welcome by receptionist
Room was very small Tables very close together
The hotel had everything we needed, our rooms were spacious and well equipped. The towels were big and fluffy and plentiful, the location was excellent too. I would definitely visit again.
Could do with a Jacuzzi as would have been nice to languish in with friends. No biscuits with tea/coffee tray!
Friendly staff. Room was very clean. Self service buffet breakfast was good. Great value for money though and would stay again.
Pool was a bit on the cold side. Room was a bit small and terribly hot, even in November with the heating off and windows open, (I suspect that heating pipes ran under the floor of the room)
Pool Staff Location Cost
Poor room location for pushchair access, 3 sets of stairs even with using the lift Uncomfortable bed Nosy water pipes through the walls next to the bed throughout the night Aged room decor
Location, breakfast, recreational facilities
The lighting in some areas e,g lounge and bedroom was not bright enough
The room was clean and comfertable. The staff very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast fresh and good selection. Overall very good value for money.
Car parking is very restricted but there are car parks nearby which charge a pound for overnight. This was a quiet time do not know what it would be like at the height of the season..
staff and facilities were excellent. we had a fantastic stay and we were treated marvellously by all the staff. we would definately recommend in the future.
The bar was good and felt welcome,
The room was situated by the busy entrance door to many hotel rooms and could hear everyone walking past via squeaking floor boards. Heavy merchanary noise related to the hotels elevator so I feel 60 pound was a ripoff considering last visit was a travel loge and got a peaceful sleep! For just 40 pounds
breakfast good but expensive location pool
towels for 2 but 3 people paid for room too warm unable to open windows properly could not lock slightly open window at night windowsills very dirty shower difficult to turn off tesco amaretto sold in bar £3.60 a glass only £4.99 a bottle to buy !!!!! attended party at hotel only 2 bar staff approx 60 guests plus residents !!!
Room was ideal and unlike many hotels the wifi reception was perfect.
Although there was tea making facilities in the room , pity only enough milk for one cup each.
Cleanliness Rooms well equipped Lovely pool, changing rooms etc Comfy beds Great location for BIC, shops and beach.
Squeaky floorboards, seem very loud at night.
Hotel in a good location with easy access to the beach and town centre Staff were attentive and polite willing to help with a problem and always with a smile. Rooms clean, with comfortable beds Our room was at the back of the hotel and was really quiet Value for money hotel and I will return
Parking is a problem as car park is first come first served but you are made aware of this when booking. There is a good carpark accross road to use. Bar needed more seating but they are re vamping at the moment
Good location good state of repair Staff helpful good breakfast
no available parking had to pay for pay and display car park Quality was like vinegar and seating bar uncomfortable
Quiet, but very good breakfast, didnt have dinner so can't review,
Car parking a nightmare if not booked in earlier enough to get parking space, have to use ncp down road, which is not secure parking and u have to pay
We stayed with our 2 young children one aged 4 and the other aged 1. Our room was beautiful and spacious, so plenty of room for the kids to roam free and play. The staff were very friendly and accommodating of our needs and requests. Very close to the beach not a far walk to the shops and town either.
Windows needed dusting.
Very friendly staff on front desk that helped with parking and they called me after reservation made. Breakfast very good
Bathroom very small covered in cobwebs, mould and dust and cobwebs and dirt all over the windows in main bedroom not cleaned properly in years !
I loved everything about this hotel nice staff, good location 5mins walk from beach and 10min walk from town lovely hotel
The only thing we enjoyed whilst there was the swimming pool.
The staff where rude and unhelpful. Parking was so bad we had to pay for parking over the road which we where unaware of and with a three year old crossing a busy road with all our suitcases was a nightmare. The sheets had a few Staines on. Our double bed was two singles pushed together and very uncomfortable.
Definately worth the money, would stay again
Pool needs a deep clean, lots of dirt In water, room needs freshening up and a good old clean... Bath had dirt and a hole in, For the price we paid I would say it was not value for money at tall. Defo won't reccomend or go back due to a disappointing stay!
Although the hotel itself is located in a good area the free car park as advertised wasn't really that accommodating for the number of rooms they have. There is never enough parking for hotels in Bournemouth so when we saw advertised this hotel had a car park, although it was a little more expensive than what we wanted to pay. We arrived to a packed car park, the streets were full, we spent over an hour driving round looking for parking spaces. I went into the hotel for some help and the lady behind the counter advised there was a pay & display down the road. We drove to the suggested car park, it was a very long walk down hill! In the end we drove back and got a space in the street. It should really be made more clear when booking.
We stayed two nights at the Durley Dean. We arrived about 9pm and had to wait a short while to be seen by somebody. The hotel is in a nice location and is within walking distance of the beach, some shops and also some bars. The shower in our room was amazing, the bath clean and the rest of the room was clean also. The late check out of 11am was nice as we were not in a rush to go anywhere. I would consider staying here again for a little less money.
The Wifi was not accessible from the room we were staying in at all. As mentioned in many reviews, the hotel is looking a little dated with some damp patches in the corner of our room - the wallpaper in most of the hotel has also seen much better days. I feel the hotel is asking a bit too much per nigth for what they have to offer. I would stay here again perhaps for a little less money - £80 a night is a lot for this basic hotel I feel.
Big room, breakfast and spa.
Staff was not sure about parking arrangements.
bed was comfortable breakfast was good bar/lounge area was nice
paint work was grubby bathroom need some attention hall/stairwell need attention
The bed was comfy, Free car park and the beach is a stone throws away.
The window in our room was broken and had been screwed together but didn't shut so we got to stay up till 11 listening to the party on the ground floor (we was on the 3rd) This is a hotel for hen and stag parties not somewhere to spend your first wedding anniversary. We tried to phone reception to inform them of the broken window but they never answered the phone, We tried to order room service but they never answered the phone. The glasses in our bathroom where covered in dust which suggests they never change them. When we checked out they didnt ask us how our stay with im not sure they even cared.
