Owner was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

A bath in the en suite would have been nice but not a big issue.

Very welcoming with comfortable room and excellent breakfast. On bus route from airport and bus stop outside with constant bus service to city centre just a few minutes away. Good location for city break.

Very friendly proprietors and staff. Excellent breakfasts. Comfortable room and good to have bottled water provided each day in addition to the coffee/ biscuits. Easy access to the city and to Murrayfield.

En-suite was cold

Murdo and Kay were extremely friendly and helpful with tips on were to go and eat and visit. The guest house was very clean and the breakfast to die for. Not forgetting Braken the very friendly bulldog which greets you and is there to see you off. Quite simply 5 star in a guest house.

Is good

The room was great the price was better than any other b&b in the area the food was fantastic... Best black pudding I have ever tasted.. Very friendly very helpfull great people that u can have a laugh with right from the start... Brackan the bull dog was friendly and fun to play ball with... We will be visiting again next year and would recommend it to anyone... Had a great weekend many thanks Adam and Hayley..

I loved the friendly welcome we received from the family who run the hotel and the fact that nothing was a problem, they ordered us a taxi into the city, gave us a knock in the morning for breakfast, allowed us to leave the car parked at their home on our leaving day to allow us to go back into the city on the bus. We will definately use the Duthes lodge in the future.

This is an excellent place to stay in Edinburgh, very friendly owner, beautiful house, perfect location and the most amazing cooked Scottish breakfast. Hope to go back again soon and would definitely recommend this to others.

Clean comfartable rooms,close to edinburgh centre, pleasant hosts

Very friendly welcome and our hosts made our stay a very plesant one.

We were staying because we had tickets for the Scotland New Zeland rugby game. We were able to park and walk to the staduim for free. Only draw back was when we got out after the game the roads were closed therefore we couldnt leave for an hour.

The Duthus Lodge was magnificent and we are delighted to have stayed there during our visit in Edinburgh. We received a friendly welcome from Murdo and our bedroom was splendid, clean, warm and pleasant smell. The toilet and shower again clean and the right size for us and had all fixtures and fittings. It was our first time to visiting Scotland Edinburgh and Dutus Lodge made our visit so enjoyable by showing us places to visit, directions and Bus routes. The Breakfast was delicious and mouth-watering I could not contain my excitement I had to ask how the Mushroom was done and “I tell you what! I got an answer.” Thanks Kay. Having stayed in a lot of hotels around the world, I must say Duthus Lodge is one of my best hotels / lodges I have stayed in and visitors should respect it as we can’t wait to come back next year for our 2nd wedding Anniversary.

Murdo and Kay were so welcoming, upgraded our room and even gave us a lift into town. Wonderful hosts and great breakfast - will definitely be back for next trip to Edinburgh.

The location is ideal for access to the city centre

Everything. The hotel was cosy and clean and we were very welcomed by the owner of the hotel.

great breakfast,spotlessly clean room. close to the Water of Leith (for riverside walks)- once you know the shortcut from the hotel-this also allows access to the gallery of modern art in about 10 minutes on foot

The owners were lovely, the rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious! I really enjoyed staying at Duthus Lodge because it was cozy and made me feel at home. I felt like I was visiting relatives, not staying at a hotel. It was a great place near downtown, free breakfast, and free parking. You can walk downtown, but it's so easy to hop on the bus if you don't feel like walking. The bus stop is right outside. I would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it to others.

Period property with character. Clean rooms, friendly Landlord and lovely food and comfortable bed. Within walking distance to city attractions.

The house itself is old and interesting. Lobby and area for the breakfast are very nice. The family is very nice and helpful. The room is quite big with high ceilings, bed is comfortable. 20 min walking distance to the city center.

Bathroom is very small, but actually enough for couple of nights.

Excellent guest house run by lovely host & hostess. Room was very large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent well presented good quality cereals and hot food. All in all a very enjoyable would recommend to friends and family and hope to return in the future.

Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating by allowing us to check in early and park our car in their driveway. Room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the garden.
