Staff were very helpful, and friendly. I was put in a fantastic room above the garden and the room had everything I could have needed. Breakfast was fantastic and evening menu looked nice - arrived late so didn't eat. Will certainly book again for leisure with family and try the food. All round a lovely hotel which I would recommend.

All the staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. Nicky, front of house, very kindly found us an alternative room for the first night due to a wedding party disco being held in the main hotel. The room we were given for the Sunday night was excellent. The food in the restaurant was first class and very reasonably priced. We would certainly stop here again in future. The only problem we incurred was on the first night the noise of people walking to and fro in the room above us and their use of the lavotory was very loud

Room was cold, radiators only got luke warm. The only way to keep warm was to be in the bed. Hot tap had to be run for about 3 mins before any hot water came through. One night it took 1 hour and 10 mins to run a bath. It advetised wifi throught the hotel but the signle was too week in our room. Curtains looked hand made by a blind man. I could go on but!!!

We travelled from Bedfordshire to my Wife's best friends funeral, who also lived in the same village. it was a perfect setting for this very sad occasion. We were very impressed with our room and felt very comfortable. We would certainly recommend it.

Friendly Staff, very good breakfast with good service at breakfast. The bed was very uncomfortable, the water in the shower was either freezing cold or scalding hot, the upstairs could do with decorating and the carpets could do with cleaning or replacing, the description of the hotel said no pets allowed, however, they allow up to 2 dogs per room, as I suffer with sinus problems I was not happy with animals having been in the room, we would not have booked if we had known. We had a meal in the restaurant and ordered a bottle of wine, the waitress brought it in an ice bucket put it on the table and walked away, we also had odd wine glasses, I asked for a jug of water, a jug was put on the table but no glasses, the service in the restaurant on an evening was very poor, not value for money.

East Ayton Lodge is in a quiet, rural village location 2 miles from Scarborough. The annexe room was clean with nice decor and well above run of the mill motorway lodge rooms. The bed was very supportive and comfortable. The main hotel is a farmhouse/ coaching inn style stone building in pleasant grounds. The cabin style annexe building is not unattractive, in an l shape on the East side of the main building. The dining room in the main hotel was clean and fairly pleasant and the standard English breakfast was ok but as breakfasts go nothing to write home about: sufficient and reasonably tasty but not the best or most plentiful we've had. As we were in the annexe we didn't see much of the main hotel. There's a photo of a 4 poster bedroom on the East Ayton Lodge website. We didn't expect that but we were initially disappointed to be in the annexe and not the main hotel. Perhaps that might have been clearer when booking. However, the annexe room was well above motorway lodge standard and the presence of a 150 strong noisy birthday party in the main hotel made the annexe a quieter refuge. The presence of the very busy party did, unfortunately, alter our plans to eat in the hotel in the evening and we ended up trawling about Scarborough to find somewhere to eat. On the particular evening we stayed at the hotel it wasn't the quiet retreat we'd envisaged. We'd stay again but maybe enquire first about rooms etc.

The rooms were very comfortable and the beds /linens excellent. The staff were very attentive and as we traveled with a toddler they were very helpful. The grounds are really lovely and the walk into the village is only a few minutes and there are a few shops and tea romms etc. The drive into Scarborough took no more than 10 minutes . Thought the rooms were very comfortable they were very tired. Some wall paper ripped etc. The bathroom was in need of an update but very clean. Also the radiators in the communal areas were very hot to the point of being uncomfortable. Apart from that all was fine.

Very friendly and helpful staff The room was very poor for the price. Stained, grubby carpet. No proper shower. Bed was creaky. Tv too small to see from the bed. Hairdryer not near a mirror or easy access to plug. Flashing smoke alarm directly over bed. All these point were told to staff on our departure.

As soon as we saw the hotel we were given a sense of comfort securityy and good old fashioned service. We were not disapointed, the receptionist was charming and very efficient. The room was comfortable clean and warm with all the everyday appliances needed. The location is quiet and yet only minutes from the coast. The bar staff were really friendly and the choice of beers and spirits etc was quite adequate. The breakfast was excellent good quality and cooked just as I requested it.I Would have no hesitation in reccomending it to anyone and would most definately stay again. Anthony and Frances . Bar could do with brightening up, better lighting.
