Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It features 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.

We loved the hotel atmosphere, the huge bed & the rooms
The parking! Couldn't park anywhere near the hotel.
Every member of staff we spoke to was extremely friendly and polite, the room was very good for the price and the hotel within a short walking distance to town. Lovely swimming pool and the gym was pretty good too. I'd recommend it. It's being renovated so it's a work in progress, but definitely good for the money.
my room was spacious and clean and bright, staff always smiling, great price.
Breakfast was good and plentiful.
Swimming pool rather small and not good for swimming. Sauna however very good.
We wanted a night away and a pool for our four year old daughter to play in. We got an absolute bargain room rate of £40. Really nice hotel and a short walk to some nearby restaurants.
Only down side was that our room was next to the lift shaft. Was a little noisy at times.
Friendliness of the staff and the leisure facilities. Great location.
The room was lovely and clean. The room was nice and warm. Staff are helpful
The door had a big gap at the bottom so the hall light shone in all night. Would rather had a shower cubicle as nearly slipped stepping out of the bath
Leisure facilities very good. Staff great. Good location.
Having to walk through smokers at entrance. I think they should be encouraged to go to side or rear of building.
a great time couldn't fault a thing from start to finish...will def be going back for another w/e break...keep me posted on deals...
The size of the room, comfort and friendliness off staff
Peace and quiet. location.
We had a lovely interconnected room with bunk beds , 2 bathrooms and a nice big double bedroom. Excellent location for the beach
Corridor was a little noisy when people walked past but not a big problem
The hotel as we walked in was clean and looked good, the room we stayed in wasn't very clean, bathroom not to good, there were marks all over the wall it can do with a paint and refurb
The part of the hotel that we stayed in wasn't very clean, the room wasn't very good, marks all over walls and bathroom not very clean
Size and comfort of the room was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Only very minor things. Floors were very squeaky. Swimming pool was ok but the kink in it made it impossible for two people to pass. Although we managed to park on the street outside the hotel, at peak times it may be difficult to park close.
The hotel was in a lovely location. Warm on arrival and the staff were very welcoming. We had an upgrade on both the rooms we booked. We were extremely happy with this.
There was a very long wait for our meals in the restaurant on Friday evening. And payment for said meal was confusing. I was marched around the hotel to make my payment like I'd tried to do a runner. I was staying two nights, This could have been done more discretely. The wine I ordered was not what I received. Having been assured I would be charged the same as the one I wanted. The bill did not reflect this.
Great helpful staff got me a double room with bath for Single Occ Great Sauna Steam Room.Swimm Pool All to Myself as Hotel was quiet 2 Mins.to Beach
We had a Fantastic Week-end everything about it was excellent The staff were very help-ful & pleasant
We have stayed at the Durley Dean many times at various times of the year.We are always happy to return as the hotel has retained old fashioned hotel traditions while at the same time is up to date with contemporary decor,wi fi and excellent menu's to choose from.We feel very much at home here and look forward to our next visit.
There really isn't much we dont like. The only small gripe is that thicker toast at breakfast would be nice!
staff were excellent
as the pool is not really big enough to exercise swim it should warmer
Loved our stay Laura on reception is one of the best staff you could ever have on front desk at any hotel she made us feel welcome and had a lovely time ,the swimming pool and sauna and steam was amazing had the whole facilities to our self
There was nothing I didn't like the place it was well equip for our stay the only thing I didn't like was when we had to come home
Too many coach parties. Catered for older people hence the temperature was unbearably hot. Felt rushed when eating what was a very poor meal for the money.
The location was excellent, just a 5 min walk to the lovely sandy beach and Harvester restraunt (very handy for children!). Hotel was all we needed, nice pool and facilities!
Temperature in the pool could have been warmer. Wifi reception was very intermittent/poor.
Lovely period building, comfortable bed and facilties
Very hollow walls, could hear other guests and staff members talking and walking around, even early morning
Easy walk to the beach, clean rooms and even the compact room is sufficient for a short stay. Good facilities with the pool.
The cleaners tried to get into our room and woke us up at 8am then again at 9am even though we were checking out and not required to check out until 11am. It would be helpful if the cleaners did not access the rooms being checked out until after 11am.
