The staff were all very friendly & helpful, we stayed on valentines day night & some little extras, (chocolates & red roses) made a lovely surprise.
This was not major but when we stayed some renovation work was taking place, however we did understand that the owner was really making an effort to improve the hotel.
Relaxed, everything that we needed
It is convenient and just what I needed at the time. Obviously there was much work being done but I was given a discount and it didn't inconvenience me at the time. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I understand that some of the building work was to install down lighters but in a Victorian property I think this is a mistake!
friendliness of staff (manager, Paul). Excellent hose keeping.
stair doors could use softer reurns
The bed was very comfortable and the en-suite well equipped
The public areas were literally a building site, with exposed wires and floorboards, tools and dust. I understand that work had taken longer than expected but it was not value for money in the state it was in. The evening menu was very limited, the manager seemed to be the barman and the chef. I only saw one other member of staff during my stay.
Parking wasnt great was a bit limited, felt the man couldn’t be bothered to make the Breakfast.
Building works going on downstairs so felt a bit like staying in a builder's yard!! This is only temp. and the service was as good as usual and the bedroom was fine!
Friendly staff in a clean and comfortable environment, on site parking and the food was ample, and freshly cooked.
The convenience, particularly by road. yet not far from the seafront Very quiet, offering a good nights sleep. Comfortable bed, good sized room
Whilst on-going upgrading was apparent, replacing the worn stair carpet could do to be high on the agenda. Also painting the bare panelled bedroom doors would enhance their appearance.
Room & bathroom were of excellent cleanliness. Room was spacious & comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice with a good selection. Would stay again!
Public areas are good on ground floor. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment and is partially complete, but seems to be taking some time. I think it will be nice once complete.
Very noisy toilet flush. Breakfast was ok, but would expect better with prices this high. Lack of off road car parking spaces. Uncomfortable bed.
The beds were comfortable, nice bath. Breakfast was good.
The hotel was very dated, windows were very old with cobwebs. Staff at breakfast not particularly helpful, no-one to greet you on arrival for breakfast.
The hotel is in an area that appears to be a bit run down.
Sufficient parking.A warm welcome on arrival. Given a map of the area when we went for a walk after arrival. The bar was above our basement room but didn't cause any undue noise during the night. Nice modern bar area and seating out the back. Breakfast was good and staff attentive.
Hotel is on a hill so you need a bit of stamina to walk down to the sea. Not a lot going on in the immediate area. A bit of a hum coming from a generator of some sort upstairs, was starting to think that ear plugs would be needed.
Nice room, luxury decor, nice breakfast! Good stay!
Off road parking. Friendly staff, very comfortable room with good size bath room clean bedding fresh towels daily. Very good breakfast.
Just need a bit of T.L.C
All of it! Car parking at the front was easy;choice of rooms which were comfortable & spacious;lovely cooked breakfast; short walk from the beach
plenty to eat at breakfast, rooms smelt nice on arrival as did the rest of hotel every thing was clean and tidy
the carpet on the stairs was a little worn
Very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast
Friendly staff, comfortable room, bar open at convenient times
There should have been a mirror or dressing table in the room for women to use when doing hair or makeup. Chairs in bar very uncomfortable for the older person, perhaps a TV should be in the lounge.
It was a good breakfast, served by friendly staff. The location was OK and suited our needs. Would use this hotel again and recommend to others.
Had a basement room, which was fine, but the carpet on the last set of stairs to room, needed vacuum cleaning.
Service was good, staff helpful.Good variety for breakfast.Off road parking, Easy walk to seafront.Enjoyed stay.
Nothing that was a problem.
High level of comfort and cleanliness, homely rooms, lovely breakfast - all at a very reasonable price and near the seafront and the station.
Hotel clean and has on site parking
Bed was rock hard, it was like sleeping on a plank of wood had a very poor nights sleep. Thought not setting the tables for breakfast not very good, had to collect your own cutlery, cups from the side table, it's the small things that make your weekend different from being at home, thought £85 based on the above comments quite pricey
