Excellent helpful staff on reception. Great value for money.
Dripping shower, fan in bathroom constantly on.
Location and facilities were excellent. Countryside feel but close enough to get to the city.
All the facilities are there but rooms can do with being decorated and have their own temperature control.
A very nice location with good facilities. Although quite busy, the hotel was nice and quiet especially at night. Staff were very helpful and understanding especially when we had to check out early due to a change in circumstances.
Room and bed were clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was not very good, fried egg yolks were hard and sausage was not cooked thru'.
Lovely spacious room
smelly rooms and corridor, not maintained, paint pealing from bathroom ceiling
Wifi was a big issue for me
Quiet location near Rickmansworth and M25.Good safe parking.Room very comfortable.Good package for the price
As is often the case with the buffet help yourself type breakfast the food in the hot cabinet is lukewarm.
Staff was friendly
The swimming pool and jacuzzi. Also the bathroom in the room facilities too complicated to use
Quiet, out of the way.
The room was so small you could only open your suitcase on the bed and had to close it and store it to sleep as there wasn't room enough on the floor for an open suitcase.
After a mistake was pointed out to the reception staff about our bedrooms, we found that they were helpful and professional by ensuring our stay was exactly what we wanted. For this alone I would have recommended this hotel, however, Denham Grove is a lovely hotel with easy access and fantastic facilities. We are definitely going back.
We found that we were given the wrong style of bedrooms and not what we booked
Breakfast was good with varied choice. Bed comfortable Day staff polite.
No water in the room. Came in late and no all night receptionist only security who couldn't answer questions. Check out was 11 and cleaner was knocking on the door at 10 to clean the room. Only 1 bath towel provided for 2 people.
Staff helpful NIce bathroom and design
No air con- first room full of bugs including a grasshopper. Was moved to nicer room but nets dirty old, rusty window frames. Needs upgrade
Breakfast. The flowers in the bar. The grounds.
The mirror in our room was broken off the wall and just left to stand (2 meters high- this could fall on someone or child). The latches on window broken. General tired feel to decor. The barman was just hopeless, charmless and unfriendly. Bit of eye contact would be nice.
Staff are very friendly, food delicious and great value. Room was clean and comfortable, facilities top class will definitely be staying again and looking at other de vere venues
There wasn't anything to complain about
location, food excellent.
booking on line hotel not able to find booking reference which may have led to us not having a room if the hotel had been fully booked. the duvet cover was very rough cotton.
Location, free coffees, great outdoors
First room washing ground floor and window didnt lock second room was better but bedding too thick for summer and changing rooms for pool smell was horrible
We asked for a room with a walk-in shower which they were able to give us & it was such a comfortable room.
We were in a twin room for 2 people but there were only 1 set of towels!
Value for money, but possibly a false economy.
The room was so small, you could only open your suitcase on the bed and had to close it up before bed.
We like this hotel, the pool is excellent and the food is good. The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds. Lovely grounds, ideal for playing in with grandchildren
There was a wedding party and the noise till 3 am with slamming doors etc didn't help us to enjoy a decent night sleep. Wedding guests should be put in a separate wing, there are enough rooms to delegate for private functions.
Price - good food - location in quiet countryside but handy for communications including London visits. Friendly staff and plentiful car parking
First night in Room 92. Noisy pump running for 10 seconds at intervals of less than a minute. Avoid this room at all costs! We are sure this problem was known or ought to have been known. Urgent action required1
Cleanliness of bed room
Various things not working
Breakfast very good. Dining room staff good
No lift to first floor Room tired and in need of refurb sink broken and dirty.minimal hotel infoavailable in room. £119.00 room/night very expensive for quality of accomadation.
arrived at 8.30am from the airport and by 11 they had the rooms ready for us to use having just flown in to heathrow. nice walk in the garden.
the evening meal in the restaurant was not served very well. I felt food was` thrown `on the plate.
Meals (both evening meal and breakfast) were excellent and gave very good value for money. All the staff I met (including a cleaning lady) were friendly, helpful and considerate.
Room was slightly shabby, the TV had been replaced with a smaller one at some time, leaving marks on the wall which had not been made good. The furniture had grubby armrests. The bathroom was fitted for disabled use (which was not a problem in itself) but the equipment (shower seat etc) had not been descaled for some time. As there were no security chains on the windows I could not sleep with an open window (room was on ground floor). Window catches and the hook for the blind needed maintenance. The wall behind the radiator showed some sign of damp (the paint had bubbled) and the corridor ceiling outside my room showed severe signs of water ingress. There were no hooks in the bathroom, so nothing could be hung up (eg sponge bad or dressing gown) and there was no bedside control of the lights (a feature normally found in hotels - unless you count the lead switch for the standard lamp beside the bed!). As I was only booked for one night, it was ok as far as it went, but I would have been disappointed had I been booked for a longer stay and would, in those circumstances, asked for a change of room.
