really good place to stay on a budget. lovely helpful friendly owners. room more than adequate and very clean. i would recommend.

Good location with friendly staff and took the advantage to extend our stay by an extra day. Good supply to make your own breakfast. Depending room selection the views were good. As we are travelling for an extended period the inclusion of a small fridge was good for us.

Even though WiFi was incluuded the upgrading of this to allow the use within the rooms would an advantage.

Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Having a bountiful breakfast in our room at our leisure was very relaxing.

Had a lovely stay very relaxing and chilled out and I plane on going back very soon.

loved the idea of the self contained room complete with all appliances and ingredients to fix your own breakfast at your leisure.

It was excellent for my wishes. Relaxing, comfortable, very pleasant owners and I particularly liked the 'self-service' breakfast in my room. It suited my purposes exactly and I will return.

One of the best Guest houses I have ever stayed in! The room is cozy. You can find almost everything you need in the room. The staff there are friendly and the location is quite close to seaside.

Good location with free street parking outside door. Rear room has partial sea view. Breakfast is self serve in your room with jug, microwave & fridge great for self catering. Fridge stocked with food items including fresh fruit. 20 minute walk to some good pubs / restraurants. Local town but runs close by.

Bed was too short

Very charming hosts, Steve was welcoming and attentive. The room was fine, overlooking the tennis courts and a view to the sea. Breakfasts provided in the room with a fridge, kettle and microwave are a great idea and allow freedom to choose when and what you want to have. Good choice of fruit, yoghurts, pastries breads etc.

Overall it is very nice, just a few details. The bathroom needs a few shelves, hooks, and generally to think through where people can put towels and toiletries. It is a bit basic, there is a sort of shower caddy outside the shower that is the only place to put anything. And a better loo seat would be great!

Some rooms have sea view. Walking distance to eateries, waster front & town centre. Steve, the owner, is friendly.

Bathroom is small, no space for putting toiletries. Poor water drainage in shower cubicle. Mattresses on beds are too soft. No cooked Breakfast. Bread & rolls placed in storage box smell stale. Breakfast not appetizing. Weak or no wifi signal in the room.

Everything was in the room, didn't have to get up at a certain time for breakfast. It was very close to the esplanade and it had a sea view. Friendly host and hostess with lots of info about the area.

It was very very noisy till about 3am I think it was most part it was due to the staff or however coming in late, and going outside to have a smoke

Friendly, helpful, clean and comfy - everything you need in a guesthouse. Breakfast was in-room, which we enjoyed, with ample to choose from. Overall, it was a very good experience.

The provision of breakfast in the room was excellent. There was so much of it, and it really did set you up for a day outdoors. The fridge was always well-stocked and there was always something to return to at the end of the day, The room was spotlessly clean, with an excellent shower. The owners, Steve and Ellen, were helpful, informative and always there if you needed them. Steve even offered to phone around other places in Penzance when I was considering staying an extra night. The Duporth was in an ideal location. Just perfect! Thankyou!

Nothing. It was perfect! The room may have seemed a little small for some, but for the solo traveller it packed a big punch with everything it had to offer! Just great!

Steve was very friendly and helpful. There are public tennis courts right outside that we were interested in using and he offered to provide racquets and balls. The ones he brought were not usable for serious players, but he did his best. We didn't know the room was on the third floor, which was a lot of steps, but the room itself was a good layout and had a clear sea view. The beds were comfortable enough. Steve recommended an excellent fish and chips place.

I think we should have been told in advance the room was three flights up. This would have been a problem if we were older or not in the best of health. The room would have ideal but for a couple of things: he should scrub the bottom of the wire shampoo holder in the bathroom which was grungy; the tea cups provided had obviously not been washed and a spoon was also dirty; we stayed in the family room which had two beds and the twin bed had no reading light; and they need an actual terry-towel or true bath mat instead of the carpet remnant that was in the bathroom that did not dry and caused wet feet/socks at each visit after a shower - annoying! The table and chairs at the window was lovely but the food selection was stale. They should put a little more effort into the comfort, especially because the price was not cheap.

The owners were extremely helpful and were able to recommend good restaurants available locally and other attractions/facilitie they felt that I would enjoy. The double room was very comfortable which stayed in for my first night. It was very tastefully decorated. Very nice continental breakfast provided in the rooms.

My single room which I spent my other night in was a little cramped, but the facilities were more than adequate.

We liked everything about it! Good location, nice room and great hosts. We will be back!

Steve and Ellen are very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice offered all including a view to the sea. Breakfast is ready for you in the Fridge, so you can enjoy it in your pyjamas when you want it - the only thing you might be missing is eggs :-) Parking around the house was always given.

Everything was perfect.

They provide breakfast for you in your room so you can eat in at your leisure especially when you are getting up very early to catch the Scillonian!!
