Warm welcome after a long wet and windy drive, Spacious 4 poster room with excellent do-it-yourself breakfast arrangements so it was very private. I would recommend it to family and friends and will probably stay again if visiting family a few miles away.

Lovely staffed and in pleasant surroundings, liked the continental style of breakfast which was brought to just outside the room, as close to room service as you can get.

We booked a double room at the lodge. Just before our arrival at 5.00 pm my daughter said she would also like to stay overnight, after telephoning the Lodge to check availability we were delighted to hear there was a room available. We had a very comfortable overnight stay in lovely clean rooms. Our two dogs were also welcomed. The continental breakfast was perfect. The location was perfect for countryside and coastal visits. We look foreward to booking a longer stay in the near future. Thank you

A delightful property, in a pretty village location, which made the perfect base for exploring the Thanet area. We parked the car, and let the train take the strain! It's just five minutes stroll through the village, to the station, which was delightful in itself. Minster village has a variety of good restaurants. We enjoyed a meal at Archies and Gozzi. We stayed in a twin roon at Durlock Lodge, which we found to be very comfortable, and enjoyed the "help yourself style" continental breakfast in the comfort of our own room. The croissants deserve a special mention! Our hosts were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We would definately return for another week, or maybe even two!

It was only on arrival at the bed and breakfast accomodation that we discovered that we had to make our own breakfast from supplies that were left in (clean and tidy) location on the landing near the bedrooms. The very limited choice of cold food that was available was not to our liking. The only warm or prepared food available was via the kettle in our bedroom, which we could use to make our own tea/coffee.On top of this we had to pay yhe caount in advance " as it was thought we would find this more convenient".

£90 for the room I had was poor value, it lacked comfort. The shower was very poor and the bed wasn't very comfortable - these are basics. Carpets in bathrooms is a no no for me and in general the carpets weren't very clean. The help yourself continental breakfast, which you are expected to eat in your room, was also a low point. No hot breakfast having paid £90 wasn't good value for money. Ultimately I don't blame them for increasing their prices when the Open Golf was on but a sense of value for money needs to be retained.

This is a very nice bed and breakfast: quiet, comfortable, easy, pleasant surroundings, nice-sized room, private breakfast in the room. You can hear or see the milkman delivering the milk in the street, and hear or see horse-riders going by. It is a nice old house in a lovely village and only a shortish drive to the beach (10 minutes?). For visitors looking for quiet and comfort away from noise and fuss, this is it. It is very pleasant. The breakfast idea of having an oven and fridge outside the bedroom so that one helped oneself to warm croissants each morning was very nice. It is nice to be able to have breakfast in one's own room and away from everyone else, but it is a shame that breakfast is entirely sweet, with jams etc. rather than having any meat or savoury elements. As it was a summer visit, I put on a brand new pair of sandals and slipped over as soon as my foot touched the wooden stairs because the sandals had no grip. This seems to me hazardous and I think the owners should warn about the slippery stairs as there is no carpet or grip to prevent slipping. I was also a bit taken aback that the owner did emerge to see what had happened but failed to make the expected solicitous noises, in fact withdrawing without saying anything at all. The bathroom facilities exhibited the usual English awkwardness, but this would surprise only international visitors. Otherwise the bathrooms were at least a nice size.

we were very impressed with Durlock Lodge and would heartily recommend it to anyone wanting a very peaceful location, clean accomodation and friendly and helpful hosts. Good pubs offering reasonably priced food within walking distance and good and regular train service into Canterbury, which we greatly enjoyed. Plenty of seaside resorts on the doorstep as well! All in all, very good.

A good size room and quiet location, easy parking for the car and one could come and go from the room as one pleased. This suited us as we had no use for any additional services as we wanted a base to go out and explore this part of Kent. We have no complaints.

Very convenient area for visiting interesting laces in Kent. We went to Sandwich, very nice medieval town on the River Stour, Ramsgate - lovely harbour, and on into Canterbury where we had a very interesting visit. Minster is a nice village and it was nice to be able to walk to a restaurant have a drink and not have to think about driving.
