Eastbourne Riviera Hotel  

Hotel was nice and clean,staff friendly and helpful,breakfast was very good..would return..

Doors that banged, doors that squeaked, noisy guests until 4am

It was very near the pier.The beds were very comfortable. the breakfast was very good.

It was quite noisy and needs more soundproofing,also there were no parking facilities.

Good position for the the town centre and coastal walking. Excellent large sea view room with good sized en suite.Copious hot water and a bath with shower.Quiet and well serviced room.Barbara the receptionist was excellent and made us most welcome from the start.She was pleasant and very willing to assist us with the parking vouchers enabling us to park right opposite the hotel for our entire stay at the budget price of £1 per day.The breakfasts were varied and cooked freshly so always arrived at the table hot and tempting.Sufficient to keep us going all day.

The dining area which we used on our first evening lacked atmosphere and as we were the only diners it wasn't a relaxing experience.. A bit like eating in a library! We were told afterwards that we could have asked for some music so perhaps that was our problem...maybe it would be better to provide it first then turn it down if anyone objects rather than the quietness which didn't encourage the diners to stay in the Hotel.Most seemed to go elsewhere.

Nice place closed to the beach , lovely breakfast and nice staff . I will come back there .

The main road is between the hotel and the sea, therefore all seaview rooms are loud during the day.

My radiator didn't work so it was cold at night

-Shower was not good-and you had to be under 5 feet to go under it and it runs out of hot water quickly -lift too small and slow -staff are not that friendly -the curtain were very thin so when the sun comes out it brightens the whole room-would suggest black out curtains

shabby room ie needs painting, wardrobe door needs mending, curtain hooks required, window needs mending, bed needed replacing as old and very uncomfortable. No evening meal on Saturday night.

Does exactly as it says, no hidden surprises. A comfortable, clean and simple room with a lovely sea view. Space enough for couple and baby with buggy and luggage. A table and comfortable chairs to relax in.in the room. Simple bathroom in which everything was satisfactory. Nice breakfast and professional staff

Single glazed windows so room was a little noisy with cars going by, not too much of a disturbance as living in South East London we're somewhat immune to traffic noise.

Location. Sea view. Bright room. Overall cost.

No comfortable chairs in which to read/relax. Same in the bedroom.

It was just a lovely weekend

Good value for money, lovely breakfast. clean feel all over hotel. Location fantastic for beach and shops.

Bar selection poor for a real ale fan and when dining asked for wine list to be told they do not have one. Also the 'Modern' decor in public areas is horrible and basic feeling, no wonder the restaurant was unpopular. This hotel has no soul!!!!

The room was sea facing with a large very comfortable bed. We had a good breakfast and the waitresses were very attentive.

The Receptionist needs to be more welcoming. I don't think she smiled once! The double glazed windows in our room failed to keep out the traffic noise. I couldn't work out if I was hearing the waves crashing on the pebble beach or some form of extractor fan outside of the room but it sure was annoying!

Poor lighting in corridor to room

Location

The receptionist informed us that breakfast was served until 10.30am. We arrived at 10.15 am and we made to feel like we were late. The chef had already started to clean the kitchen. We were seated and served but felt like we were in the way. After we had finished eating, we were hurried to another table while the waitress cleared our things at which point we left. Highly unprofessional and very unwelcoming - two things that you do not expect from a hospitality business!

The staff in particular were very friendly and professional. We loved the breakfast too! We'd like to stay again soon.

The heating in our room was turned off which made things a bit uncomfortable since we were travelling with a baby. It took 12 hrs for our room to warm up :(
