Some members of staff were rude, unhelpful and not really interested in their jobs.Booking.com clients beware, the reception staff will ask Booking.com guests to settle the account for accomodation on arrival,I have stayed at many hotels reserved through the Booking.com website and this was a first.I could not believe this and the manner this was conveyed to me by the lady at reception at the time.I did alert the hotel general manager to my complaints on departure and he was polite, courteous and did listen to the issues I raised.

The business mans club atmosphere was exactly as we expected. The location was perfect as we were attending a function at the Wallace Collection during the evening of check in. Decoration was functional and pleasing to the eye and the serving staff in all capacities were pleasant and helpful. We only ate Breakfast but it was well prepared and presented and did not have one of those abominal buffets that we are told is for the benefit of the customer, so well done for that. The room was very small for two and the bathroom was tired, we could not get the television to work in spite of complaining (not a big issue) The breakfast Maitre D was not the most accommadating individual ( a dutchman I believe. His idea of service was to look at you on entering the restaurant and very reluctant to come forward and show one to a table. Thereafter as we were seated oposite the kitchen entrance we were party to numerous verabl attacks on the staff as to there performance and how they should all be replaced!!!! in my opinion the staff new there roles well and executed them professionaly. To lambast staff in front of guests lack professionalisim and somewhat remaniescent of Faulty Towers

Location was excellent. Appearance was very pleasing as it is covered in greenery which is precious in central London. Bar is very comfortable. Paying Internet (10 GBP per 24 hours) - who still does that??? Not very well sound proofed - tv from next door clearly audible when it was obvious it wasn't on abnomally loud.

I love Durrants Hotel - I think it is a bit quirky which appeals to me. They have kept the original features which I prefer to the blandness of the hotel chains. The rooms are a blend of modern bathrooms, large comfortable beds and old furniture with large sash windows. Bathrooms include the extras and cater for business women too including cotton woold, cotton buds, good hairdryers, good mirror etc. but lack a towelling robe which is disappointing. The location is great - so many good restaurants, pubs, coffee bars and the fromagerie nearby as well as good underground links and regular taxis. My only disappointment was being served muesli instead of granola and being told that it was in fact granola by the waitress. Internet access can be a bit intermittent but generally works.

Location is perfect, hotel is very nice and cosy, I liked especially the bar, the lounge,... Staff is very pleasant except for reception people who seem to be bothered anytime you come to them. It is a pleasant and convenient place to stay The overall impression could be much better if you do not take into account the extremely poor sound isolation. Beside the noise of the street, small but busy (if you go, ask for no room on the street), you will feel spending evening and night with your neighbors, hear their conversations, walk... It is very sad, as other than that the hotel is very good, but if you are sensitive to noise or want to relax, this is not the place to stay. What you pay is very the minimum, all the rest (breakfast, wi-fi,... Is quite serious money).

The old fashioned attention to service and detail. The rooms wer beautifully presented as were all other areas of the hotel. It is close to all rail links and shopping and a wide range of dining out experiences are just a walk away. We will deffinately stay again. Rooms were a little too hot.

Location was excellent & the staff were so much friendly. And the hotel was so safe. We booked two rooms within the same rate , luckily me & my sister got a fair room size ,but we were shocked when we same our parents room was a size of a cane box , no space to move .So it was unfair that they have same rate.

I felt as if I was a guest in a private country house. The hotel is amazingly 'English' in every way .... so much nicer than a Hotel 'chain'!!! The service was personal but not in the slightest intrusive. I chose to stay in the Hotel to be close to my 90 year old mother, who was undergoing an operation for bowel cancer at Sister Agnes Hospital. How wonderful it was to return to the Hotel after a stressful day, to a welcoming smile from the Concierge/Porter, a comfortable room and a hot meal from Room Service. Thank you, Durrants, for helping me keep my sanity. Although British to the core, I presently live in Australia and will be reccommending your Hotel to all my friends! And depend on it ... I will be back!!!

The location, the decoration, the cleanliness. No tea/coffee facilities in the room for a 4 stars hotel! Breakfast and food very expensive. Room was small and really hot. Room not ready at check-in time.

Good traditional English style with pleasant and helpful staff. Hotel is in an excellent location with nice ambience. No free internet. All hotels should offer free internet. It is annoying to pay 10 quid per day.
