What a beautiful hotel! I booked a single room which was (as expected) very small, but it was so charming, and comfortable I couldn't have been happier. The staff of the Dunstane House are so friendly & knowledgeable about things to do in town & provide honest opinions rather than just sending you to the biggest tourist attractions in town. Overall one of the most welcoming & beautiful guest houses I've ever stayed at, I will stay with them again.

For the price we couldn't complain! The staff were always very accommodating and always willing to help us, even giving us extra hot chocolate sachets when we asked for more. The room was always clean and we even got clean towels when we didn't require them - always a plus! Yeah our room was small (as some reviews I have read were upset about) but it was cosy and extremely comfy and clean! We would certainly stay again! A problem for my partner but not myself was the free wifi at the hotel, the signal kept dropping out and he struggled to get signal but this may because of the fact we were on the top floor so may not have good signal - but it didn't spoil our stay. Also at breakfast on the second day, by the time we had gone down they had ran out of sausages (whether this was because we went down late or they didn't get a delivery) but we expected extra bacon or something to compensate the loss, but we didn't - a slight disappointing.

It was really easy to get into town as the bus stop was just outside the hotel. Also the free parking was a bonus. We only booked a standard room which was at the top of the holel and was quite cramped. But apart from the size the standard of the room was execellent. You could upgrade to a better room if you wished.

As a person travelling by myself I felt save, the staff were very welcoming, the menus were good, there was varity. Basically I would recommend the Dunstane to other people travelling to Edinburgh. I believe there was value for money, and it was a nice walk into town each day.

Location, room facilities, staff, breakfast was excellent, bar - we were upgraded to a 4 poster bedroom. Staff seemed v busy and service sometimes was a little slow but they were extremely helpful and courteous. Parking was limited but we managed to fit in eventually. Travelling by car around Scotland but knew in Edinburgh we'd use public transport so parking and location were key.

The room was nicely decorated and very clean. This was much nicer than staying in a hotel chain. The city center is 10 minutes away when taking the buses that stop in front of the hotel. I was a bit disappointed about breakfast. Traditional English breakfast seemed nice but other dishes were average.
