Looking from the outside of the front of the house lovely with pretty plants at the entrance
We booked this guest house because of the open fires which were not lit, the lounge fire could not be lit for unknown reasons, a minor point but one of our requirements when looking at accommodation.
Well appointed quiet bedroom Breakfast excellent choice Friendly staff Warm and quaint well looked after building
Bath towels could be bigger Tea making facilities could be more generous although were available upon asking Lack of toiletries
I couldn't fault the service, facilities and staff
Lovely friendly atmosphere. Was made to feel very at home by the host. Will definitely stop again in the future.
Fantastic breakfast Welcoming friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble. Big room with deep bath all beautifully clean.
The top cover on the mattress wasn't very comfortable
Good location, warm welcome, reasonable value for money
Bathroom fitment were dated and the cleanliness was not quite spot on. Breakfast was meanly defined between cooked English and continental.
Breakfast was nice.
Cobwebs in the room, and an open water bottle that someone had drank out of along with half a roll of toilet paper and an almost empty box of tissues. Also uncomfortable bed. Supposed at the 4star rating
A very warm welcome, easy walk into Banbury and good parking. Clean and good breakfast.
The fact that they advertised afternoon tea and evening meal both of which were off that day.
Fee for booking was taken from my credit card before arrival. I did the booking but my partner wanted to pay - bit embarrassing! Always with other hotels payment has been taken during the stay (unless it is payment on booking - which is always highlighted). I don't know whether they are supposed to do this but best to be aware.
Nice breakfast Good location Great staff
Bed was a little short for me, but I'm a tall guy.
Within walking distance to Banbury.
There was a lot of black fungus in the bathroom, both on the walls & the ceiling, the taps also had green verdigris on them. The bed also had BLANKETS not a duvet & the quilt on the bed felt greesy. We went to breakfast at 0830 (breakfast was until 08:45) there were table cloths on the floor & we were told that they would see if anything was left to eat, so what was supposed to be a full English breakfast was about half of what was available.
small room and shower room breakfast was a little cold
Excellent hot tasty breakfast. Pleasant lounge area to relax.
Room 6 top cover on bed very heavy and felt too restricted so removed it. No problem though.
Attractive building, with character
Rather noisy main road at the front
Pleasant place to stay. We liked the fact that we could leave the car in the car park and walk into town.
Booking in not till 4 pm At breakfast the room was very cramped when everyone was eating. We felt like we were on top of each other
Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean room.
Ground floor room was a bit noisy due to creaking floor from room above.
Close to town
Poor night sleep due to staff noise, and room a both. Could hear the other guest talking. Breakfast was a hour slot so far to busy as all guess came at same time , ended up with no toast and no tea , so gave up the following morning.
Loved the quirkyness of the property. Room was lovely and clean. Could not fault the staff. Breakfast was delicious.
Location wasn't bad and town centre was within a 10 minute walk. The room, although very small, was reasonably decorated. There were sufficient towels and shampoo was provided.
Not terribly welcoming. Room was small and very cold - the 1st night I didn't sleep a wink despite using the small lightweight blanket provided, having had to go to bed in my clothes. The 2nd night I had purchased a hot water bottle but had to re-fill it during the night as it had gone cold and the room was freezing. The tea tray and cups were dirty and hadn't been washed since the previous occupant. Thin walls - I was disturbed by snoring guests in other rooms. Breakfasts were rather disorganised - no one was there to welcome you to the dining room or tell you where to sit. The waiting staff took ages to take your order and menus had to be shared between tables. I simply didn't feel like a valued guest.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming on our arrival. The building is very old but it was spotless in all the rooms that we went in. The house situated on the main road between Banbury and Oxford and to be honest we heard no traffic noise once we entered the house. Our bedroom was comfortable and again clean to a high standard. We shall be returning in the future.
Having to come home.
The staff was friendly and the place was very clean.
room to small, no bar,
Staff all very friendly and helpful bedroom comfortable and a good breakfast
The friendly welcome and the excellent breakfasts. It is an old building close to the centre of the town.
Our bedroom (no 2 ) on the ground floor needed a bit of spucing up. It was clean and had all the usual facilities and ameniteis. it just looked and felt a bit tired.
Allowed for a very late check in but didn't give information on the code for the door.
Never really meet the staff until checking out, but we're very friendly as we were leaving.
