowded into the corridor and onto the stairs. This was the case before and after the game. They kept serving customers who were clearly intoxicated - to the point they could easily walk. The noise from the bar in an establishment of this size was disgraceful. This was the delightful entertainment which accompanied the dinner service, and it included an attempted entrance by someone who could not distinguish between the bar and the dining room. Somehow, the cost of a meal increased in 24 hrs as well. The dinner on Saturday was marketed as a 2 or 3 course set price. In reality, it was pretty much the same menu as the Friday but a a meal that would have cost £30 suddenly cost £39. The management gave the impression of not being bothered about the residents and only seemed to are about cramming as many people into the bar as possible and supplying them with as much alcohol as they could pay for.

I realy liked the hotel and staff were friendly and could not do enough for us the meals we did have were excellent as well. I woulld stay here again despite the price of the drink. The price of drinks were far to expensive £10 10 for a glass of chardannay with a small bottle of lemonade and a pint of fresh orange and lemonade. Way out of order I would say.

The staff were exceptionally helpful with our computer problems and were delightfully friendly. The food was delicious. The bedroom was huge and sunny. The position was very good with buses just outside. The 4poster bed was not as comfortable as it looked and the pillows were hard. The bathroom was poky .

Room was nice and decorated well so it had a warm feeling to it with an added luxury to it... Not like your average hotel.. It was more classy like. Friendly staff... Great location for going to rugby. Good pillows and nice bed sheets...it's the little things that make a difference. Good value for money. Didn't realise it only had a shower...apparently all rooms apart from the disabled one have showers which is a shame as we were very happy with it.

The warm welcome and friendly staff. The newly refurbished interior. The rib-eye steak from Orkney cut like butter! Superb location to Westend of town. Bedroom no.20 is new and stunning. Excellent information in bedroom guest folder Turn the bedroom rads down and save some money. The new bathroom would have benifitted from a bigger 900 quadrant shower. No where to put your shampoo/soap in the shower.

The comfortable four poster bed and the toiletries. Breakfast was very good and the service excellent. Excellent picture on the tv. The room was very comfortable. Unfortunately the lighting in our room was poor, very difficult to read at night in bed but this may have been the drapes around the four poster bed that prevented the light getting through, the answer may be stronger bulbs???
