A ideally located comfortable hotel
View out over the sea
Hotel is modern and clean throughout. Comfy rooms well furnished. I had a rear facing room which was a shame, the sea facing rooms are really enjoyable. This is a really good hotel, a touch quiet and you do feel as if your staying on your own, but great value. Food at breakfast great.
Yes the hotel does look terribly dated from the outside, but the bedrooms are wonderful, contemporary, neutral colours and fantastic quality beds and linen. Surprisingly luxurious! The staff from Reception to the bar were fantastic, so helpful and courteous. The whole breakfast set up needs basic investment, the staff need more training for sure, but I guess it's difficult for them to be inspired working in a stale dull room with no ambience at all, decorated from the 60's!
Sadly beyond the fantastic bedroom decor, a lot of the rest of the hotel looks dated, very clean but dated. The breakfast room needs completely renovating. So odd the owners have done so well with the bedrooms but downstairs it's a bit like going back in time. But then again looking at most of the hotels along Eastbourne seafront, it seems that's what the punters want! Hopefully the owners of The View are slowly doing up the hotel and if their bedrooms are anything to go by, it'll be awesome when they've finished.
we liked the room and shower a real nice touch
food at dinner did not have many choices we had chicken fri and sat and served on small plates so it looks big and bar prices were high and with no entertainment so did not drink in hotel
Food good room good would have liked a loo brush.
The waitress at breakfast was miserable and did not really want to be doing the job the head waiter was excellent.
Staff very friendly and very helpful. Exceedingly clean everywhere. Breakfast great, and dinner always excellent.
The view of the sea was nice and the restaurant staff were good.
The hotel has placed the smokers area at the front of the hotel so the sea breeze wafts their smoke right into your open balcony door. Also, people smoke on the balconies and that also wafts into rooms. Management appears to be weak in enforcing the law and its own policy of imposing a fine. Very poor soundproofing in the rooms - TV's mounted onto a wall panel that acts as a sound board into next rooms. Management needs to completely revise its house rules regarding anti-smoking in the hotel public areas and state CLEARLY in the house rules that this INCLUDES the balconies! But, they will also have to move the designated smoking area away from the 1st floor balcony at the front of the hotel!
absolutely everything, the lounge is lovely and comfortable, with plenty of space, staff of the highest quality, breakfast is particularly good, [full English] rooms are big and very comfortable, with lovely views, in my opinion this is a 5 star hotel,
cleanliness friendly staff and very helpful . Very good hotel
Bed not very comfortable
Layout - Hotel Style Room with Balcony & View Staff Smoking area Good Breakfast Top Quality hotel for the price
Cannot fault it
comfortable rooms with balcony and superb view of the seafront, good breakfast, parking just round the corner and parking voucher allowing us to park a whole day for £1
downstairs loos are like a retro 1970s school toilet ... quite endearing really ;)
I got a good deal as I booked on the day of travel. Hotel was better than expected, right on the seafront. So near to the sea that at night I could hear the waves. Accommodation was of a high standard for what I actually paid.
On checking out the lady at reception tried to charge me for a room service meal that I never had...sirloin steak! Fortunately she could see her mistake as she had the wrong room tab..instead of 710 she was looking at room 701's bill.
Friendly Staff Comfortable and clean Brilliant Location, handy for all parts of Eastbourne. Top Breakfast Quiet and responsible clientel
We couldn't fault it
We stayed in one of the suites, two separate bedrooms, one with en-suite plus a large living area, family bathroom and amazing wrap-around balcony with sea and downs view. Staff were great, very efficient, location was perfect, close to town but quiet at night. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything we required and more. Will definitely return
Breakfast was only average compared to everything else offered at the hotel
Bar area was pkeasant and lady there very nice
we had a room with no view as you would imagine with the title we faced back to buuldings and had no balcony really disappointed
The stylish bar.
Restaurant, ate out.
the hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Bar are and bedrooms very nice
Restaurant needs a bit of an update, went out to eat as didn't have much choice for evening meal
Recently updated rooms in great location. Very helpful staff. Parking voucher costing only £1/day.
Excellent facilities in the room and very nicely laid out. Fantastic view and close to theatres and shops. Deal was excellent value for money. Safe in room was appreciated
Would have preferred to have had bath in room. Shower cubicle was large, but in common with many other hotels no shelf to put the shampoo etc.
ciggarette butts on the balconey
