Breakfast was good. Staff friendly, set up for wedding looked excellent.
We stayed in a room where the thermostat on radiators didn't work so the room was far too hot even when we opened the windows. Room and en suite looked tired in need of updating.
The room was lovely. Beds comfortable. Nice setting. Good breakfast. Cosy lounge and bar.
This hotel is fabulous,we enjoyed our stay very much,it's spotlessly clean and beautiful hotel inside and out. The staff are amazing and realy down to earth and kind and professional.we will be coming back again. We enjoyed the stay a lot and enjoyed the surroundings .the room was beautiful ,very clean, like home from home and very modern .the food is lovely and recommend this hotel so much. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Staff were excellent and extremely helpful. Really good hotel !!
Lovely location. Nicely decorated spacious rooms. FRIENDLY, HELPFUL STAFF. BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED FOOD.
Set up of hotel meant it was noisy if any cars or people passed the room as based around a court yard. Gravel based drive noisy, ? tarmac or block PAVE Rooms needed more toiletries such as body lotion, cotton wool and cotton buds.
The staff and location. Very comfortable bed.
Because there was a wedding the day and evening we stayed it meant there wasn't any where for resident guests to relax ie a separate lounge. Put off having evening meal as busy with wedding. Went into Scarborough. There would have been no where to eat it anyway. The lovely wooden paneling in the hall was thick of dust. Shame.
Lovey peaceful grounds, there was a wedding party on during our visit but we cold hear the music in the room and slept well. Room clean and a good size.
No option in the room to turn heating on but thankfully it was a warm morning so it wasn't too cold, cold be a problem in the winter though but to be fair we didn't ask the staff so not sure if that could of been something that they could of sorted out if needed.
The hotel is in a lovely setting, staff were very friendly & helpful
The Beds are much to soft, & quilts are too warm even with the window open
The building is lovely and hotel entrance fine , shame the rooms are abit tired, need a lick of paint.
Hotel had a wedding party in so we felt we had to stay in our rooms and music loud so not the best nights sleep
Staff, breakfast and plenty of parking.
Not much choice on the menu for vegetarians. And room 3 could do with a refurb.
The location. Ho, and the creaky floorboards, they reminded me of home, most of the staff were very helpful. The style of the property and the grounds. The food was good.
Some parts could do with being redecorated.
Friendliness of staff and peaceful and quiet location. Breakfast was excellent and accomodate for early breakfast not a problem.
Food finished at 9.00pm which i missed one night.
East Ayton lodge is situated in a lovely place. Had a comfortable nights sleep, our evening meal was great but the decor in the rooms are in need of tlc. Could be so much more with a good tidy up as it is looking a bit tired.
Paper hanging off walls in our room.
Rooms were nice, good food, nice staff.
Double bed was solid, was like sleeping on the floor. The room door curtain might as well been non existant, due to this light was beeming in the room all night.
The family room being out of the way so our 6 year old was ok being a bit noisy!
The nasty broken 'leather' seats in the bar, didn't give a good impression.
Staff Restaurant Atmosphere Food
Bedroom was a little too small & located above the kitchen area so was a cooking smell during restaurant hours.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had excellent breakfasts and the meals we had there were also very good. Two members of staff deserve a particular commendation: Gemma and Kieron went out of their way to help my mother who is partially sighted. Rooms good quality with comfortable beds
Conservatory in need of repair
Breakfast Location Grounds
Worst shower ever Bathroom decidedly unclean looking Very noisy floorboards disturbs sleep Could hear other rooms extractor fans loudly
Food was fine
1.worn out seating in dining area caused stain on trousers. 2. people walking on access area to upstairs and room above sounded like a herd of elephants was approaching.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. The location and grounds were beautiful.
The room was in need of decoration very tired. And the level of cleaning was basic which I put down to the fact that the cleaning was done by young and inexperienced staff for example there was a dead fly in the windowsill on arrival, l stood on a tack sticking up in the carpet, it was not vacuumed juring our stay. The bath plug hole was blocked. And the bed was low and soft not good for the disabled.
Creaky floor boards room above ours and noisy bathroom fan caused poor sleep in room 27
rooms were spacious
noisey plumbing room 31
The building in an attractive setting, good car parking, friendly staff and quick service. Good breakfast.
Blind at the window rather than curtains. Catch for blind cord loose in the wall. No towel rail near the washbasin. Only one bedside light working.
Location is excellent. The staff were civil, although I didn't see a lot of them.
Checked in about 5pm, housekeeping hadn't been done. Had to pick up wet towels off the floor and take them to reception. Checked bedding when I got back, it had just been tidied, not changed, as I noticed the same stain on the sheet. Woke up the next day with a stomach bug, which may have had something to do with the previous occupant and the wet towels etc!! I should have had a few things to say; unfortunately I was too rough for the period of my stay!
Friendly helpful staff, gorgeous room with fabulous four poster, seperate kitchen and bathroom, nice view over gardens, large room, very good value, nice quiet location, loved it!
Only negative was the shower.Impossible to get temperature right and very little power
