Friendly staff, very comfortable bed. Good view of the river
Restaurant closed for refurbishment and bar snack option poor. Having to pay for wifi - first time for a very long time Luke-warm 'hot' breakfast
every thing we will be back soon /thank you /
good location, comfortable room
The staff were excellent & the location was perfect. Liked the welcome drink on arrival, that was a nice touch.
I had three rooms booked-one of the rooms heating did not work which was a little disappointing as my elderly mother was allocated that room. The staff were very nice about it & offered to move her but we were in the annexe block & she wanted to remain close to her family as we were there for a celebration. A give away on arrival should have been the four fan heaters positioned in the room. A bit disappointing that the hotel were probably aware of the problem but still allocated the room! Having said that everything else was very good & we enjoyed our stay.
The location. The staff were all so friendly. We had an upgrade on arrival, so that was a lovely surprise. The room was beautiful, comfy king size bed and so peaceful.
Nothing to dislike
Everything perfect place for a weekend away just over the road from gorgeous Durham town.leisure facilities perfect everywhere is lovely and clean and the breakfast is good too there's nothing bad to say this is our 5 th time we have been as a couple and with the kids and have enjoyed every time
Just everything /
Location is good and the receptionist is really nice
Everything is so old, no central heating, no mineral water (had to ask the reception), only two connector in room,
Excellent Location, very comfortable room, very nice staff
Breakfast was just OK, barely warm
Tasteful Christmas decorations in December 2014. Excellent breakfast.
This is my second visit to the hotel and my return visit was as enjoyable as my first visit and I am looking forward to my next visit !!
Location Leisure facilities
The bathroom needed attention
The staff were fantastic
WiFi situation was confusing. It was free for the room but this wasn't highlighted and then was charged to the bill and then taken off. This makes you feel uncertain about using it. If its free then have a sign in the room.
Hotel was lovely and clean, stayed in a suit so was nicer than your average room. Spa facilities were great, really clean and not too busy considering we went on a Sunday. We told them it was our first anniversary and received a free bottle of Chardonnay and a note wishing us a happy anniversary.
Although the room was gorgeous and super comfortable, there seemed to be a problem with the heating, our room was so hot, we tried turning it off but no luck. Also, I asked if we could receive a bottle of champagne upon arrival, obviously expecting to pay, they corresponded and said they would provide this for us for me to be waiting for it to suprise my boyfriend for us not to recieve it? Other than this a lovely stay
Liked the room and location
Cooked breakfast not very hot
It is a great hotel , good room with a massive bed
Lack of bar staff. There were times when there was nobody serving and people waiting
Location to town centre
The double glazed windows were pathetic, the wind and traffic noise just came through all night. When checking out the the young lad on the desk just laughed and said yeah they are all like that in that part of the Hotel. Pathetic
The hotel is lovely -our room was big and very comfortable and clean -the staff were excellent ,very helpful and very cheerful -the breaskfast was lovely too-all shops are close by and some sightseeing too -so left car at hotel !
The one friendly girl at breakfast
Rooms in need of refurbishing. Broken toilet, bad lighting. Bar bright lacking any atmosphere. No assistance with baggage and a long walk and two elevators to room! Extra for parking overnight.
We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff and being Christmas we were offered a glass of mulled wine and mince pie for free, which was very welcome after our long journey. The staff were very helpful with finding me a phone charger as I had left mine at home. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The food was nice. Overall would definitely stay again if I was visiting the area.
The only criticism I have, and this is a personal one, is that I think the restaurant could be 'warmer; in terms of lighting and how tables are laid out in the room. Wasn't that inviting.
Location is good and staff well trained and very helpful overall
delux room poor value..one window looking onto a brick wall, room cold blankets and heater supplied.Bathroom entirely unheated and very cold and unwelcoming. When I questioned why the bathroom did not even have a heated towel rail the answer was "some rooms do some rooms don't" delux obviously don't.
Staff really helpful and polite, excellent location
Location was perfect
Room was a bit too warm and stuffy - had to open a window. Bathroom was due a refurbishment but nothing too bad.
