Clean Room Friendly Staff Spa Facilities Pool Treatment Availability
Tired Decor in Spa Changing Rooms Lack of Lift with 3rd Floor Room
very good breakfast and room size was good
outside space - gardens/lawns not very well kept and in desperate need of new outside furniture, sun loungers have seen better days. Swimming pool needs cleaning at bottom, to hot to use gym very small no air con and a glass roof.
On entering the hotel the public toilet was unclean the sink was broken (longstanding) Shower curtain was not clean and overhung the tray so flooded the shower room lift was out of order (long term)Food not up to a good standard.Breakfast (all items) were cold.bad value for money.
executive room on the ground floor very spacious, large modern bathroom with a large patio overlooking the gardens and pool ( room 203 ) staff very helpful. food in the restaurant very nice.
only a sheet and brown blanket over the bed which let the décor down. A nice eiderdown or throw would have made the room perfect. the breakfast was very nice but would have been even better had it been hot.
liked the room very spacious and clean only downside was the Jacuzzi bath was out of order but not a problem breakfast good communial areas clean
lift broken so it would be a problem for older couples but we were ok lots of stairs to climb
Lift out of order all week
Few available car park spaces when returning end of day. Slow replenishment of breakfast items and hot food went cold quickly. Missed early wake up calls.
food was excellent room was nice and spacious hotel comfortable with friendly staff.
would have to be very picky to say anything against the hotel that we disliked.
When you do not pay top price for a room, you do not get top quality. Greeting was cold. Listening to the person next to me being booked in and my experience they were totally different. Room was on third floor, lift was not working ( apparently this happens quite often) but they did offer to carry bags. Still 56 steps later you are on your floor. If you have difficulty with stairs be warned. As it was our anniversary our daughter ordered some champagne on our arrival which we did not know about. We went out at about 18:15 and met one of the staff at the bottom of the stairs carrying a tray with an ice bucket, bottle and glasses and joked with him that we hoped he wasn't going to the top floor, no reply apart from the stern face. On our return to our room at 23:30 there we found the tray, bucket of cold water, bottle and glasses. Breakfast next morning was ok, although the only food that was hot was if it had just been placed in the serving dish. Overall not a pleasant experience.
It wasn't too far from the beach
The bed was old, we kept on rolling down into the middle Flies in the room Shower was complicated and awful
The location was good, parking was also sufficient
Bed was not really comfortable, elevator was not working and the hotel did not had any adaptor for international plugs. Shower was really poor.
Everything was great couldn't knock it!! Thanks
Bean were abit hard other than that was really good!!
The facilities was lovely, lots of options. Lots to enjoy without going to the beach yet! The staffs were fairly polite
The shower control was bad and telephone for room service wasn't fixed on request
Food amazing, staff very helpful and friendly
Thought some of the guest areas at times were a grubby
swimming pool ,spa and friendly helpful staff.
very clean and well maintained throughout. Staff friendly although reception a bit disorganized. Breakfast varied and well cooked although stock of English Breakfast tea not maintained.
Wi-Fi completely inadequate. Dinner disappointing eg. Tinned fruit in Knickerbocker Glory. At breakfast, tea in a flask not a great idea.
Really helpful reception staff and housekeeping! Celebrating friends 70th birthday - we we're really well looked after!
Bar staff not very cheerful!
Good facilities with pool and lounge area. Friendly staff and great portions on the food.
The bed was an amazing size The breakfast was lovely. The dinner was lovely there too.
I wish that we had been told before that the jacuzzi was broken. Our window was broken in our room.. as was the cieling fan. We had no bath robes or slippers.
Our stay was very enjoyable. The rooms are of a good standard. Cleanliness is too a good standard. Staff are friendly and helpful. The spa area is good the showers could do with a spruce and the main pool is good although used for swimming lessons. The food was good we ate from the brasserie and light bites menu it's typical pub fayre but well presented and with choice. Breakfast was good although never replenished after 8 45. So pastries were always an enigma as we never got to try them! The bar area was comfy enough and staff attentive. I would recommend this holiday to others who want a relaxing break near to the town.
Unfortunately the lift was out of order during our stay which made the 3 flights of stairs a trudge especially as the final flight are only half steps. Whilst staff assisted with luggage the ups and downs to the room were hard work. Priority is given to coach guests at dinner time. Lots of swimming lessons in the pool during the day so really only half the pool to swim in.
The breakfast was very good
The ribs we had wasn't cooked and cold. There was no apology they said we will get you something else. This was a few days away for our anniversary. This stay was disapointing
Appalling breakfast - most parts of breakfast either not available or stale. Lift broken - made it difficult to get to room with bad leg. Room over kitchen so after 6am difficult to sleep.
The hotel cleanliness, staff were friendly and very helpful. Spa, Gym, and treatments of a high standard. Comfy bed with remote controlled fan/light in ceiling.
The room doors were quite heavy and made a noise if not shut carefully. Hence neighbouring rooms did disturb our sleep.
The spa facilities are great Breakfast is lovely staff were really nice
Major mould issues around the bath tub. Elevator not working again and we were on the top floor Basic cosmetics in need of attention. Would not take much to sort out but extreemly annoying.
The staff were very helpful. Especially Chloe who did her best to sort out problems and compensate.
Our rooms (2) were at opposite ends of the hotel. We'd been 'upgraded' to suites so we went with it. Goodness knows what our original room would have been like. Bad crack on the ceiling with stains from some sort of leak. A plaster holding my shower head together and an old biscuit tub catching drips outside my daughters room. Their bathroom sliding door would fall out rather than slide! The rooms were generally shabby (& not in a chic way!!) The spa (our reason for booking) had a strange smell and the steam room wasn't working. Our meal was a shambles. I've never complained about food before and felt awful saying something but; my starter didn't have half the ingredients shown on the menu and was pathetically small; pasta pomadoro had no sauce at all and was cold; the mains had obviously been kept 'warm' as the rocket garnish was completely wilted and the 'lump' of parmasan had congealed to form rubber; the wrong sideorder was served and not replaced until after we had eaten. The smoked salmon pasta had what looked like tinned salmon in it instead. I felt for the waitresses as they were so embarrassed. It wasn't their fault but did their best to make amends. During our stay (1 night) we heard of 4 guests insisting on changing their room. The hotel is generally in desperate need of an overhaul. The paintwork is generally scruffy inside and out. Blinds broken and mismatch carpets in the stairwells. We would have been better booking a hotel we knew with a lower rating but chose to 'treat' ourselves. Certainly won't be going back.
