This historic Victorian townhouse hotel re-opened in August 2008 after an extensive refurbishment of all of the public areas, the conference facilities and many of the rooms.

The Durley Dean Hotel is benefiting from a GBP 4.2 million refurbishment, the first stage of which has now been completed.70 of the hotel's 117 en suite rooms have been fully refurbished to a very high standard and now feature stylish contemporary design and a warm atmosphere. The remaining rooms have been refreshed with new fabrics, carpets and warm colours. All of the rooms feature all the modern comforts and facilities you need in a relaxing base, including LCD flat-screen TVs with Freeview digital channels.

Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout.

The hotel also has a great location, close to the town centre, Bournemouth’s business district and the award-winning beach, which boasts 7 miles (11 km) of golden sands.

The remaining 47 bedrooms have also been refreshed with new fabrics, carpets and warm colours along with the facilities of the fully refurbished bedrooms. These remaining 47 bedrooms will be fully refurbished at a later stage.

Beds were very comfortable, staff extremely friendly.

Room was in the basement, so very dark. Very hot at night, unable to open one of the windows. Decoration was dated, and the bathroom had a number of issues such as a broken shower head and no mirror.

Helpful staff, when there was a problem with the booked room ie twin allocated but double booked on web, we were upgraded immediately to a double suite room. Food and facilities also excellent.

The bed was comfortable, the tele was good nice to have LCD with freeview, the breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty of selection

We where disappointed with the room size it was extremely small just enough room each side to get in and out of bed ! only to find a room down the corridor for the same price was twice the size with plenty of room to move about, not feel cramped,this was as far as i am concerned a single room with a double bed in it. I dont know how you justify charging the same money for two different size rooms

warm welcome,and clean room

Bathroom was a bit cramped and towel holder over bath was in a dangerous place,ok for shower but if you were standing up after bath potential of banging your head.

A comfortable and clean hotel who although clearly very busy seemed to be happy to help at all times

We visited on a very busy weekend and had to wait to check in, staff were obvioulsy under a lot of pressure but still remained professional. More staff during a time when the hotel was obviously full would have alleviated alot of the problems.

The parking is very very very bad, I have a disabled husband in a wheelchair and couldnt park in carpark. should be more than 2 disabled parking spots.

Quiet hotel considering the busy area... near to walks along the beach.

No way near enough parking, took a long time to find a space as its first come first serve... there is a pay and display across the road but wasn't keen on leaving the car there overnight. Room was ok but wasn't renovated yet and the bathroom door didn't shut properly. Quite a hill to walk down to the bars and shops which wasn't ideal in high heels so had to get a taxi for the evening out.
